There's no way that 17 trained half as hard as Vegeta. He had no time chamber, no 1000x gravity, no Whis, no real enemies and etc. There's no damn way he was doing it around the clock.

But then someone said Majin > Androids > Freeza > Saiyans and yeah, although disappointing I guess that's it. Goku and Vegeta's "genius" is their work ethic plain and simple, while others get much more for way less. Oh and they get significantly stronger after getting their asses beat sometimes.

Here's the main deal with Super and why I haven't watched it regularly since the Future Trunks Saga ended -

I can't get invested in anything going on in the series when the writers can just randomly make any character as powerful as they want without any foreshadowing or explanation. This whole thing with 17 is a prime example of the logical inconsistencies that the show has - he's literally just been "training" as a park ranger for years and suddenly he can go toe to toe with not only SSJ Goku, who is leagues more powerful than anything in DBZ, but SSB Goku, who is substantially more powerful than that. People defending it by citing other moments of ass-pulls in this show, like Frieza training for 4 months and going from Namek tier to SSB tier and Trunks going from Dabura tier to near-SSB tier, just reinforces how bad the show is with this.

I don't think Super is a show devoid of enjoyability and I don't judge anyone for liking it, but if any other show that did not have characters from your childhood and Dragon Ball in the title pulled the stuff that this show pulls, I would think most of you would have dropped this series long ago.

1 Android pushup equals 1000 Saiyan pushups, it is known.

Resurrection of C when

Post EoZ.
So Pan can go Mystic SSB and kill him.

lol what's cell X
latest

It's cray but this standard was set with Frieza in RoF. I just take it as beings with higher strength without training can get to higher heights easier when they do train. It's extreme but not anymore extreme than Frieza.

I was more responding to the discussion above going on about you you lol

I honestly don't care what that guy thinks or says about me.

If he was that offended by my posts then he should have put me in ignore from the beginning and be done with it but he continued to try and make himself look good by calling me out.

I have no time for people like that (Note that he insulted me twice and I never did that to anyone here). I also don't deny that I did post way too negatively on the subject but hey that's because I actually care for this damn show.

I will try to be less vocal about stuff like this but my mind won't change on the matter that this was a bullshit power up and ruined the arc for me.

What created Cell X?
I'm assuming either more androids, or different timeline androids.
Or is it really just his time breaker form?

Cell-X was originally a new version of Cell created by the Time Breakers/Demon Realm army in Dragonball Online. It spawned more Cell-Xes, that first appear in larval form before becoming more Imperfect Cell-Xes, with him being basically a dungeon boss.

Dragonball Heroes reused the design as a power up for Cell with the power of the Dark Dragonballs (the one with the dark core pictured in a previous post, rather than a green one). Although here he fights directly from the start rather than being an army incubator.

Im not one to ever try and rationalize power levels in this series but people act like 17 was just fighting a guy or two when we see that there are entire armies and even beings from other planets looking for the minotaurus, so hes not just like some normal park ranger. On top of that, he said he knew goku was holding back and goku the same of 17 so he wasnt necessarily going toe to toe with goku as much as he just has a killer energy shield that was able to block a Kamehameha.

Anyways yeah never look too hard into the logic of this show but this tournament of power at least uses the premise that theres more to it than raw power.

If thwy are not idiots Champa and Vados should gather a whole team of Saiyans and Hit and turn them god
You only need the ritual right

They need to make sure they have Magetta. Magetta's overpowered in a tournament where you have to get thrown out.

Well, Champa was telling Cabba to get Saiyans for him. Actually makes me wonder if we might get all extra 5 slots taken up by Saiyans or something.

Honestly, they had krillin somewhat holding back a kamehameha from SSB goku. That was an obvious indication Goku was massively holding back against his friend. I wouldn't doubt it if he was holding back a large portion of true full power as SSB WITHOUT Kaio Ken. For all we know, Goku just wanted a good spar even if he said 17 would be a dangerous enemy and is still vastly more powerful overall than the current "flavor of the month" returning character.

This is all theoretical of course. Given how much goku has held back in the past even when it comes to fighting enemies. Case in point, when he fought Majin Vegeta, he could have just opted to go SSJ 3 and plastered his ass across the rocky terrain...but he didn't because of limited time energy on earth yadda yadda and SSJ 3 would burn through it quickly.

Idk tho there's a difference between holding back a form and holding back while in said form. 17 was apparently holding back too. Meh not that it matters all for fun anyway I just go with it

I just saw the episode. I certainly wasn't expecting references to Uub already lol. As dumb as it is that 17 can somehow stand against SSB Goku, I think it's time to throw in the towel with power levels and just let that shit go at this point. Super clearly doesn't give a fuck anymore. As long as my boy Piccolo gets some respek put on his name, we good.

*Piccolo inner monologue after getting outpaced by Gohan in special training*

"Why can't I keep up with the Saiyans?"

"You merged with me, who was once a god. You just never realized you could become one yourself, Piccolo."

"Wait, Kami... you don't mean...?"

"Just belieeeeeeeeeeve!"

*long scene of Piccolo turning into Namekian god*

"Told you it would work, Kami!"

"Shut up, Nail!"

One of the best post in this thread... Kudos..

Hopefully but I'm not holding my breath anymore for it.

This great and i would love it if it happened

If they keep the same thing as end of Z goten may as well not enter either lol. I'm thinking they'll change it. Things haven't been peaceful at all

I mean, 17 getting humiliated got him to train and outclass them all.

Maybe Goten losing to Pan will be that for him.

They haven't actually trashed Trunks so he could get Goten back to shape.

That being said the Pan thing was only anime. Now that Buu is stronger, I guess It would explain why Goten was scared even if he is powerful himself.

The fact of the matter is that they wrote themselves into a corner when they made Goku and Vegeta a lot more powerful than the rest. It feels like they're now trying to come up with excuses to circumvent that. Some of them might be lame, but I think it's going to result in a better show.

With Gohan, they tapped into the idea that he wants to protect his family. This was done well, and we've always known he has hidden powers. The way they brought Krillin back to relevancy was also smart. They established it's not just about raw power, but also teamwork. In a tournament like this, he can actually accomplish stuff. My headcanon for 17 is that he's an android who is capable of reaching great heights as long as he trains seriously (similar to Frieza's situation).

It will be interesting to see how they justify the rest of the team.

Well... duh.

Apparently next episode isn't just fodder.

So it's possible we get more of 17's backstory.

Please reveal how 17 trained.
