Random thought, but I'm a bit bummed Super is going with the "hmph I don't need team work!" angle on Vegeta once again. Vegeta has shown multiple times to be a team player in DB. He's even a better team fighter than Goku who completely sold out Tenshinhan in their duo fight. Vegeta's team work accomplishments:

- Helping Gohan take down Cell by attacking him from behind
- Taking one for the team and self destructing to take Majin Buu down
- Willing to give up his life and (what everyone believed at the time) permanently fuse with Goku
- Suiting up in a silly Monaka costume to keep Goku motivated
- Swallowing his pride and fusing with Goku again when they needed it

He survived it. :V

Since 1 night of training was enough for him to have Goku go SSB+KK to defeat him.

More like Goku wanted to get it over with quickly and one shot. Goku couldn't one punch Vegeta with King Kai Fist in the past and he definitely couldn't do it now.

Yeah, that felt like them trying to invoke old Vegeta. He's clearly different nowadays. Hell, he should have been team leader. He was during the Kid Buu fight.

If I could take anything from dbza and bring it to the canon, it would be Tien. He's so bland in the canon and amazing in the abridged series..
Kiho how ya doin?

Vegeta didn't wear the Monaka costume, Beerus did.

I feel like Vegeta is just talking big right now, when it comes down to the fighting he'll probably team up.

Goku is far stronger than Vegeta. Did you forget about the Tournament arc and Vegeta's embarrassing loss? Even in the Manga, Vegeta admits Goku is stronger. Blue + KK would crush Vegeta.

Anyway we all know Vegeta is going to job once again in this tournament against the grey alien, and it'll be Goku vs the alien. When was the last time Vegeta beat a main villain/antagonist? Never.

Why do people always gotta be ignoring the fact that Gohan's been training for over a year. The one night was to awaken his warrior spirit and get his Ultimate form back.

Ssshhh, don't kill the reductiveness with facts!!

Jeez, I completely remembered that different. I need a rewatch.

Please friend, clearly Hit has to be the one to make Jiren look strong.

Vegeta couldn't think of a way to counter Hit's ability, he didn't even know what was going on. As far as power goes it's best to assume that Goku and Vegeta are equal in the same forms.

Goku can instantly become 10 times stronger though, so that leaves Vegeta as being extremely weak in comparison.

sbbkk only makes goku 2x stronger than sbb, and the way vegeta straight bodied rosé makes it seem like vegeta is around ~1.5x stronger than goku without kaioken.
Wouldn't be surprised if his recent session in the time chamber has put him on the level of ssbkk.

Ofcourse goku still has sbbkk x3-10...

I don't understand why they don't let Vegeta be main character for an arc. Vegeta beating to death a big bad would be the hypest tging ever.
Same with Luffy in OP.
Is there some sort of weird rule in Japan and only the writer of HxH has immunity to it?

well at least wth OP you can feel secure that he'll give your favorite Straw Hat some time to shine, even if it'll take a while.

With DB you gotta constantly be worried Toriyama will troll the shit out of your favorite character unless it's Goku.

Er he's trolling goku too.

Future Trunks was the main character in the last arc. He got the last attack on the main baddies physical form. Plus he got a bunch of spotlight in Z.

Gohan got the spotlight in the Cell arc. Vegeta just sucks, after all these years of him jobbing it would be completely out of his character to win a fight against the main antagonist. Let Vegeta make the other members of the cast look good, that's what he's there for.

He lived through that, hell he walked away from that.
I want to point out 17 hit Trunks like that, and Trunks didn't weather it as well as Tien

That's not a tank.

This is tanking:

You know it always comes back around for him though. Try be a Tien fan. Your character gets trolled, thrown on a shelf for 20 years, taken off just to get trolled again.
I teuly envy people whos favorite character is Goku. This must just be awesome 24/7.

The really sad thing is that I think Goku was everybody's favorite character. Or at least he was around that spot. Like 17 is my fav but I was always rooting for Goku.

It's since Super that I have started to completely resent him.

Is the Dimensional Tournament arc over or are they still on it?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAH

So cute

It hasn't even started.

The wait for this tournament reminds me of being a kid waiting for Goku to finally get to the end of Snake Way.

God imagine if it was one episode a week back then, pure torture.

still thinking that Goku loses to Jiren and the final fight is Jiren vs some random ass remains of U7's team

prolly a tired Freeza, Piccolo and Krillin

That would actually be interesting to watch, but it will never happen. Goku or Gohan.

Are we certain that we will get a full tournament with a clear cut winner, or will there be some sort of "disturbance" like in the Buu saga where there's a big baddy that throws all of this into disarray?

Who could be strong enough to disrupt a tournament being watched by the two Zenos, the angels, and the Gods of Destruction? It's why I'm a little down on having so many invincible guys in the cast, it really limits what they can do in terms of story telling.

It'll be Goku or Gohan. I think Freeza's going to try a swerve at some point and go down that way.

Hopefully it does not get interrupted after all this set up. People kept saying the universe 6 tournament was going to get interrupted but it never did

So I need to distract myself from the long wait for Mario Oddesy, so how about the second episode of GT?

Pan Blasts Off (主役は私!パン宇宙に飛び立つ!!, I’m the Star! Pan Blasts Off into Space!!)

Business Trunks is secret best Trunks.

So is anyone else following Happy Dog Super? I know early impressions were bad with the Battle of Breeds arc and only got worse with Resurrection CAT arcs, but it's honestly gotten better. Happy Dog Black was a unique villain and the upcoming Tournament of Kibbles seems to be finally giving Happy Dog some character development.

The thing I find I come back to the most in these episodes are the character building bits where you see everyone a few years later. Goten has a personality, ChiChi's not a hard-ass. Videl's softened up a bit after her trauma with Stoppovich. It feels refreshing to see the cast like this, and even more so in a post-super world where the series feels designed to last in perpetuity.

[Remember to come up with hilarious zinger about Geet's stache. It's a requirement to talk about if if you do GT, so really think about it.]

"I'll just be walking this way now."

I don't know why I find this funny. Perhaps it's the delivery?

FIRST HALF: 7/10

This robber plot isn't doing anything for me. Even by DragonBall standards, it seems well trodden and mundane. Or maybe I'm just reminded of similar Slump stories with this scheme.

Kale's "Absolutely Disgusting" meme face VS Pan's. Who wins?

It's so bad that we spend so little time with this Goten. He actually has a unique personality apart from all the others: A romantic, girl-obsessed guy who isn't a total perv. Too bad GT itself seems up in the air if it happened at this point.

mfw I realize I have 62 more episodes to go.

2ND HALF: 5/10
TOTAL: 6.5/10

Hell, it was even worse for me. You would get spurts where they would deliver lots of new episodes, then run out and restart the entire fucking series again.

It'll be Goku or Gohan. I think Freeza's going to try a swerve at some point and go down that way.

it could be Krillin, 17 and Piccolo too

what with 17 and Krillin having an awkward relationship before the tournament, so something should make them come closer

it could change Piccolo with, say, Tenshinhan, given that Piccolo and 17 are already bros before the tourney

Possible team ups:

Goku + Gohan
Goku + Roshi + Krillin + Tenshinhan
Goku + Freeza
Gohan + Piccolo
Piccolo + 17
Krillin + 18
Vegeta + Freeza
Vegeta + 18

If U6 teams up:

Goku + Hit
Freeza + Frost
Hit + Frost
Vegeta + Cabba + Cauli + Kale
Roshi + Cauli + Kale

Unlikely but possible team ups:
Vegeta + Magetta
17 + 18 + Magetta
Gohan + Cabba

What other team ups are possible you think?
