There's better GBA ARPGs out there for sure, but CBJ was pretty unique. It's better than CIMA at least.
Specifically he said he'd potentially be interested if Sony got a stable network going, but it was clear he has no intention of doing so now. The PSO DS thing was part of a larger rumor that Puyo Puyo Fever DS and it were headed to DS. And it half came true already. Given Nintendo's new network focus, I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen in some form.SolidSnakex said:They're all rumors right now. The only portable Naka's specifically mentioned that he's interested in bringing PSO too is the PSP though.

But I just spent $200 on a 15 GB iPod and a car kit from a friend a few weeks back. I have no money, but I wasn't really planning on buying a PSP right away. Now my friend tells me today he saw PSP's (not the pack) for 150 bucks in a store in a nearby mall yesterday. I think he must have seen something wrong. There's no way. Fuck, I'm broke nigga I'm broke. I'm afraid to drive there to check and they're actually $150. No. Can't be. NOOOO.

considering it is missing any sort of gps tracking system, no it can't.AssMan said:PSP can act as a GPS? Holy crap. I think that's great.
Agreed. Xai WS had me contemplating importing a WSC just for it.Ignatz Mouse said:And damnit, we need Devil Dice (with an expanded puzzle mode) for PSP!

I *think* Fever mode can turned off in the options for all versions.Ignatz Mouse said:Q: Does Puyo Pop Fever have a straight, classic mode? Or does it have "enhancements" that change the gameplay?
Out of the stuff out right now, I'd say most of it looks GBA caliber (Kirby, Yoshi, Harvest Moon, Egg Monster Hero, Puyo Fever, etc). There's upcoming games like Castlevania though and really, Princess Crown could be run on DS flawlessly too (with resolution adjustments) if Atlus ported it.chespace said:I want to see some hot 2D shit on DS. Jarrod, what are some hot 2D games on DS? With sprite filled shitstorms a la Guardian Heroes Advance (that doesn't count. it's a GBA game) or huge detailed sprites like Princess Crown?

I love AGH, but now I kinda wish Treasure had waited a little bit for a DS release instead. That engine almost breaks the GBA. :/
I'm still not 100% convinced it's DS but it does seem to be the most likely home. Either GBA or PSP are still plausable too though imo.chespace said:Wait for Gunstar Heroes then.![]()
Well, I think a lot of it is just waiting to have some of these games revealed. It wouldn't surprise me if Viewtiful Joe DS was sprite based, or maybe sprites on ploygon bgs like Strider 2. Slime Morimori 2 looks like it has real potential too, and no doubt Four Swords DS will look great being based off the GC build.chespace said:And yeah, Princess C. could be ported to DS, but that doesn't negate the fact that it's not coming out for DS. Just sucks... if the DS wants to be a 2D machine (like most of these touch games I've been playing are ALL 2D), why doesn't it have better looking 2D games?
I think it looks pretty visually blah but I've only seen screens. Might look better in motion. Ganbarion making it doesn't inspire faith though imo.chespace said:I hope Jump Superstars isn't shit. (or touch for that matter)
Drinky Crow said:Oh, and Wipeout Pure is SO. DAMN. GOOD. Wish the tracks were a little longer, but Pure mode ownz me.
Drinky Crow said:I dunno, I'm shockingly happy with MGA, Darkstalkers, Wipeout, and Untold Legends. I'd like to get Ridge Racers and Lumines, too, now that I've seen them, but despite their quality, they just aren't as compelling to me.
I dunno; the PSP launch is one of the best I've seen, right up there with the Dreamcast. I can't think of any other system that launched with as many excellent, polished games.
I agree. I love the PSP launch list of titles. Although I'd add the Xbox on your list.Drinky Crow said:I dunno, I'm shockingly happy with MGA, Darkstalkers, Wipeout, and Untold Legends. shpankey said:To me, those 3 were AAA and kept me playing forever. I prefer quality over quantity. And since Halo is one of my greatest games of alltime, I loved it's lineup. I know what your thinking... Oddworld right? But I loved it. It still has the best cutscenes of alltime (bar none) and the ending was incredible. The gameplay was fun although it had some framerate probs. Anyhow, most people hated it so I know it's hard to understand. But I really did love it.
Naw, Saturn & SNES had excellent launches lineups (quality >>> quantity), both way better than Genesis imo. Xbox was great too, GameCube was decent and PS2 had an underrated launch imo. Oh and Game Boy also had Super Mario Land, Alleyway, Tennis and Baseball at launch. GBC had Tetris DX, Wario Land 2 and Game & Watch Gallery 2.SonicMegaDrive said:SNES had a crummy launch. As did Saturn. PS2 and PsX were Meh. The original Game Boy only launched with...Tetris. Game Cube's launch lineup was embarassing. I dont' recall the Xbox lineup being anything special either.

Really? Huh, I always thought it launched in August. :/SonicMegaDrive said:But the Game Boy launched in June of 1989 with Tetris as a pack-in.
In August, Nintendo finally released its first wave of games with Super Mario Land, Tennis, Baseball, and Alleyway.
Nope, it launched with Virtua Fighter (pack in), Clockwork Knight, Panzer Dragoon, Daytona USA, Worldwide Soccer & World Series Baseball (every game was decent to great, especially at the time and nicely varied overall). Astal and Bug followed in the summer. Shinobi Legions and ROTK IV weren't until fall iirc.SonicMegaDrive said:Btw, the Saturn launched in May of 1995 along with Astal, Virtua Fighter, Clockwork Knight, Daytona USA, Panzer Dragoon, Romance IV: Wall of Fire, and Shinobi Legions. And I bought each and every game for that launch(What can I say, I was hyped.)
Wipeout and Destruction Derby weren't launch iirc, but there were other games I think. Warhawk maybe wasn't launch too. Air Combat came days after launch though.SonicMegaDrive said:Edit: And for comparison's sake, The PSX launch: September 1995 with Ridge Racer, Wipeout, Rayman, Destruction Derby, Twisted Metal, WarHawk, Battle Arena Toshinden

shpankey said:Didn't Resident Evil also launch for Playstation? Playstation had a great launch IMO. If I remember right, they had a really good Gameday game, Resident Evil, Wipeout, Ridge Racer, Warhawk (great game here and is so underrated now) and a really good inhouse basketball and hockey games from 989... Shootout and they hockey name eludes me.
WSB and WWS were both definitely launch and Bug definitely wasn't (it was August iirc). Astal was in July. Those were the only 2 games released until the "official" launch September 2nd 1995. So Saturn launch was...SonicMegaDrive said:Really? I could have sworn on my life I got Astal and Bug both at launch. Because I had mine reserved at a Funco Land, and picked it up the day it came out along with the games.
Edit: Okay, I did a little research, and I can't find any site that puts Shinobi and ROTK IV under launch(or WSB for that matter), so I'm gonna say those weren't launch titles.
So, the launch games were: VF, Daytona, Clockwork Knight, Bug, Panzer Dragoon, and Worldwide Soccer.
BTW, I found an interesting thread over at Digital Press on this very subject here --> http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22679&highlight=saturn+launch
