In the main timeline they didn't turn bad because Krillin and co. showed them mercy and kindness. In the Future timeline Cell and Goku weren't factors so Vegeta was the leader of the Z Fighter and he was probably a huge asshole to them.

Besides, Toei doesn't seem to like Trunks x Mai, so if Toriyama hasn't written any actual development for them this arc they'd probably get nothing, just random comedy scenes.

They were separate attacks. That still doesn't address my point.

This is the same blast affecting 2 people in the same way, suggesting they are on, or at least around the same level. Weaker than SSJ3 is a monstrous difference than SSB.

They completely removed it from their Battle of Gods adaptation. They brought it back for the Trunks arc only to set up the conflict between Present and Future Trunks, but ever since that arc ended they haven't referenced it even once.

Trunks has barely been in the show and they're both still children anyway...
 
Man an 80 person/8 team battle royale sounds like such a clusterfuck, I can't think of a large battle royale in any other anime that was memorable. Some kind of structure like maybe the rest of the universes teamup to take out U7(with U6 helping them) would help keep everything together.

Fine episode though. I think the main thing nagging at people about the power levels is what they showed SSB to be early on. The god waves destroying the universe were the worst bit about it. As a more focused SS, cool, whatever. And I have no problem with 17 powering up a lot, he's the one it makes the most sense for.

This was something brought up in the episode. Goku and Vegeta have been too busy worrying about the God's problems/ getting stronger, that they haven't been paying attention to what's going on in Earth.

Kind of highlights how stupid Kami was offering the job to Goku. Dende would be ashamed in the previous guardian if he heard that.

Goku and Vegeta know about him, they mentioned him around episode 30, but he's probably not exerting enough energy to be that noticeable. Uub in EoZ didn't seem to show off any special powers before fighting Goku.

But then EoZ happened, and he became a broken character in Budokai 3 :( #NerfUub.
 
So do you guys think it was a mistake to reveal the full roster of U7 so early in promotional material/ the opening?

If it was going to be a 4 episode buildup, then I think it was fine, but since they went all out on the recruiting process, it seems like it was a poor choice. We know 17 is going to join, we know who the vacant 10th fighter is. I love the in between episodes, but the extra surprise each episode of who was joining might have helped. Think of that moment where Satan suggests 17, where we didn't know that before hand.

Makes me think they weren't initially planning such a big recruitment part of the arc.

It's likely that they dragging the arc this much so the manga can catch up.

Please read the thread. I didn't randomly go to a poster and tell them to stop watching the show. The poster has been filling the thread with his negativity for 24 hours. There have been many other posters who have expressed their unsastifaction for the episode, power levels, ect... but have not continued to post random negative posts throughout the thread.

It had gotten quite annoying. You don't have to worry about me talking to that poster again as I am ignoring him. I'm sorry if I have contributed into making this thread a grievance. I would never want to make someone feel like they don't want to watch something or post in a thread.

This will be my last post about that poster and the episode. Only gonna talk about how awesome the next episode will be!
