Let me know. We can play through together!I never finished Octopath Traveler but I'm I'm going to be playing Octopath Traveler II sometime this year
Koichi Sugiyama did the music. Interestingly, it seems he agreed with you about orchestrated DQ music during gameplay--he was fairly infamous for preferring synth music in the games, and live music during concerts.I get to attached to Akira Toriyama artstyle and music, so I not really feeling the little changes into the OST at all.
Yeah, I am more in the camp of preferring live orchestrations over synth stuff as well.Koichi Sugiyama did the music. Interestingly, it seems he agreed with you about orchestrated DQ music during gameplay--he was fairly infamous for preferring synth music in the games, and live music during concerts.
Can't say I'm in the same boat though, I think the orchestrations are gorgeous renditions during gameplay even if I already own these versions on CD.
I don’t care what anyone says, I fucking love 2D-HD visual style…..cant wait for this game. Here's several news screenshot from Squeenix. The HD-2D art style they're using looks really good imo.
Looks very cool. Reminds me of the DS remakes, just in HD.Here's several news screenshot from Squeenix. The HD-2D art style they're using looks really good imo.
I think because they have more pixels compare to Octopath and Triangle Strategy.Only thing that weirds me out a bit is that the sprites seem to be a bit too tall? Maybe it's just me.
Yeah, they are definetly more detailed than in other HD-2D games, and way less chibi than those in the DS remakes.I think because they have more pixels compare to Octopath and Triangle Strategy.
I think with the sprite they want to capture late Akira Toriyama’s artstyle which gives its own distinct look instead of looking too much like Octopath (loved that game) but still has 2D-HD visual style.Yeah, they are definetly more detailed than in other HD-2D games, and way less chibi than those in the DS remakes.
Ummmm…….YES!!!!So, If I adore Octopath traveller 2...Will this be my next big thing? I've never played these DQ's
Dragon Quest combat is extremely simplistic, even more so than Octopath. Just picture Octopath without boosts or breaks and this is what you get. It will feel very familiar. Even the overworld gameplay will feel similar. So, If I adore Octopath traveller 2...Will this be my next big thing? I've never played these DQ's
Be advised that DQ is the prototypical JRPG series. Because it literally is. So the combat and game structure will be more basic but it is very nicely paced, presented and executed upon. I'd argue that a big charm of DQ is that it just does the basics so well that I doesn't "feel" basic, in a sense. So, If I adore Octopath traveller 2...Will this be my next big thing? I've never played these DQ's
Play the Star Ocean 2 HD-2D remake you heathens.
Did they increase walking speed compared to the original or is it the same because it looks pretty fast to me
Hm, i personally doubt there's a run button, do other Dragon Quest games have a run button?Maybe there pressing the run button
Dragon Quest 11 does.Hm, i personally doubt there's a run button, do other Dragon Quest games have a run button?
- 2 graphics modes on console: Framerate (60fps) or Graphics (4K)
I’m confused by this as well. Wasn’t Octopath 2 4K 60fps? I was certain it was when I played it.Wtf?
This should be 4K 120fps on 5 and SX
In my opinion this one will have have lot of QoL which will make the experience much smoother and the visuals absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. Is it worth playing the original version of this game on the switch or should I just wait for this one?
Maybe play an other DQ game like 7,8,11. I personally would wait for the hd-2d remake. Is it worth playing the original version of this game on the switch or should I just wait for this one?
Play the original NES version in Japanese. Is it worth playing the original version of this game on the switch or should I just wait for this one?
100%So, If I adore Octopath traveller 2...Will this be my next big thing? I've never played these DQ's
What ya mean with inconsistent? Haven't noticed anything.Yes, do that instead.
This version will have tons of censorship and looks horrendous and inconsistent, forget about it.

Sugar Isogu, its some indie game that is still being worked on.What game is that?
Yeah, like Edmix said, it's an upcoming indie action brawler called Sugar Isogu. I think the developer plans to release it next year (or maybe just a demo for next year?) and will also be doing a console release on PS, Xbox, and Switch. What game is that?
