WhyThat's got to be one of the most ironic things I've ever read in quite some time.
Holy shit I just saw a clip made in Dreams of MGS1! This is so good! I love the community when it gets creative
You can do literally anything, really. Can you make animations/movies in Dreams?
How easy/hard is it to make games on dreams?
I'm wondering too. Would it be good for a 9 year old?
I would say no because a typical 9yr old doesn't have the attention span to build something from scratch with so little knowledge so it might not be fun. On the flip side, maybe your kid gets mesmerized and obsessed in this and could insipre him/her in the future for coding/game design etc. It would be great to have a skill starting so young. I wish I was as good in photoshop as I am now but if I was waaay younger. Could of done much more with it. Id say go for it.
Depending on what you want to make and how deep you want to go, ranging from as easy as picking assests and arranging them, to full on game development. How easy/hard is it to make games on dreams?

Yes, found out yesterday. While I was in Dreams yesterday, someone sent me a link to one of their creations via a comment on one of my tweets. Is there a way to like...queue up a dream from the in Dreams website to play on your console later?
Dope.Yes, found out yesterday. While I was in Dreams yesterday, someone sent me a link to one of their creations via a comment on one of my tweets.
All I had to do was click the link, which took me to the creations inDreams page and click on the play game button. Instantly loaded the creation on my PS4.
There also was a button to put the creation on standby for later.

This is perfect for them.
Only if you want to sculpt.Would you recamend getting the wand controllers? Is is worth the purchase for it?
Guys I'm gonna try to create a dream without any help from others I just need to know something first ..
Which option in the game to create a whole dream .. ? I get confused .. I mean there are many option to start but which one ?
Yeah, ok so we got the game can anyone point me to a absolute getting started tutorial?
the beginners tutorials in Dreams do a good job of that. Have you checked them out?
Less YouTube links, more indreams links.
Made a marriage proposal, in Dreams. ❤
How long did it take you to make this?
While I think it looks great, that is still quite some time to create something that is less as a minute. I can't imagine how much time some of the levels that you see in the videos above took to make.7 - 8 hours, I think. A bit longer than I expected.
Keep in mind that I only do animations. So the assets you see and the audio you hear are all made by others.
Yup, I could've done it in less time, at a lower quality. While I think it looks great, that is still quite some time to create something that is less as a minute. I can't imagine how much time some of the levels that you see in the videos above took to make.
I really have to dive in the creating part myself.

That's the thing, the higher quality animations you want, the more time you need to invest into tweaking.
Like our project, Project Ikelos:
For example, all the movement animations you see, I completed in a day total.
That's for all the movements in and out of combat stance, incl the 4 dodge animations (btw, we had at least double the amount of movement animations but had to scrap a lot at the time due to thermo being a bottleneck)
However, the tweaking process has taken months and countless hours, incl the attack animations due to the nature of the combat system.
Creating animations is easy. Making them look flawless is a tedious task that takes time.
*also I'm still an amateur who knew literally nothing about creating animations when I started using Dreams.
So a professional will undoubtly know more efficient ways.
Lol I totally get that.Didn't realize that making great games in Dreams is so time consuming. Of course I realized that the games you see in all the videos above takes tons of time. But actually it is even more if you really want to make great quality?
It's incredibly time consuming. I tried to do a simple object. XSX, Takes like 5 minutes in Blender to create. In Dreams, I spent half an hour trying to place geometry where I wanted and then gave up. The worst part of it is constantly having to recenter the imp. After three moves it's stuck on a side - with all three of my controllers. And if you turn off motion controls the whole control scheme gets even worse.Didn't realize that making great games in Dreams is so time consuming. We wanted to make a full game in 3 months, now with the quality we are striving for, we've only managed to release one trailer a month ago and our demo released last week.
Yes, it works really intuitive once you get the hang of it.Did the quests yesterday.. moving the controller around to control it was hard for me.. Do you eventually get used to it?
The only real annoyance is the cursor drift, they really should try to fix that. But even that is something you learn to live with and you'll be re-centering automatically (although it'll sometimes be very frustrating).
Good luck, taking the time is key.Yeah I get that.. Thanks I will put more time into getting used to it..
let us know when your game is done; maybe eventually we'll have a GAF dreams game thread.
