For those who haven't been following, the story is that Pan is kidnapped by the Red Ribbon Army. Two new powerful androids have been created: Gamma 1 & Gamma 2. Gohan & Piccolo fight them and are supported by Goten and Trunks who, yes, have finally aged to teenagers.

There also appears to be a sub plot about Goku & Vegeta training on Beerus' planet. They get visited by Broly.

No word on when the TV anime will come back. I don't think it will. Instead they'll do movies. But who knows.

I'm pretty tired of Goku and Vegeta doing everything. Its nice to see Piccolo and Gohan get the spotlight for a change. Afterall there's a reason Tournament of Power was Super's best arc: because the writers actually let other characters fight.

So the reason for Piccolos new look is apparently because he took the Kai's up on the offer to have the "Ultimate" form unlocked for him, so when he powers up into the new colours it's the same as Gohan's "Ultimate" power up. Which then begs the question, THIS WAS EVEN MENTIONED DURING THE RUN UP TO T/O/P, why doesn't everyone just spend a damn day with the Kai's to get the power up??? Goku and Vegeta, yeah sure, they're doing their own shit but with it now being confirmed the "Ultimate" form highly boosts both Saiyan and Namekian why not give it to the Humans too? Or at the very least Trunks and Goten?

Only certain species/physiologies might be able to use Kaioken. Afterall, Cell didn't use it despite having access to Kamehameha, Instant Transmission, and Zenkai Boost. In this case, maybe only a pure blood Saiyan can use it out of the cast of characters. Vegeta would be too proud to use his enemy's technique so he's out.

Which is why I'm curious for this movie at least as to why Piccolo decided to get the Kai boost, but knowing Dragon Ball it'll just be some off screen comment "oh I was bored hanging around the Kai's one day".

Only anime you missed is the Broly movie, which is canon. You'll wanna check it out because it has some of the the best animation in the franchise and this movie is a followup.

- Final villain is indeed a new variant of Cell. He is more powerful than DBZ but lacks full brain function due to being released from his chamber early, so he is more like a mindless monster.
- Vegeta beats Goku in a sparring match at base form.
- Bulma wishes for a bigger ass.
- Beerus is jealous of Broly because Cheelai likes him, whom he has a crush on.
- Goten and Trunks forgot how to become Super Saiyan due to lack of training. So they fuse into Gotenks but do the fusion dance wrong and become Fat Gotenks.

I saw the whole camrip lol. This straight up might be my favorite Dragonball movie. Its a love letter to the Android saga. And my man Piccolo is indeed the main character, finally getting a much deserved spotlight.

The action isn’t as good as Broly and the graphics don’t look good in every single scene, but its a damn good movie.

At least they found an interesting way for Goku and Vegeta to be away as they'd utterly destroy the "antagonists" here.

Oh thats all but a certainty! Only question is if the next movie will be Cooler or Android 21. I’d put my money on Cooler, they’re saving 21 for later I think. Moro is too long for a movie, if they adapt it they’ll save it for if the tv show comes back.

Yeah, I'd think it's high time for Cooler to be main timeline canon but it wouldn't surprise me if Toriyama also gives him a make over similar to how Super Broly is different to movie Broly.

Also it was good to see the Gero family tree but I just learned now that the puns for Gero and his family are puns on vomiting/heaving and I'm facepalming for not realizing it much sooner.

Yep fully cg, with some hand drawn flourishes/effects throughout. I won't lie and say it always looks good or is Pixar quality, but I promise its many times better than Zoids or Reboot lmao
