E3 2013 will be the most exciting E3 for a long time

And also the worst.

It's only going to get worse. You want more powerful consoles and individual pores on character's skins, you're going to get more and more derivative games with companies taking fewer and fewer risks.

I can see E3 being underwhelming if Sony and MS fail to keep things under wrap. That and I need to see more than just sharper graphics to be really impressed
I love pre e3 leaks. Makes the wait more fun.

You mean we'll get more stuff like the NSMB series? Horrifying.

iOS. F2P. Call of the Dudebros: Battlefield 3099 Edition VII. DLC.

People, these are companies. They will show ways to monetize in the cheapest ways.

If Q1 2013 wasn't so packed with awesome games I would go nuts waiting for E3. I haven't been this excited for E3 since the Wii unveiling.

Looking forward to watching nintendo's conference live and the Sony conference on DVR so I can skip over the stuff I don't care about. Will read a synopsis of the ms one.

Didn't we have a thread about this like a week or two ago

Don't really see the point in getting excited for an E3 that won't happen for another eight months

I think it'll be the last "great" E3 ever. In that by the start of the next-next gen, 2020, we'll probably not have consoles, just the cloud, and most AAA games will be dependent on DLC/F2P/etc

Pre E3- This will be the greatest ever

After E3- That was the worst ever

Every year like clockwork.

Works every time.

PS4 and 720 won't be nearly as powerful as we expect. Nonetheless, each will retail for $499. No date.

No next gen Halo, MGS, Final Fantasy or Gears of War. Heck, no major IPs will be announced for next gen consoles. They aren't ready yet. EA and Ubisoft will dominate both launch lineups and both conferences will focus mainly on Kinect 2.0 and Move 2. Also, Hulu and Netflix.

Nintendo will win E3 by showing the new 3D Mario. Retro's new project, Zelda 3DS and Smash Bros 4 will not be ready to show yet. Third party support on Wii U virtually non existent.

Can't wait ;)

2012 was supposed to be one of the best E3's due to the first next-generation console. And while the console pretty much ended up just as cool as people thought it would be, the E3 itself was a total flop, because Sony and Microsoft basically showed nothing (wonderbook and smartglass, yay), and Nintendo flubbed their conference horribly.

Above all:

You know it, man! I can't wait for the debut trailer.

Nintendo has kept Q2,3 & 4 in mystery from us; I wonder what great things (Alphadream's 3DS debut? Retro's & Monolith's game? Various localizations? New IP's?) have they got ready for us. Can't wait for Q1, btw.

I want to see how Sony plans to keep the Vita going. I don't know what to expect from PS4... I don't even know if I should expect it or not.

I don't care that much about Microsoft, but still am curious about their next-gen outing.

Next E3 is going to be really exciting, yeah.

I wonder how big a presence Ouya will have - they are aiming to be a fourth major console, the budget option, with support from the big publishers, so in theory they should just go big at E3, make sure they are getting almost as much talk as Sony and MS with their new consoles. But being a much smaller company, one wonders how much of a budget they would have for that.

I've learned my lesson. I don't think I can get excited about E3 anymore even if I genuinely wanted to. They've gotten progressively more and more lame each year. I just can't. Then again, they've driven expectations so low by now that they can meet the bar by pretty much just showing up. If it wasn't for the potential console reveals, I would have completely written it off.

Aww cmon!
Next gen AC, Killzone/LBP/Infamous/Uncharted

PS quadruple bitches!
Also colour me surprised if Ground Z ain't available in next gen form.

The new consoles will be announced and there will much celebration.

The prices will be announced and heads will roll.

I think we're going to get our first look at either the 720 or PS4 at the VGAs, probably.

No one waits until E3 for big announcements anymore.

Not if MS and Sony (I am more toward MS) have some sort of monthly payment and/or rent to own option.

If the next gen consoles from MS and Sony are at retail around Q1 2013, I say E3 is still good bet.

Hopefully they learned the lesson from the past E3. I loved how the enthusiasm-o-meter did its job. Now it's time for good presentations.

Most of PS4/720 info will come out before E3. The prices will probably be 450-499 with cheaper options on contract to piss people off. The launch lineups will mainly consist of cross gen games with no big next gen game to launch in the immediate launch window for either. Nintendo will show their big guns (3D Mario, Smash, Retro game), but people looking for big 3rd party support or amazing graphics will be disappointed. iOS will have a big presence. 2014 is be much more interesting for people actually interested in the games and not seeing bullshit trailers that the games won't match

I doubt there will be a rental option on a brand new system, I feel like Microsoft only did that with the 360 since it's at the end of its life cycle and they're trying to squeeze some revenue out of it from lower income consumers who might not be able to afford a 360. For a brand new system that's been 7+ years in the making, I doubt there will be a rental option from the get-go.

It's funny how much my perspective has changed this gen. Went from MS > All Others, to All Others > MS. This happened the moment I saw that watching Netflix, a service I paid for separately, required a gold subscription. Ya, no. Cya MS.

Yeah right. I'm quite sure they will be powerful compared to current gen consoles, and they will start at a moderate price point, I guess $399. And of course there will be a couple of major IPs ready. For example we already know about Battlefield 4. And this won't be the only title, there will be a lot more. I don't think people will be much excited about what Nintendo has to offer at this point.
