I don't know what people are expecting the conference is for the general press which is where they get buzz from. It is for the 30 sec on msnbc that show their new software. This is the empahsis they are putting in their marketing and PR. Hardcore stuff will probably be shown later and their end of year line up sometime during the next 2 days. They know that if they are to will it will be because of the expanded market not the core. It is really that simple.

now this is the best conference. I was waiting for when Nintendo would officially announce they hate hardcore gamers, so that people on GAF could stop pretending they liked the Wii.

Is Nintendo skipping TGS as usual, too? :lol :lol :lol I really feel bad for Wii-only gamers who wanted hardcore games, though - I don't own one yet but I always get excited when a new Zelda game is announced just like everyone else.

I'm not even a wii-only gamer, but I want some fucking Nintendo games. I have never written a nintendo-developed game off as "waggle bullshit" before, but that's what this is. The only input the player is able to contribute is flailing, in any manner he sees fit.

Wii Speak is great, really, and 1:1 is fantastic...but there is literally no software being showcased, I don't understand their logic behind this.

Of all the franchises they still have that haven't even been introduced for Wii, they choose to show.......none of them. Brilliant.
