I personally think there’s a huge difference getting very carefully curated footage from the producer of the game compared to getting footage from hundreds of people playing that same demo live on the show floor.what doest it matter this was shown on E3 or on stream?
This is all Sony's fault.
Not even kidding.
They are the reason we are stuck with blog posts and tweets for all announcements now.
Soon as they pulled out it E3 immediately started to lose its relevance.
Covid didnt help either. 4 years after Sony decided they were too cool for E3, its officially DEAD.
Lol I agree. Either that or motherfuckers dont really care about games like that and need to go away.To see people so happy that its gone is so confusing to me. E3 was one of the rare moments throughout the year that gamers from around the world had a chance to get together to celebrate gaming like Comic Con, or the Porn convention. Like why are people so happy one of the biggest exclusive entertainment events that allow for cosplay, game demo, E3 girls, dev interviews, live game reveals and suprise trailers might be gone forever? Im convinced social media has created a hive mind of contarianism.
E3 also held the devs and companies sort of accountable, they had to have SOMETHING. Looks like these days they know they are on bullshit and dont want to be held accountable for their lack of output. So e3 is a stress to them now.
What are you talking about? You never watch them live. You catch the highlights later after they're done.Sad stuff
Enjoy The Geoff's now, with infinite commercials and wet fart announcements.
And more cringe time than all E3's combined
I remember so many amazing E3 moments: Twilight Princess announcement, Wii announcement, Kinect, Metal Gear and FF on the Xbox, Sony's 2015 E3 (the GOAT) ...
Summer Game Fest and TGA doesnt even come an inch close to that
It was like christmas. I'll never understand those who were cheering for E3's death.
Industry is bigger than ever, they could afford it. They just literally care about money more than the fun now. Whereas they didnt before. It was going to happen regardless. It was a massive waste of money to cater to very small number of people when the vast majority were watching from home anyway.
Recently we getting more demos especially from SE, and heard we getting one from FFXVI before release, so to me honestly doesn’t make much difference.I personally think there’s a huge difference getting very carefully curated footage from the producer of the game compared to getting footage from hundreds of people playing that same demo live on the show floor.
Yeah, considering it releases before E3 that’d be pretty pointless. Also not all games are playable on show floor in E3. For example if Nintendo was in E3 this year, I highly doubt Tears of Kingdom would be available on show floor.
Ehh we still got demos then too, in fact during the ps3/360 era we got more demos lolRecently we getting more demos especially from SE, and heard we getting one from FFXVI before release, so to me honestly doesn’t make much difference.

1000000% agreed. Those who say they hated E3 have:
1. Never been to
2. Jealous because they’ve never attended
3. Under the age 30
Enjoy your summer outside dorks.

More Mainstream=more monetized focus.
People need accept when shit is getting worse lol
Say for yourselfWhat are you talking about? You never watch them live. You catch the highlights later after they're done.
Even what we are watching from home is less fun though. And with less content. It isn't worse for me. I'll watch the showcases from home just as I have for many many years. I think that is the case for most gamers and why there is such a tepid reaction to the news.
It was cringe, but it was also awesome and the awesome (mostly) outshined the cringe.Everyone talked mad shit about e3 being cringe, but now here we are. We lost a real one.
Well it was never needed, comic con isn't needed. The trend of the industry is about primarily $$$ now, there used to be some naive goofy love for games and hosting fun shit for awhile, but as the medium became more mainstream it accumulated more mainstream business logic.Sad day. E3 defines much of the gaming memories of my childhood.
For better or worse though, a giant expo for the whole industry to attend once a year just isn’t needed any more.
Add Nintendo to that list with their Direct streams. This is all Sony's fault.
Not even kidding.

Technically, Nintendo started the domino effectThis is all Sony's fault.

FtfyThis show died when Nintendo stopped showing up anyway.
He is insufferable.
