Thinking it over, I think the undoubtedly worst part was how, aside from previously announced titles, there wasn't an actual new "core" game from one of Nintendo's franchises. Animal Crossing, Mario, Metroid, Zelda, the games they announced were all spinoffs. And its not even ambitious spinoffs. All games, (with maybe the exception of Paper Mario), just scream "cheap". Board game Animal Crossing, 3DS co-op Zelda reusing ALBW assets, Mario Sports, a Metroid title by what seems like the B-team at Next Level, it all screams low effort and cost efficient.

The thing I don't get is why they announced Ryu and Earthbound Beginnings early when the Direct was going to be full of so much filler.

This.... I was under the impression that they announced it early because they had so much to talk about....

I was wrong

You can definitely chisel "2012 - 2016" on its headstone.

Even 2016 is a stretch imo, Wii U died today. 2012-2015. There's nothing left.

I'm not even convinced that Zelda will still release on Wii U. It looked rough as fuck last year and was non-existent this year. They'll probably just move it to NX completely instead of wasting development resources on a dead platform.

All of these knee jerk reactions are too much. Nintendo didn't show the game I wanted, so I'm going to cry and sell my system because there aren't any other games available. Boo hoo.

Some of you guys really need to step back and check your emotions.

Am finding some quite numerous. If the Wii U did not make itself valuable to you since 2012 or the 3DS since 2010 then am not sure who expects 2015 E3 to change this.

Especially since Nintendo's been doing its announcements away from E3 since last years.

LMAO you nerds need to chill out with these overreactions, it's just videogames after all
as for the conference it was alright, had nothing truly big but it was still fine, a 7/10

There will maybe be more announcements, right? Didn't project guard/project robot/devil's third get announced outside of the direct last year?

There's still hope!

I was so disappointed I had to work and miss this direct, but looks like I didn't really miss much, lol.

Start watching at the trippy puppet show, turn it off immediately after the Star Fox section.

Kind of like how the last Nintendo Nokia Theater presser opened strong with Pikmin 3, then shat the bed for the rest of the conference.

I was actually kind of un-impressed by the StarFox stuff...it really doesn't look very polished.

I was only hoping for Zelda U, I am severely disappointing.

Honestly after seeing Horizon this looks like a let down and i don't mean in the graphics but in the attention to detail. Things look so low poly and simple. I don't expect Bay level of transformers detail but come on.

NX is DOA with the way Nintendo is destroying their rep. I can't see a sane person going to buy their new system when the customers got burned on previous one. We'll just be paying more money for the same thing to happen.

Destroying their rep? If anything they've garnered a lot of good will with Nintendo fans this generation. They've released so many fantastic games, and games that we never thought would happen. They've partnered with 3rd parties to bring their characters into Nintendo games and vice versa. They had a sub-par direct, and now the entire company is destroyed.

You must not keep up with the past directs, because there have been a few duds in the past. Sure, this is E3, but have some perspective.

Oh I'm sorry for enjoying Nintendo games and not being bitter. If you dont want a wii u thats fine. Lets not pretend it doesn't have good games though. Comparing wii u owners to beaten house wives though. Really? And you know its possible to *gasp* own more the one console or a pc which this generation is proving to be capable enough to cover most of the other big AAA titles including jp titles which are on the rise for the pc.

Well, opinions, off course.

For me it had one good game, and that was MK8.

Even with other consoles in my flat and more games on them then I will be ever able to play, the 350 Euro I spent for the Wii U is a joke in hindsight.

I expected great things, and got two sub par Mario games, a mini game collection "with fireworks", an HD port of a 13 year old Zelda game, and Pikmin 3, which is kind of okay..

I am happy that you enjoy your Wii U.

I didn't.

Not only has this Direct absolutely disappointed and disillusioned me regarding the WiiU, but it actually managed to get me really worried about the NX, if all Nintendo can deliver for its system after the third year will be B-Tier trash.

And they also seem desperate to prolong the 3DS' lifespan with all those new announcement for a system which has been on its way out for a while. A fact the new 3DS doesn't seem to be able to change.

Seems like they're really betting everything on NX, but I am not sure they can fix the damage they've done with another system so early on...

I think a lot of people are still juiced from sony's holy trinity of legendary games thing. somehow charming puppetry became the catalyst for a release of intense energy, negative unfortunately

Those were all parts of Star Fox prototypes iirc.

Edit: 'cept Devi's Third of course.

I had high hopes for Nintendo's presser, and it was pretty boring sadly.

There's definitely stuff I'm gonna buy, but most of it I knew about already, and none of the brand new titles really got me excited. The new Paper Mario is so disappointing looking. :(

What's so bad about it, is that the Wii U was finally doing good again.

Yup, this feels a lot like Sega. Fans upset by the 32x, Saturn thing were not going near the dreamcast.

That's not what I was talking about at all.

I'm talking about the absense of support for the Wii U, and what seems to be them pushing the games people wanted for it to their new system, effectively taking a dump on Wii U owners.

Everyone should have known what they were getting themselves into when they bought a Wii U tbh

A $300 dedicated Smash and Mario Kart machine to put your pretty little new toys on top of the controller.

Oh please. This is just ridiculous. Half the posts here are insanity. I hope a month or two from now when peoples heads clear up they'll look back on this thread and say 'what the fuck were we thinking'

this was disappointing i was hoping for a lot more but i guess like many others thoughts they are probably saving games for the nx. Granted they did say they were focusing on 2015 but still lots of 2016 was mentioned. This was the worst e3 show this year. Maybe a 3 or 4 out of 10.

So far best conferences order is:
  1. bethesda
  2. microsoft
  3. ubisoft
  4. ea
  5. sony
  6. nintendo
now if were basing it off of hype alone :
  1. sony
  2. bethesda
  3. microsoft
  4. ubisoft
  5. ea
  6. nintendo

Did you watch EA? It was worse than Nintendo.

Well, Nintendo dissapointed me a lot today. The only games I'm interested and are day 1 purchase are only Star Fox and Super Mario Maker and perhaps the new Mario Tennis. Not excited for anything else for 3DS, I haven't played 3DS in months. Sigh. Some nice segments like the designs for Super Mario Bros but omfg so sad about what they did with Metroid and Animal Crossing... it's like they are making fun of us with those bloody spin-off-esque games that nobody asked for...

4/10 :(

I don't even want to buy the NX if support for the Wii U is any indication. It'll be DoA.

3DS is their best line up ever for me. I don't expect whatever Nintendo do next for them to get a big third party backing.

Y'know, the info like Star Fox being Platinum, stuff like Fatal Frame getting Fall confirmation, made me realize just now that this could have been a good conference if they just prioritized the correct information and games.

Miyamoto confirmed in a post-conference IGN interview that Zelda is still Wii U.

well i bought a wii u for monster hunter 3 and the next zelda.
since i can live without MO3 and the next zelda is going to be playable on the next console (because, c'mon), i don't see any reason to have a wii u.
But it's personal taste and needs.

People are as usual, exaggerating. It wasn't a great showing, but it had some solid stuff.

Fire Emblem
Mario Maker
Xenoblade
Yoshi
Mario Tennis
Youkai Watch
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
Star Fox

And don't give me that "Yeah well half that stuff is stuff we already knew about." shit if you were one of the people cumming in their pants last night over Sony's conference last night and typing in all caps while they were showing Uncharted 4, Horizon, Street Fighter V, No Man's Sky, or the reintroduction of a game that's been in development for eight years. Because you'll look pretty damn hypocritical. Something doesn't need to be unknown to be worth getting excited about.

Somewhat of a boring show, especially coming off last night’s Sony conference. Nothing excited me.

I mean I’m buying a good chunk of the games shown, but I already knew about them.

Perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane.
Hey, at least Next Level was finally able to make a Metroid game, right? Heh heh heh...

*sigh*
