Ok so I can get one of these guns - SEGA DREAMCAST MADCATZ LIGHTGUN

But my question is do they work on lcd monitors? Right now I play my dc thru my LCD with the composite in. Do these things only work on a regular tv?

I used the light gun on a VGA monitor...many years back.

No, light guns work by detecting the electron gun in CRTs. LCD tvs do not have an electron gun.

Yes it will work on a CRT, as long as the signal is standard NTSC. A progressive signal won't work, unless the game accounts for it.

If the VGA adapter outputs a progressive signal, it won't work.

Well, PAL 60 might work.

Each cosole has its own. For the Xbox, you only need a cable. There are several VGA adapters for DC, just google it.

Time Crisis 2 and 3 (that may be 'or', can't remember) runs in progressive. Was just playing it the other day.

Lightguns only work on CRT sets. I tallk about it here...

i am looking for light gun games for DC only 2 seem good.. is the selection better on PS2?

PS2 owns the genre. Time Crisis 2, 3, Zone plus many more.

basically i really want to try house of the dead 2 for dreamcast with the guns, but if there is so much more for ps2 i'll get that
