All of the rage about
Frieza
returning is hilarious. The universe is on the line and he was the strongest being in the universe short of the gods before those filthy upstart monkey Saiyans decided to revolt on Namek! I'm honestly surprised that Beerus didn't force them to revive
Frieza
before
Buu
bowed out or whatever happens.

Broly, the worst character across all universes is cannonized
frieza revived...Notthisshitagain.jpg
28 planets (Still too many for shin-"what are metalmen?" and his ancient team of kais to keep up with)
Everyone has conveniently been training their asses off in secret
Power ups for everybody
Buu teased for two tournaments just to be sacked again for more unoriginality

This arc is killing me. The best parts have been the scenes that take place in the other universes which seem to have been kept at a minimum so far.

How was Broly canonized?

They should do a double fake out.

Have Goku go to Freeza and ask him but then Freeza refuses when BAM out of nowhere. Cell arrives and says he's heard everything and accepts the offer.

Gohan is probably much stronger than he was in Z right now. They're just referring to the Elder-Unlock as a "form" these days, but forms can grow in power.

All that needs to be said in bold. None of this is good writing, it's all awful.

The writing has been shit since the Cell saga, so I see no reason why anyone would be surprised at this point.

There was, however, some semblance of hierarchy that the show built... At least in Z. That's all in the shitter now.

I could see Cell being interested simply for the challenge. Cell considers himself to be the ultimate fighter and would ideally want to become stronger. Frieza doesn't exist for the thrill of combat like Cell does (especially with those Saiyan Cells)

How would Cell retain his perfect form?

How would Cell retain his perfect form?

I mean he had it after he came back from near death after Goku Instant Transmissioned him away.

^ or as Maxim726X says, who cares.

Now granted my perception of Cell is probably really skewed. Since I can't help but think of TFS Cell when I think of him, but I still think his design and such are cooler than Freeza.

Though IIRC, isn't a possible reason they aren't using Cell is because they don't want to have to draw his spots over and over?

Just woke up to 10 new pages on the thread... Could only mean one thing... FUCK

They fucked it up. There is no conceivable way Goku would ever want to recruit Frieza. This is pure character assassination. He literally killed his best friend, his two main rivals who he befriended and tortured his own son to the brink of death. That's not even considering the fact that he enslaved and killed his entire race including his mum and dad. Why do they go out of their way to fuck up Goku's character?

And don't get me started on Buu missing the tournament now. He was in my top 3 characters to watch out for this tournament and now they've come up with the same shit excuse twice. It's just not believable Whis and Beerus dont have it in their powers to wake Buu.

And I'm sure this whole thing won't do Frieza's character justice like ROF tarnishing his legacy even further.

I wouldn't even be too sad about this if it was Beerus who did this behind everyone's back or something and the whole gang was vehemently against it but having to throw Goku and Buu under the bus to make it happen is pretty bad.

Here's hoping
Frieza
says no :(

Toei really jumping the shark on this one, especially if it's being used as a device to kill time before the main event.

Villains wise, Cell really would make more sense than Frieza when it comes to motivations, plus he's someone I could see actually obeying the no killing rule, unlike Frieza.

How did he get his perfect form back after blowing himself up in his imperfect form?

Answer? Who cares!

Oh that's right, I forgot they completely skipped over that.

Seriously. I mean I get that Goku probably wants Freeza cause of his Gold form but considering Vegeta is using the Time Chamber, why not have Cell use it and then get up him to snuff? Pretty sure if he got Golden form he would be far and away better than Freeza's gold form.

Oh that's right, I forgot they completely skipped over that.

Yeah. I think all he does explain is how he came back and how he got a Zenkai boost.

I hope not.
Frieza
should be here to stay.

Im coming to terms with this,if Majin Buu was a necessary sacrifice to bring
lord Frieza back at the tournament
so be it.
Not everyone is worthy enough to be pushed aside. :*)

I like these spoilers. I pretty much wanted this to happen lol.

Sucks that Buu might get benched though. I was really looking forward to seeing him fight. Think I'd rather see Roshi or even Tien get the boot. Especially considering how weak Tien looked in this latest episode . . . Still, I wanted a dead villain on the squad, so I'll take it lol.

Nah dude. There's a number of reasons why I disagree.
One, Freeza's been wanked off in the movies, GT, etc etc for too long. They've exhausted him. Two, this is the third time they're trying to write Buu out the plot cause he fell asleep... that's boring. And bad writing. Skii already said it best, but they're making Goku into a huge fucking moron after everything Freeza's done. Freeza was supposed to be the character that couldn't be redeemed.

That's why I hope it's just a time filler.

Yeah. I think all he does explain is how he came back and how he got a Zenkai boost.

Cell could have either a gold form, SSB, Gohans ultimate form or some how all of those combined. That's how broken he is by design since he has all their DNA in his makeup.

Please. :D

I think someone posted in OT5 a cool one of Golden Cell with SSB aura and accents.

I don't think think it's just random filler. Heroes so far has always taken longer than usual to add Toei original elements like SSB Kaioken and Trunks SSJR, but they had been advertising for a while already a story about going to hell to recruit someone for the universal tournament.

With Gohan's lack of Zenkai boosts in the Buutenks fight. Is the only answer he got no Zenkai boosts? Was that stated in a Toriyama interview? I always took that as Buutenks taunting Gohan that all him getting healed resulted in was delaying hte inevitable, and that any Zenkai boosts weren't going to be enough of a gain, if he did get one.

I am still struggling to understand the shock of them (not-so) secretly training when they were implied so a couple of times.

Master Roshi, Tien and Piccolo were shown to be able to hold their own against Frieza's force in the RoF arc. Tien, Piccolo and 18 step up to fight against Beerus once. Its not like these guys has jobs that tie them down and prevent them from training too (except farmer Tien who well, his job is a form of training too).

Krillin is the only one who have states that he has retired, didnt stood up to challenge Beerus, and he was the one who have self doubt fighting those Frieza minions because he has turned rusty from lack of fighting. Gohan has become a family man and got defeated during RoF arc. One is a full time police officer while the other is a full time scholar.

And Piccolo has been voicing displease with Gohan not training since Buu arc.

Aside from
Cell
, is there anyone
in the afterlife
who could rise to the occasion if
Frieza declines
?

The rage isn't entirely based off
Frieza alone, although Frieza does further it. But the main issue people have is mostly trolling Buu again. If Frieza were announced for the team to begin with I don't think there'd be much negativity about it - Frieza's a strong character now and this is a battle for the whole universe not just the good guys.

But using Frieza to troll Buu just multiplies the disaster because now not only are we getting trolled with Buu (AGAIN), but Frieza doing it just sours people on *Frieza* more. What could've just been a logical team addition is instead a kick in the balls, and Frieza was already treading on thin ice after RoF turned out to be the worst arc of the series.

Do you really want Buu in this kind of tournament? All they have to do is wait for him to go comatose, and toss his ass off the platform.

Gohan's re-training has been a recurring plot point since RoF.

He's already proved himself in the ring during the exhibition match, and the show's just been making him more and more excited about it. I mean the reason he's even
falling asleep now
is because he's so excited for the tournament that he's preparing for it non-stop.

Any chance this can end with
Buu absorbing Freiza for a sweet transformation and power boost? Get rid of Freiza for good that way!
