Sony's 'army' is silenced by their own generals, unlike MS's.

faIWHxf.jpg

Once again, completely different approaches. Sony has always practiced diligent pre-E3 media silence, MS is loud and confident. Nintendo's E3 worksmanship show the most care and effort, yet people are eternally sceptical because LOLNOLIVECONFERENCE.
Spencer's and Greenberg's twitter campaign is clearly working this year, as you can see.

The hilarity of it all is that a lot of the expectations of Sony's stuff, are all from leaks or oops! from Sony devs.

Horizon? Thanks, shinobi & gskyace.
Sony Bend horror IP? Thanks, shinobi.
MM New IP? Thanks, Mark Healey!
GoW4? Thanks, Cory Barlog!

Without the above, there'll be even more 'fear, uncertainty, despair' & 'why are they silent!? WHY!?' comments.

I really don't expect more than 2 megatons at this conference really. 1 from Sony, and maybe 1-2 from Microsoft at that. Don't blow it all out and leave other shows barren, the doomsayers are going to spout their false prophecies regardless.

I deciphered it but it's still not comprehensible. Are you sure this is the right text?

Might have to try a different code. I tried a few to no avail.

Spencer's and Greenberg's twitter campaign is clearly working this year, as you can see.

Pre-E3 hype means nothing. Microsoft's being vocal on Twitter does make sense, as they only want to get more people to watch their conference, especially since it'll be first in line on Monday. Raising expectations is only a natural byproduct of being outspoken on Twitter. They don't seem very braggadocious at all. Sony's silence is more of a way to prevent anything unintended from slipping out, especially after the SFV leak at PSX. I'm sure someone got reprimanded @ Capcom/Sony for that, and that most likely resulted in the tightening of the ship. Sony doesn't need to hype as much as the competition because they're slotted for prime time hours. Anyone who's tuning in has most likely watched all the previous conferences and plans to watch the Sony one as well. High expectations are also already a given considering Sony's massive lead worldwide and strong track record of PS3 support (especially in later years). Nintendo are where they are at this point. Anyone not interested is probably unlikely to watch at this point.

I'm expecting a similar 'calibre' of a show from all of them, similar to last year, in terms of overall quantity of announcements, type of announcements, etc. Minus 1 for MS, because I don't think having 3 'one last things' for them last year did them any favours.

I think it's pretty foolish to expect any publisher to have some sort of 'blow-out' conference. Even if you're EA/Ubisoft where you only have one conference a year, you still have to think of next year's event when planning this year's. Much less Sony who has 3-4 conferences a year. MS technically has 1.5 a year, though it'd be interesting to see if they're serious at actually having 2 this year.

I don't get this post. I don't follow Spencer's twitter, but every time he tweet some "news worthy" it's him responding to someone on twitter. I never seen him go on twitter to say "Our E3 is going to be hype or something" like that. Greenberg on the other hand.

Is there any chance we get news about Project Treasure at E3?

I was thinking about it and wondering if any company working with Nintendo has considered the ftp model with content locked behind its own amiibo line. For example, if Project Treasure were to be a very basic dungeon crawler with areas and characters pulled from Bamco franchises. However, if you buy a Kos Mos amiibo and scan it, you unlock Kos Mos as a playable character and 5 Xenosaga themed dungeons.

Think Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, but with amiibo acting as a form of microtransactions to enhance the basic free content. I don't really think it would be an offensive use of the amiibo idea. Many people buy amiibo just to have them, and this kind of functionality gives them a good bit more value and allows you to choose how much and what content you want to pay for.

Pretend for a moment that the First Treasure line of amiibo were to consist of Kos Mos, Yoshimitsu, Sophitia Alexandra, and Reiko Nagase. So you don't like Kos Mos? Don't buy her. Buy the Kazuya amiibo and unlock dungeons where you fight against the G-Corporation and Mishima Zaibatsu, or buy the Sophitia amiibo to unlock dungeons based on Soulcalibur's best stages, but pass on Reiko Nagase because dungeons with a Ridge Racer theme sounds stupid.

Now obviously I don't expect Project Treasure to work like that, I just used its name and ftp status to illustrate what I mean. How long until someone tries to do this with the amiibo? The Wii U could benefit from a game that better uses the amiibo and comes free with the purchase of their struggling console.

Yep.

Sony's killer app for holidays could be Morpheus demo stations everywhere. It's the best exclusive feature and will atract casuals easily.

'About happy Sony new is".. That translation is clear (take each letter, shift it up 3 in the alphabet) though it falls apart come "KLQ".

'hin jrogect verry cambridge'. - that's the translation from 'KLQ' onwards, albeit messy.

About happy Sony new is hin jroject verry Cambridge? Guessing that jroject is meant to be project.

Did I mess that up, or is Sony very happy about the project from Cambridge? Cambridge project confirmed then? Perhaps even for this holidays, given that they're very happy.

messed it up on purpose, but no not correct almost tho :(

By far my most anticipated game that Sony could possibly show is the new Everybody's Golf. We got a teaser last E3, but have we had any word of it since? I don't think so but I might be wrong.

So long as we get gameplay footage of the new EG and a release date that's this year then I can let the rest of a weak fall slide. Everybody's Golf will be all I need on my PS4 for some time, and I still haven't played Bloodborne or the Witcher 3.

That teaser last year said we'll get more news this year.

Dunno at which conference though.

Trying to wrap my head around what to expect

Looking forward to these so far

Sony

- Bloodborne DLC. Cmon you know we are getting this. There are parts to this game that are clearly deliberately left unfinished (maybe the scope was too big and they had to scale back which is what Miyasaki has done with damn near every game) Cant wait to see what they do next with BB.

- My Long Shot for Sony is seeing the Next Vanillaware game.... but I think that seems more likely to be a TGS thing.

- Only other games I am pumped for this year are Battlefront and Fallout 4 (you know its happening). Not gonna even mention "you know what"

Nintendo

- All about Star Fox man. Been on a kick and I am actually more excited about this game than ever before. That said Miyamoto loves to shake the damn pot too much. I personally would have been happy with a remake of the First game (the music is incredible... we need more of it)

- More Smash Bros DLC. Its pretty much THE local co op game for my friends and I. Been playing for 15 years now and have no intention of stopping!

- I honestly dont expect much else. Lots of Rumors that Capcom are doing 3DS again for another MH game (GROOOAAAANNN) which is one of my favorite series ever. I am actually hoping this isnt true. Despite MH4U being the best game in the series its also the one my friends quit the fastest... I dont blame them. Dragging it out on 3DS for another game seems like a mistake. 4U is a good enough footnote for the platform.

Only other thing I want to see is more From Software. Dark Souls 3 tease?

With all these tweets these people get, it's easy to pick the right tweets just to say what you actually wanted to say from the beginning. It's simply a nice marketing strategy.

Haha. Aw, that's not very satisfying for the code-breaker if the end product is flawed. It feels like I'm deciphering a Cboat leak now!

Thanks for the fun however. Come E3 day, hopefully it will all come clear and click-in perfectly (otherwise I'll be messaging you for the worked solutions).

Oh what a day! What a lovely day!

I really, really need to up my GIF skills and replace the Gear Shift / Bobble Head with Iwata / Reggie for E3 Hype Train.

Anyone on E3 Hype Train GIF duty?

If they don't drop the ''Inklings coming as DLC for Super Smash Brothers!'' bomb during the direct, I'll be very disappointed. I'll understand why, but I'll still be disappointed.

Also Lucas and Splatoon update should be released right after the direct, just to hype it up even further.

This guy is TheworthyEdge 2.0. Just spill the beans or not... But the fucked up messages is pure trolling

I agree and that's nt because I want to know. I have no idea how they haven't been banned yet for just constant teasing but they obviously proved their cred somehow. Additionally, I don't like the idea of someone who behaves this childishly on Internet forums working high in enough in the games industry to know all this shit.

Personally I'm hoping we see Sony give Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale a second shot as a PS4 downloadable title sort of like Microsoft with Killer Instinct. Announce an entirely rebuilt engine and artstyle, alongside the original roster (most of it anyway) and some new characters like Galahad, Iota, the Pomeranian from Tokyo Jungle and Dart.

Have it f2p with a small number of characters always unlocked and a rotating set of other characters, or unlock them all for a set fee.

Those won't matter if the gameplay is still garbage. Who would develop it this time? SuperBot?

Sony Santa Monica? The gameplay was pretty solid, the only thing they needed to change was the lack of ring-outs, or, lacking that, just giving players some way other that supers to kill people.

They should fully commit to being a Smash game and just go with it.

Add Kevin Butler to the roster and I will buy it,
Now matter how it plays.

New PS Allstars would be a megaton for me. I predict we are going to see it at PSX.
And i liked the super system.

Verendus confirmed we will get another mascot brawler for the Ps4

They should just give it to Capcom to make.

this !

Rime. Packed that deep in my back head. Now my counter is on 4.
Tomorrow children gameplay is completely unclear, don't even know if it's fun. But the artstyle wowed me.

TTC is extremely addicting. Gameplay is phenomenal.

Its a MMO tower defense game with combat / mining / resource gathering mechanics set within that oppressive old USSR feeling landscape. The point is to build up your town and protect it from the constant enemy attacks that occur throughout the day/night. You do this by gathering resources, which can then be used to create objects within town like warning bells, turrets, transport vehicles, combat vehicles, trees ( which can in turn be chopped for wood or drop apples for food storage ), or by gathering these wooden dolls that when set inside the population control center in town will create more citizens for the town. The more citizens, the larger your city grows.

its incredibly fun. one of those games you just have to play really. its hard to convey the sheer awesomeness by just watching a stream or looking at screenshots. Its the culmination of the atmosphere, the animations, the interactive objects throughout town and the moment you and your other town citizens begin working as a team to build up a well structured and well put together home town.

All I know is, I want to see that mech warrior in action. Such a tease during Alpha.

After playing alpha TTC became one of my most anticipated games of the year. I would of gladly paid money for the alpha version of the game as is lol.

It's 'jroject' if we're following the Caesar cipher.

Nothing in this screams potential for megaleak, though. Based on what we know from the message, it seems like something anybody could say to vaguely hint at nothing in particular.

Given Verendus comment a while back concerning last guardian being a 2016 game, it would make sense to at least tease it the year before. E3 seems like the right time for a game this large, unless things have changed since Verendus said that.

Legitimately? Sweet, gonna start writing up a dreamlist thread

1114.gif

he mentioned it several times

How would people react to another Sony mascot brawler in the future?

Not one similar to PlayStation All-Stars, but more 3D oriented in the battle system, and with more focus on it being a party game rather than just a Playstation character showcase? So, for example, you have characters appearing which are popular but not necessarily Playstation legacy characters.

There'll be another crossover. It'll be done right this time.

Cool, I'd like to see another PS All-Stars or the like. I would also second the notion that Capcom should be developing (preferably under Ono).

I love Verendus' hints/confirmations, but he does always make a point to say that nothing is set in stone and things change, so I don't want to get my hopes up about anything too much.
