No, it's more like since they're having server trouble now. Releasing a free version that 1-2 million people would try out, could only make things worse. It's seriously not out yet?
Almost suspicious considering you can buy it right?

Yeah, I hear you. Not even like "a month" or "early next week". Like you said, knowing they're working on it is fine, but we don't know the extent of the progress they're making. Are they halfway done? 90% ready for full online? Not even a hint of an ETA is what bugs me. I know they're going day by day, which makes sense, especially when you're still trying to find the problem, but once you're talking about hitting a milestone where the 'majority of players can connect online' (which seems dubious as is), that's the moment when you bring up some kind of light at the end of the tunnel. Is this game going to be fully up and running in days, or weeks? Are we going to still have issues in mid November? What are reasonable expectations? What little has been said provides no guidance other than "we're working on it", which while certainly true, imparts no real information and sets no reasonable expectations.
It still should give pause, I think. It's one thing for a few days of being late, but a few weeks with minimal word AND the game is screwed up... and it's a racing game rather than a huge online experience... well, what gives?
But I still think that any compensation more than free Plus time for the time the game wasn't provided or wasn't fully functional for those that DID buy it is enough. Certainly so if Microsoft went and gave a free game to people for a few days of really bad service.

At the rate we are going I doubt it is gonna come out this month. I think it is something to be pretty pissed about, especially for those that paid for the game. I was gonna use the PS+ as an extended demo...hopefully pushing me to buy it. The problem is the game is now pushing into the Fall/Winter chaos and is more than likely going to get lost for me till it is cheap as sin next year. Overall, a massive screw up.

I want to play this game so bad I want to beat my best friend in Time Trial but I refuse to support such a shitty project! I wont give EVO my money!
I must be strong!
Considering how everything DC does is bog standard I'd love to know all of these other games that are doing what DC is. Because I sure as hell haven't played em.

How cynical will the reaction be next time an in development full game is offered as a PSPlus launch title at a Sony conference? Really sours a good news item into something negative - i.e. the inability to meet expectations.
Funny that someone so prolific in the Horizon 2 thread would pop in here to post that link.
There is a rather disturbing tendency to turn the fault towards the PS+ subscribers that want to enjoy their Driveclub game. "Oh you're getting it for free anyways, so stop demanding/stop fuming" kind of posts. "Oh you're getting it for free so you don't have any right to complain" kind of posts.
I say it is disturbing because access to Driveclub is something that Sony promised to PS+ subscribers. So people bemoaning others that demand stuff Sony itself has promised but failed to deliver is, in my eyes, a very fine description of corporate apologist.
Multiplayer is the only thing held back by the PS+ subscription.Out of interest, do you also need PS+ to access the features that aren't working in the retail Driveclub, or are they an exemption from the PS+ required for online play thing? (I don't recall if leaderboards were included in that)
Lol! Just release it Evo! Do it.

Hahahaha. Sony wants you guys to get impatient and buy their broken product. No chance they put a warning or remove it.Sony should really put some sort of disclaimer on the store page if not pull the game altogether until it's fixed.
cool_dude has an history of shit posting in DriveClub threads, though. This really needs to stop. If someone who has 17 post in the FH2 is accused of having a ulterior motive, does that mean my 121 post in that thread mean I am actively committing DDoS attacks on the drive club servers?
Size isn't the issue at all... if it was I'd be mentioning how big the records are (even hypothetically). It's the sheer number of records. Conservative estimate, say there are 100,000 people online at any one time. That's 100,000 people reading and writing tens or hundreds of times a minute to different areas of whatever database they have on there. Regardless of the size of the data they're reading, it's how many people can read and write this data simultaneously that's the issue (and why they had the "one in, one out" restriction).
I'm just applying a rudimentary understanding of how databases work to what's likely affecting performance. Really not stretching anything at all.

Offering 'help' to get a refund in a thread dedicated to the free version of a game has something really amusing, don't you think?

That I agree with you. I was just trying to offer Shaneus some mitigating circumstances. #AceAttorneyStyleIf he has a history of trolling call him out for that, not where he post. I'm currently tied for the most post in the FH2 OT but I shouldn't be afraid of posting in any thread because of that.
The FAILCLUB logo, probably helps... /sI've heard people get refunds just by chatting to Sony customer support. I don't know what benefit a Facebook page has to be honest...
Yeah, that was pretty much it. Wasn't so much the posting in the H2 thread, just the shitposting in every single DC thread is what I was calling him out on. #SustainedThat I agree with you. I was just trying to offer Shaneus some mitigating circumstances. #AceAttorneyStyle
Exactly. I'm inclined to think that perhaps there really isn't much more code optimisation they can do and now it's more about how to share/even out the load (perhaps move one section of the online component to another array of servers? Like either MP or challenge scores or something like that). I'm sure there are some components of online that don't have to be as snappy as the ghost/challenge requests. That's pretty much it, whatever you design will provide a certain level of performance depending on the underlying hardware and software you use to build. Having seen what it's like when a database goes south on performance it becomes a nightmare sometimes chasing bottleneck after bottleneck, where you can only identify subsequent bottlenecks by pushing to your production servers.
Still not out yet? What a joke of a company. GG Sony.

God, coming into this thread is really depressing and not for the fact that the PS+ edition isnt up yet (Although that does make me rather sad) but because of all the hyperbole from some people.
What a joke of a company Seriously? Yeah its bad for fans who wanted to try the PS+ version out but if this 1 thing is enough to confirm a company is a joke then maybe your grading of companies needs to be tweaked a bit.
Honest Sony is quite honest.

Yes, they have been nothing but crystal clear and forthcoming with Driveclub since the official reveal. Quite honest.
Ha, I assume you're in the "it's broke, but just buy it!" club? I will echo what most say, Sim City got shit, BF4 got shit, Diablo 3 got shit ... but holy fuck do people flock to defend this broken mess.
You're literally saying that the broken game and PS+ edition delay isn't worse than the complaining ...
This company has worked on this one product for years. And it's not working. "oh but parts of it work" ... only in gaming can somebody get away with shipping a partly functional product and have people come to its defense. What a sad state we're in, even broken products are getting a free pass and having people defend them. "hey guyz, at least they tried, right?".
I don't want anybody to lose their job, I don't want anybody's "heads to roll". I would just like gamers not to be so willing to put up with this shit. The reason "broken launches" are so normal is because we throw money at them even when it is broken. Shit, in this thread people re saying "just buy it if you want to play it!". What kind of back asswards logic is that? I can't play the PS+ edition because it's broken so just buy the full broken retail version to try "parts" of it? And the people complaining are the ones that are crazy?
U can play it already tho. It's out now, unlike the last guardian. Unless you think you'll get plus version of the last guardian too?I look forward to playing this after I get The Last Guardian for PS4
Would you be happy to get the PS+ edition now and experience subpar online features that are not yet fixed ? Evolution wants the Ps+ edition to be a showcase of their game, that's why it's delayed so you can taste a fully functional experience.

its as simple as that.
Who, Sony or EVO?they failed to honor their commitment. whether unintentionally or deliberately, they misled consumers. simple enough for ya?
