Dragon's Dogma 2 |OT| Pawnworld

This is probably the second biggest disappointment I had next to Cyberpunk(but there is a HUGE gap). I've written the game off for now.

I tried to love this game and there are some great bits, but overall it just hates the person playing it - so many annoying mechanics. Poured 30 hours in then had to delete it for my own wellbeing.

I'm craving for more. The sense of adventure of this game was (is) unmatched.

I would not be against a passionate dev/director taking the reins and develop an expansion. There is so much potential here.

One of my greatest moments of this generation was my daughter guiding me (according to her capricious whims) through DD2 mountainside at pitch black night and finding the Griffons Nest.

I completely agree that the sense of adventure and wanderlust in this game is unrivalled.

What were your issues with it?
It's worse version of the first game, minus the DLC. The fact they made the same exact mistakes the second time around feels intentional, like they were holding back stuff for an expansion. And now with the reception, and it kind of fell off, I don't even think we will get an expansion, so you might as well play the first one. DD1 is just better, significantly so, other than graphics.

Honestly I think it was my overall expectations based off my experience with the original game. I expected something more in line with the first game, but better. It wasn't bad...just not better IMO.
Gameplay is fun for a while but it boils down to just being soulless...too clean. This video comparing RE4 with RE4R illustrates the difference between Old Capcom and New Capcom. And you can see similar patterns with a lot of their franchises. Better tech but less passion. Difference is staggering.

We are seeing this with RE, Dogma and now Monster Hunter. Very sad.
