I know but it's just not appearing on my PS4, it's still in the announcements section on the Android app, but not on my PS4.
They still haven't fixed the game for people who bought a retail copy.

Not just retail but digitally too. I can log in, but I can't get any races going. Every time I register for a race it counts down, there are others in the lobby, but I get kicked because it can't connect to them.

The servers are finally starting to get noticeably better. Well for me they are anyway. Everytime I start the game up I get a connection, I can get multiplayer games 90% of the time I have tried and at last got leaderboards with human ghosts working once. Still feels like it is going to be a long way off until it is fully functioning how it is suppose to though.

9 days after having this game, I've been able to do exactly ZERO regarding any of the online stuff. Ok, I take that back. I was able to start creating a club (after several failed attempts) in so much as I was able to name a Club. Then I lost connection again and have been able to do nothing since. No online races, no club activity, no challenges that are supposed to pop up during the single player game. It's beyond ridiculous.

Maybe they're waiting for Contrast 2 to be made, so that when they cancel the PS Plus Edition, they can offer that instead!

Turns out there isn't a "fix servers" button. Who could have guessed.
I just thought, if they're having this many problems with servers with people who have already bought a copy, why on earf would they put out a free version and potentially dig themselves in an even deeper hole of server trouble?

Won't happen, but the fact that Evo are not even mentioning the PS+ edition whatsoever in their updates has me worried it will be some time off.
I'm sure it will eventually release once they are confident their servers are at an acceptable level to handle the additional load the free edition will generate
I mean, I usually wait until it is actually there on the store to download immediately...

I have the game too but I have not played since I got tired of waiting for those damn servers.
There are cars locked out unless you join a rank up with a club.... but I cant even go online once. The game keeps remind you at every opportunity it has to go online but is just damn annoying now since you cant.

Yeah I stopped playing too. I wanted to play the game as it was meant to be played - with the online integration, challenges, etc. I can't believe I'm still waiting for that to happen.

I think it's region and time based. Tried during the day and nothing yesterday, but have had good luck three nights in a row from about 8 to 1am.
Last night challenges were popping up in tour races, hadn't seen that yet. Cool feature, random online challenges, like 4 or 5 per race.
US Central region by the way.

Seriously? The damn online is broken. Evo is trying to fix it. Opening the flood gates with an onslaught of users from the ps+ version wont help anything at all. I want the ps+ version too, but ffs, Im willing to wait while things get fixed.
