Dr Karen. Revolution of the Daleks

Fuck me, the New Year's day special was bad.

Plot ripped off from Victory of the Daleks only 5 year earlier
Resolution to the episode ripped off from Revelation of the Daleks in 1985
Dr's incarceration meant nothing apart from letting the companions sulk as they were without the Doctor for....11 whole fucking months!
Cringey awkward comedy and so many stilted moments of acting
Probably the worst overdrawn farewell to a crap companion in the history of the show
Mr Big - please stay in Sex and The City and never appear in anything else!
Weeping Angel cameo that made no sense when it attacked as seconds later it shows the whole facility being monitored by cameras. Chibnall do you ever watch the fucking show?
Percy Ingell Karen showed no improvements in her range as "The Doctor".
Sorry Chib's your not going to fool us into liking this shite by shoehorning in Captain Jack

It was probably a mistake to watch the Expanse directly after. The gulf in quality was a universe apart.

My brother kept telling me he was watching it, and I couldn't be arsed to care. I already stopped watching the show after Capaldi's second season, and nothing I've read about Chibnall's horrendous run has convinced me there's a reason to go back.

The Timeless Child horseshit was already a disaster, but now they're thinking of changing the TARDIS' iconic Police Call Box disguise? Just kill the show already.

Peter Capaldi (old man) has some fantastic episodes (Flatline, Heaven Sent, Robot of Sherwood, Under the Lake and Before the Flood) buried under some meh episodes and some truly terrible ones (Kill the Moon, Death in Heaven). It's at the point when showrunner Steven Moffat started not giving a fuck about consistency or quality.

I was intrigued by Jodie Whitaker being cast as the first female Doctor. But watching the first three episodes of her second season just turned me off, so I didn't watch the rest. And after reading what current showrunner has done to the program with the Timeless Child shitshow, I'm glad I did.

So those are my thoughts on the Doctor Who seasons you've yet to watch. Make of it what you will.

"How about a Dalek with breasts?"

"Oh, no, I tried that with a Cyberman and it didn't go down well."

Holy shit, this is what the guy whining about sexism wrote into a story? She has bikini armor and a helmet with a few cables to make her look robotic. Very problematic. Oof.

They're still having Weeping Angels pop up? I haven't watched in years because it felt like it was running out of steam even back then. It's sad how a cool concept like the Weeping Angels has been milked absolutely dry.

I see the simp crowd are happy with ratings of 4.69 million for this asinine garbage... the lowest in Who history for a special. Tennant and Smith over double that.

This show is now only watched by the woke, and pathetic Who fans who just can’t let it go. Eternally glad I quit out one episode into Whitaker’s run.

I'm going to have to join you. It's wishful thinking to hope it's going to get better.

It’s not. Ever again. The BBC are entirely uninterested in a sci-fi show about a near ageless entity that masquerades as an eccentric human being, who always tries, but sometimes fails, to do the right thing.

They are entirely all about hijacking that character to push an agenda. Nothing about Chibnall’s run is about a continuation of that character and his story. It’s about pulling it to pieces in order to make a statement.

In my head canon, Matt Smith was the last - and best - Doctor. It’s been a non stop downhill run since then, with appalling writing for Capaldi, and worse writing and terrible casting with Whitaker.

It's now the exact opposite of 1987. Fans begging for cancellation and rest while the BBC doubles down on continuing it.

And you were right about the simps.

Oof. Completely forgot that Chibnall wrote that garbage. It's one of the reasons why I stopped with Torchwood in the first season. I knew it was going to be trash after seeing that shit.

Goddamn. Do these idiots really think they're going to score some bluecheck pussy by simping for the show this much?

For the record, I was all for Jodie Whitaker's casting and was intrigued by the possibilities of a female Doctor. Too bad it was all wasted on petty virtue signaling.

Have they ditched the police box yet? Figured the cowards would finally get rid of the last remaining piece of Who lore since cops are bad people
Just a rumor at this point, but it wouldn't surprise me if the rabid wokes at the BBC were itching to do it when they get the opportunity.

But good luck trying to win back longtime fans if you dare to remove one of the show's iconic elements.

Torchwood is pretty good. It did have some stinker episodes though. The Cyberwoman was probably the worst.

Simply put, the writing on Doctor Who is not what it used to be. I get annoyed that they forget important details of the lore. It is lazy writing.

Capaldi was pretty awesome, carrying awful scripts and making something decent out of them. Remember, this is Malcolm Fucking Tucker we’re talking about here. If only he’d been allowed to swear...

I think that was the disappointment, Dr Tucker was what we all wanted, instead we got Clara's simp.

She’s quit now anyway.

Unless Chibnal is fucking off too, and all the damage done to the show's continuity is immediately undone, or at least swept under the rug and never talked about again (like how the Doctor is half human), it's too little too late.

Hell, given the people in charge, and their casting of a fat black woman to be the super secret, even more original Doctor, that's way more important than William Hartnell, I kind of just expect them to go with whatever shows up to the auditions with the most 'underprivileged' superficial characteristics, then crow about how wonderful they are for their pity casting.

Chimpnall will probably cast the next Doctor with a final fuck you to the fans. Probably Dawn French making BLM fists.

How far the show has fallen that you have to cast a minority actor as the Doctor out of pity rather than... you know? Earning it?

It's the BBC, ultra woke racism and bigotry is their highest priority, just slightly ahead of telling people how awful native brits, their culture and history are.
Which is why the UK TV license fee needs to be scrapped. Once the BBC loses it's funding, they'll be forced to make content that actually attracts viewers rather than turning them away.

Speaking of Doctor Who, it deserves a revival and a back to basics approach like Star Wars has done with The Mandalorian. Disney is in dire financial straights right now and are trying desperately to win back the fanboys they lost with the Sequel Trilogy disaster.

On the other side of things, BBC were accused of being transphobic for praising JK Rowling for her essay. BBC can’t win with anyone.

I wonder if Who’s low numbers will cause them to take a look at why. I suppose if they can’t get a replacement they’ll have to cancel it again.

If they got a new showrunner and dropped in an “It was all a dream” episode and made the Whittaker incarnation a hallucination of regeneration I’m sure fans would cheer.

And the SJWs would scream the BBC are misogynists for decanonising the first female Doctor.

But what the hell... Fuck them I say. Saving the show is more important than NPC feelings.

Just memory hole it.

Don't piss off it's fans by 'erasing' it, just never mention or reference it again.

It's why I think we need another decade plus break. Let the dust settle, and then reintroduce the character without all the baggage and convulted current lore.

Go back to fundamentals. A mad man in a box having very British adventures through time and space.

Eventually you can reintroduce the other Time Lords as the Doctor's people he ran away from as William Hartnell, but don't go into anymore detail than that, and let this timeless child bollocks be forgotten and slowly replaced with new stories organically.

It's not like having the Time Lords play a significant role ever led to great improvements in the plot anyway, so having a reason not to touch them unless absolutely necessary could even be a good thing.

What’s really fucking galling about all this is when you rightly criticise Whitaker’s piss poor performance and Chibnall’s terrible writing, you get branded a misogynist or a nazi.

Here’s the truth, fuckers:

Doctor Who starring Phoebe Waller Bridge and written by her and Stephen Moffat would have probably kicked ass on all sorts of levels. As would Doctor Who starring Chiwetel Ejiofir and written by Russel T Davies.

But we got a weak, small, bland actress doing a poor impression of Matt Smith and David Tennant, and writing from someone who actually couldn’t give a shit about Doctor Who, more than he does pushing agendas and platitudes.

The problem isn’t making ‘woke’ programs, the problem is the woke creatives are so very, very fucking terrible at making tv shows and movies across the board.

Does Whitaker's Doctor really have fans? All I've read is that the show has had it's lowest ratings since her run began.

Why would pussyfoot around to please a minority subset of fans who like this crap?

Because they are really loud on social media, and the BBC are paying way too much attention to it.

And social media is such a great barometer of how popular a tv programme is right? Last I heard it was ratings or whatever metric they use. I'm not sure in these days of streaming TV.
