I've been converted to SSJB. It's SSJ with God Ki, and thats a more interesting idea (to me) than just one more step up in the base SSJ form line. When it's drawn well it looks beautiful. Not as gaudy looking as SSJ3 and SSJ4. The blue aura gives a holy vibe.

Yes.

Amazing episode, and amazing game announcement

What if they randomly made Chichi matter more in the Yamcha manga too...
Like highschooler Yamcha accidentally breaks down and clues her into the future too... I need it!

I doubt its her, but the manga mentions someone else might have reincarnated into the world too.

For the ASW DBZ game I hope:

Hercule
Yamcha
Bulma (give her a techno suit)
Yajirobe
Tien
Master Roshi/Jackie Chun
17
Dabura

All of them should be really interesting gameplay wise.

Although out of all of them I only expect 17 and maybe Roshi to make it.

Didn't you mention 18 was in the game? How many games have had only one of the two androids?

If anything if he is not in the base game I expect his chances for DLC would be pretty big considering that he is relevant once again.

I have to say, that reborn as a Z fighter is the least interesting thing about that project. I mean, joke or not, yamcha trained until he was stronger than God. He probably has more determination than your average high schooler. I was hoping they'd lean less on that premise as it went.

he trained even knowing he would not be of much help

he kept doing it until the cell saga! when it was clear he was far, far outclassed

2D games ?

All of them.

Or well not exactly, they had two androids, but it was never 17. It was always 18 with either 20 or 16.

17 has NEVER been playable in a 2d DBZ game. Let that sink in.

I think that was necessary cause Yamcha coming back himself would have probably take a bit longer to set up (and this is supposed to go for only 3 chapters) and Yamcha coming back would stop him from having certain knowledge that only someone from an audience perspective would have (would have Yamcha known about the Guru Unlocking potential?)

Also seems Yamcha is a gag/joke character now, there's also the angle of someone else getting his life together instead of him.

Speaking of which, as neat of a detail it was for that Yamcha to not have the scars, how would the high schooler know of it? It was one of those things the audience never gets to learn about. I guess he just simply trained somewhere else?

Anyway Wolf Fang Fist this game up pls ASW

Uh, that's weird, then again maybe not much considering unlike 18, he was pretty much out of the story after the Cell Games.
Maybe this will be the first time he makes it into a traditional 2D-plane game.

Yeah! Theres only really one moment where Yamcha goofs off as a fighter, and its fucking off with Bulma whilst Goku goes to Roshi's. Otherwise, he was a determined hard worker.

I guess Marron's staying with the group on the island.

So im just going back to catch up on the thread, and one thing I want to point out, I wonder if they are doing a thing where they can get alot out of those 3 designs before they age them up to new character designs.

Good thing this one's 3d lol. Seriously though, why does that distinction matter? 3d and 2d? He's had good luck gettin into non handheld games for the most part, lets go with that.

I think washed up never as cool as he wanted to be yamcha gets his second chance works as well. And, in DB he was a huge martial arts nerd who expositioned tons of stuff during the tourneys. Him having encyclopaedic knowledge of everything definitely wouldn't be a stretch, as hes shown interest in gathering that type of knowledge in the past.

The main issue would still be it would probably take a bit longer to set up for what is a limited manga. Yamcha did seem know a lot (and he was the first one to figured out Jackie Chun was Roshi until Roshi had Nam fool him) but that would still not give him knowledge on stuff that he was not present during the story's run, like Namek.

3 chapters? How in the...
Anyways, obviously, knows krillin, he could have just asked. I've always assumed all the Z fighters knew stuff they weren't present for this way? Just like normal people.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one who felt that Frieza/Goku interaction was a little on the homoerotic side. It made me laugh.

The new fighting game looks dope. I'm honestly getting tired of the same old fighting games over and over again lately. I hope there aren't a million mechanics like the last game I played by those developers, it was too overwhelming for me to even try.

That depends what you mean by 2d.

Because the 2d plane fighter budokai series (not tenkaichi) absolutely had 17 playable.

We'll probably wind up getting Blue anyway. No way they don't throw that in there.

I wouldn't be surprised if Blue was in the game.

Ugh. True, doesn't make much sense to add Golden Frieza, but not Blue Goku. Now I wished it's just a transformation like Frieza lol
If they do decide to add in the Blue versions as separate character, then I hope the roster is huge.

Now the question is are we getting purple haired trunks or blue hair trunks. o: One will be an alternate color anyway

I hate when DB games add transformations as separate characters.

The game looks fantastic and I have faith that ASW will make a competent fighter out of this. Looks just like I wanted Marvel Infinite to look.

Surprising since I've disliked every DBZ game since BT3.

Now that we have this amazing looking fighting game in the pipeline all i need is another legacy of goku style game and all my dbz game wishes will have come true.

Legacy of Gohan: The Great Saiyaman

Persona high school elements + open world environment. Fight criminals and monsters which invade the city.

How could they even make an adventure game out of those, unless you play Goten & Trunks exploring the cruise ship.
Same way they did before though i'm guessing they will combine a lot of the super arcs excet Goku black which can be it's own thing.
For frieza fighting the frieza forces or training arcs something like that
as you can tell i would be shit at developing

For Beerus?
Game starts after the Buu saga, Goku does some errands for Chi-Chi you punch a ton fo wolves. At the end of that segment you punch some dinosaurs. Then toss int he ability to switch to different characters for padding.
Next, you go to King Kai's planet to train. Only problem is, his electricity went out so now you have to go to Hell and fight old villains to get it turned on. Ends with a Cell boss fight.
After the Cell fight, oops Hell's soul cleansing machine gets broken. Janemba gets out again. Play a segment based on that movie.
After Janemba, you switch perspective to Trunks who has to help get things ready for Bulma's party. Only problem is there are bandits. End it by fighting TaoPaiPai .
Switch perspectives again to Gohan who is on the way to work when he notices some crime. You fight goons.
Then Beerus shows up at King Kai's planet. Boss fight.
Then, you play as Vegeta who has to do fetch quests around to appease Beerus.
The Super Saiyan God happens. Beerus waits for you while you grind levels and sidequests.

I still don't get why this isn't one of the Dragon Ball spin-offs. They've got high school and college to work with, it's a nice chunk of time. Plus nothing's really happened in that time frame, everyone lived a normal life, so they won't have to worry about stepping on anyone's toes plot-wise. As a result they'd have plenty room to work with and pretty much do whatever they wanted.

Gohan and Videl high school/college romcom with superhero elements. It should be like the most obvious idea in the world.

My hope for this game is they don't focus too much on "what if" scenarios, and the main storylines of the anime/manga are where the meat of the game is.

Varying degrees of planet busting assholes. I wonder how they're crimes would rank up in hell? I know Freeza is on the black list but Beerus has to be pretty up there.

Beerus and the other gods of destruction are no doubt exempt from ending up in hell regardless of how many people they kill.

Man I've been watching some Kai dub and it really is shit tier. People said it was bad but holy shit is it bad. Everybody just phoned in their performances for the most part. Scenes that were undeniably captivating in the original dub and sub fall flat. Just goes to show direct translation =/= better product.
