Due to the extremely high consumer demand for the Xbox, its supply is limited in Poland (and other Eastern European countries)

When we enter price comparison sites in search of Microsoft consoles, we won't find much there. While the Xbox Series S is still available at its standard price, the Xbox Series X can now only be found at Neonet, and at the frightening price of $3399. As a reminder, the PlayStation 5 Pro can currently be purchased in some places at a lower price - the amounts range from 3299-3499 PLN.
Interestingly, even the option to purchase the hardware directly through the Microsoft Store is unavailable. Here I also checked the cheaper variant, the Xbox Series S. And as expected, this one can still be purchased. I asked Microsoft via email about what is actually happening with the Xbox Series X on the market, and got this answer:
Due to high consumer demand for Xbox Series X consoles, its supply is limited during the holiday season in Poland.
At the same time, we would like to inform that Xbox Series S is still available for purchase nationwide. Gamers are encouraged to visit xbox.com/regions for more information on Xbox gaming options.
It seems that supply is also limited in Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic:messenger_sun::messenger_moon::messenger_peace:.

Ahahah good one.

Reality:
The unavailability of the Xbox Series X in markets such as Poland and some European countries is largely due to Microsoft's strategic shift to focus on cloud gaming and subscription services such as Game Pass, rather than promoting or distributing physical consoles. This change came in the wake of lower-than-expected sales in those regions. As a result, Microsoft reduced its marketing efforts around Xbox hardware in favor of other gaming services.

Situation is pretty much the same in every euro country, except maybe UK.

No one wants these consoles. Entire gen wasted by MS.

Had to go with blue.

Creator of this map probably didn't know what a console is but color choice is surprisingly fitting, lol.

Poland was always PC land, PS is second place (at at least was for a long time).

Android.com.pl officially questioned Microsoft and confirmed that this response was incorrect 🙆‍♂️

Considering they need every sale they can get. Running the supply chain so lean as to run out, aint the way to do it. Though I genuinely wonder how much they really care about Europe now.

Yeah its breaking records over there.

Assuming similar marketshare of prior months that PS5 had in the UK, I estimate something like:
PS5 : 150K
XBS : 55-65K
NSW : 55-65K

That would put PS5 Nov 2024 with BF as 233K+

That's only UK I can only imagine the rest of Europe.

When they officially retire from certain markets this thread will be fun to revisit "pie_tears_joy: 🤷‍♂️
Wouldn't mind if they pulled a Stadia on me. Even Ubisoft+ got refunded, it must have cost Google tens of millions just to get rid of the service.
If Microsoft refunded, say, 2 years of purchases I would get a significant amount of money back :pie_thinking:.

They had 2 in stock and they all sold out.

Personally I'm glad I didn't start collecting Xbox games and bought just a handful of titles over the years. It's just a matter of time until they pull out of console business completely, making it harder to enjoy physical & digital Xbox games you actually own.

People are quick to capitalize on that. One week ago (or so) there were used XSX for 1300-1600PLN. Now:

I wanted to rebuy XSX at some point (I'm not sure why) but now that "dream" is over lol.

Makes sense, as a recent study claimed PS installbase has a higher income on average than PC installbase.

Sony was super smart with 800 Euro console, it will sell millions to all those rich PlayStation fanboys.

But wait, I thought they are too poor to buy pc parts?

Don't remember if I talked about it, but MS really forgot about the rest of the world, I tried looking for a series X/S at a reasonable price during black friday and LMAO, not a single discount + series S priced the same as a PS5
