E3 2014 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 [ it's over :( ]

Project Guard seems like it would be really fun to play with friends, even if only one person has control. The presenters are having fun helping out.

My lack of sleep is getting to me. Project Guard just looks like noise.

Project Robot thing looks alright

Project Guard looks really cool, it's local co-op with one controller. I'll be grabbing this for sure.

Project Guard definitely looks fun. I like games that start with a simple concept and just keep building on it.

Did they say anything about Star Fox? I missed the beginning.

small games. thats why they werent at the digital event

looks pretty fun. i hope its cheap

but it makes me sad to notice that star fox is then turned into a small game too

Man I'm eating crow for lunch today, I never expected Nintendo to win this E3, this new concept of exposing all their content by themselves is genius, it's taking the Directs to the next level.

Not yet and maybe they won't. Sounded like it was just Projects Robot and Guard.

Not really feeling any of these games. Miyamoto is the greatest designer of all time but, yeah, gaming has evolved past him and his ideas.

eh... no.
Hopefully they don't charge for these. Uninspired & bland.

i would see bland as the game is just on a concept level. but uninspired? the tower defense game is something that builds on the principles of tower defenses but its definately new.

I wonder what peoples reactions would be if miyamotos name wasn't tied to it. I think people are giving these tech demos a lot of benefit of the doubt.

Both of these are cool concepts no matter who's behind them. Miyamoto name gives me confidence they will be polished to final releases though. That's the point.

It's definitely that, at least in part. Not that I see anything wrong with giving someone who's earned the benefit of the doubt more than the usual title.

guard is looking like a ton of fun. robot has potential but it looks much rougher. i think the sumo/physics/leverage angle aren't going to be popular with people looking for more standard giant robot destruction. much like people being incapable of understanding that wii music wasn't a guitar hero/rockband ripoff.

Not sure what to think of this tower defense game, but the giant robot game looks like a lot of fun. During the first-person bits, you get this strong sense of being way up high inside a teetering tottering robot. Once they improve the graphics, this could be something special.

Oh gawd, I just randomly switched in and the giant robot game looked terribad. The bot bumbles about almost randomly, the viewport lags severely behind the actual torso movement.. it's all so very indirect. Not sure I would like that.

That camera game would make a nice little minigame. Cute presentation. i like their shocked reaction when they're discovered.

Looks great, now I'm left hoping for a Miyamoto led minigame collection similar to Nintendoland where he can make a ton of these fun smaller projects.

The demos kinda confirm my first thoughts about these two projects. Giant Robot needs A LOT of work before it's a fun mechanic in a game. Guard would be fun as it is, but it's very simple, so I'd expect the concept to evolve a lot before hitting the market.

eh... no.

Gaming has discovered that there is a left trigger, right trigger.... and Towers to climb!

I think it's awesome that Nintendo is showing some of the internal exploration demos that might have remained secret in the past. I think that giant robot game could be awesome if fully explored and developed into a $15-$20 downloadable game.

I know that these games are early in development but I can't imagine getting full games out of these ideas...I have to think of "minigame collection" the whole time

edit:
BUT they look like fun!

Project Guard seems like it could be overwhelming in what could be a really fun way. Love that kind of frantic gameplay.
