I am absolutely in love with the single player/offline part of the game - purely the driving and the cars and the tracks and the visuals and the audio and changing conditions - so goood. But then add the online on top with the clubs and leaderboards which are all integrated throughout whatever you do and...
That's so true, I thought the single player was great and typically, I start with that and tend to stick to TT and custom offline races, but man, tasked with leveling up your club, it's flipplin' crack rock.
Once you can join a club, it's a different game. And that's without the typical psycho MP mode even considered. Once Challenge mode is working, essentially half the game similar to FM rivals modes, all while helping level up your club, good stuff indeed.
So yeah, looking forward to the servers working as designed.
And again, in a few months, with added cars, tours, challenges, tracks, weather, all those missing features in, it'll be a different game.
I think it's great Evo has a long term vision for this, to really
evolve (har har) this with more content and features.
But sure, it does beg the question if Sony did rush this or not with a strict date after the delay. Missing photo mode, replay mode, custom lobbies, etc.
And this is personal perception, but it was night and day from Playgrounds FH2 launch. I know they had some launch issues with online as well, but they really seemed to have their ducks in a row. Early copies out for reviews, demo done, everything smooth sailing for launch. And for the most part, it went great.
Just makes you wonder how much support Evo really got from Sony, in several aspects.
Far from the "Sent to Die" hyperbole in certain podcasts, but it just seems, again personal perception, that it could have been a lot better.
