Also, forgive the double post. But are there really only 10 vocations? No true hybrids, apart from that warfarer thing? They say trickster is a hybrid, but it seems to have no direct attack, and that has issues for other reasons(since it depends on your pawns, and well...your pawns can be dumbasses at times and I never actually RELY on them).
If so, that's gonna be disappointing. It's not just about the combining magic with arrows, or magic with spears or whatever, it's about dual weapons and and the skills they confer. It's what made the Warrior vocation such a pain. Limited skill set, only one weapon, no evade/block/counter, no anti-air. Sticking to only one weapon can severely limit you in combat, especially with how the game was balanced. God I hope they don't lean more into that Metal Golem/Wraith route of design philosophy, where you pretty much need a specific type of attack or spend an eternity trying to kill that enemy. Because that'd really screw over one weapon people, and even carrying an extra weapon would only slightly helps in some cases.
Hopefully, the game and monsters are balanced differently this time. But even stuff like having the ability to roll when using Striders, Rangers, Assassins, Magick Archer, as well as being able to mount enemies for thousand kisses when being ranged wasn't really an option was pretty good. Or simply to have ranged options when dealing with flying enemies. It's why I disliked Mage/Sorceror as well and loved Assassin-thousand kisses, masterful kill, and fivefold flurry-chef's kiss. Running around as a sorceror, trying to find some spot to cast or pre-emptive casting was pretty boring to me, especially since all it took was simply to trigger it and wait. That class would have been a complete wash to me if it wasn't for spell syncing and the wonders of Holy Focused Bolt.
Man, I also hope they fix the blinding maelstron attack, the sometimes borked climbing(climbing in a circle on some large enemies shoulder and not knowing which direction you're going in, enemy doing an action and you end up on the opposite side of it) and fucked camera when you climb, and large enemy collissions(get a couple large enemies in a single space and lots of weird things start to happen when they collide or get forced into smaller areas), better indicators when a pawn dies(Death will sometimes take one out, they leap or get knocked off to their deaths and I never know until I check) and better commands. I'd prefer detailed commands, but just just those basic old commands without them affecting my pawn inclination would be good. Just being able to tell my pawn to disengage, engage X mob, or help me would be great, without affecting their inclinations which I have to set up again or buy an elixir for.
