Janemba is probably one of the hardest to fit since it takes place while Vegeta is still dead, severally limiting the possible time frame.I still think the Janemba movie and the Tapion one are legit good and I would like them in Canon

Yeah these last 2 movies were very good, but I also liked every movie....even Bio Broly and Slug.
I'll say that these were excellent
Garlic Jr
Worlds Strongest
Broly -1
Bojack
Janemba
Tapion
I don't know if he wants people to keep parroting this but Slaythe already said the next DB game isn't XV3.
I took it to mean it'll be a more traditional fighting game.
Well that game already exists, it's called Hyper Dragon Ball Z and it's amazing. I can't imagine any official game ever surpassing it in terms of gameplay.I hope so. DBZ for the FGC? Now that would be something or make it play like marvel.

I read that all in Goku's Japanese voice with the music playing.
I'd love to make all the movie characters canon. The majority are excellent both in terms of design and characterization.
To be fair thats from Dragon Ball Fusions. The game is ridiculous with its fusion's

The problem now is since Hyper exists I'll be judging future DB fighters against it. I'm sure the next DB fighter will be perfectly fine but I doubt we'd get something as deep as HDBZ. I hope I'm wrong of course. This has an extremely limited roster, no online, no scene and no financial support to become "FGC" though.
If they get a good developer I don't see why the gameplay can't be good in an official game.
Movie 7?
And Gogeta isn't canon yet![]()

I wish Bamco would just tell Arcsys "hey, make a tournament grade fighter, we can't have a mugen fan game taking the FGC" but that would never happen, they don't care about that.

8. But yeah 7 was good too.
I doubt we will ever get another movie unless it takes place during a timeskip that has little implications on the core events.
They haven't proven they can even make a semi competitive DBZ game outside of Budokai 3 and Super DBZ and those were a long time ago.I mean, speaking hypothetically here, but it'd get a better roster, HD fancy graphics and sick super attacks, online modes, single player modes, maybe it'd have proper tag team (not the mugen mess) which could make up for the individual characters being less deep than Hyper DBZ but have new depth through their combinations etc...
On top of that it would receive updates, get an actual scene, and competitive support from Bandai to organize the tournaments.
We're not talking a CC2 naruto game here, we're talking about a potential developer that is used to fighters. They would never make the game super hard(stuff like 1 frame links have no place in a game like that IMO) because they need accessibility, but that doesn't mean it can't be deep.
It's not less dumb that Gohan does it 3 hours when the other two did it in 4 months and 13 years respectively, no. Because we have seen Gohan train with little to no result for an entire year and now magically the same exact training allows him to break all limits. There's no mystery card ( which is terrible writing too, don't get me wrong ) to play like Frieza and 17 that had never trained and have an unknown biology.
xenoverse is ok but there's so much potential with the time travel stuff yet you still end playing the same missions as every DBZ game it is fucking boring
0 chance we get Xenoverse 3 anytime soon. I'd rather they wait.As long as we eventually get a Xenoverse 3 I don't care what this year's main game is.
Side note, even though it's pretty shallow I do enjoy Extreme Butoden and would enjoy a good console 2D fighter.

I feel like they haven't really tried and have no interest in trying. I'd love this mysterious new fighter to have at least some competitive focus but I have my doubts.
That's probably one reason why we aren't getting Xenoverse 3 this year. If it comes out next Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 they'd be able to include everything up through the current arc.0 chance we get Xenoverse 3 anytime soon. I'd rather they wait.
2 times they've missed Super content and had to push it in DLC, with Xenoverse 2 only having movie stuff.
It's not their fault, but it just doesn't look good when Super's been out, there's no Super content, and most people buying it don't understand the reason why.
Starting 2 with Raditz was a terrible idea. The story was weird in the beginning as well, it the movie integration didn't really feel natural until the Frieza missions. Then Cooler fucked everything up. Then the Majin arc salvaged everything.
I've fucking loved Dragon Ball games since Budokai first came out, and while Budokai 3 was a clear franchise high point I've enjoyed most games since then. I just want them to take it further and make something fantastic again.Esports weren't a thing back then though.
Bandai did try to push Naruto as a competitive game, it failed for its own sets of reasons.
They briefly tried with XV and gave up instantly because it's a garbage "competitive" game.
If they were (note the conditional) making a "fighting game" that isn't a 3d simulation game, with some ambition to be present at esports, I would think they have good chances to succeed ?
DBZ games got significantly worse because they made less and less money and they needed new games to make up for loss profit , and they had less and less budgets. Xenoverse, Dokkan Battle and Super saved DBZ.
Enough to get something new out of it, even if it's less profitable for them.
That's my take on it anyway.
You should be optimistic.
The only movie characters that I give a shit about are
Bardock
Future Gohan
Janemba
Meta-Cooler
Broly (in that he sucks and thus generates an emotional reaction from me)
I like the Android 13 and Bardock movies too, but I could really care less that either of them exist.
edit:
Also I will never understand how people remember the names of the movies by number.

I'm of 2 minds here, I just want a playable fighting game, that will probably happen.
But I also want something special and that's a lot less likely.
Whatever it ends up being I'm sure I'll probably like it, I somehow liked Burst Limit! Haha.
Don't let ASW touch it
But he appeared in the anime first.
I agree with everything you say here. Now I'm usually the most optimistic person around, but I did let myself fall into pessimism a bit there. If you turn off the drama piece and focus on the fights, while ignoring the roster, Burst Limit is a pretty good game. It has great combat.
Personally I dislike DBZ games where you can't jump though. But Burst limit was good.
Also, unless there are projects for Nintendo Switch or HOPEFULLY a new mobile game and not this dokkan garbage, I think the only special thing you'll get is the next Xenoverse, which should be far more polished.
Now back to potential fighting games, I feel like this is the first opportunity they actually had, to make such thing.
1) esports are more popular than ever
2) dbz is back full force with super
3) games make a lot of profit which can allow riskier projects
4) They do have Harada, who pushes for Esports within Bandai![]()
Let's cross our fingers.
I've only seen Last Crusade but I love that movie. Mostly for Sean Connery being a goofy dad
ASW already had like 4 tries at DBZ games and they weren't any good, if they make it like their usually games I doubt it'd be any good.
And in the manga. Though my understanding is he's lame in the manga.
Was Future Gohan mentioned in Super's Manga?

If it was pre next gen Capcom I would be on board but the way they fucked up SF 5 I wouldn't want them near a DBZ fighter

Also, with Dragonball games, I am 99% sure whatever the next game is will have janky knee-punching flight.
4K sprite-work DBZ 2D fighter on PS4 Pro.Well first of all, I enjoyed the super sonic warriors games.
But they also never had a shot at a full fledge console game for DBZ. The scope is always greatly limited when it's on handled. (because targeted at kids + bad controls for the genre)
Look at their hokuto no ken game, blazblue and guilty gear. With proper budget and ambition, they could make a sick Dragon Ball game.
