E3 torrents

(Please sticky when E3 comes around)
Currently V0.4

After going through many trackers and making many revisions I've decided on the final software to use for the tracker. At first I just used very simple software because I only thought i would want this tracker for E3, but they i realized the usefullness of it and decided I want this tracker to be open all year for everyone to use. basically I'm finished with all the major revisions i had to make the software and It's open to public for uploading. It is basically in beta mode but i don't want it breaking on E3 so try and break it now. Yes i'm asking you to try and break it.

www.titaniumtorrents.com (Would be very greatfull if someone made a new banner preferably the same width and height as the current banner )

You can upload anonymously or become a member.
I will add a tutorial as to how to make .torrent files but if you do know how to make it then don't hesitate. You use this tracker for anything, demos, movies, trailer, movie trailers. The tracker is open to the public for anyones use, they don't have to be a member of GAF.
The announce tracker is http://www.titaniumforums.com/tracker/announce.php

edit:// the torrent doesn't show up on the page until it gets the first seeder., this is an anti spam measure. You must use the .torrent you uploaded to become a seeder and once you connect to the tracker it will show up on the page.

Rules:
No copyright shit. Yes porn is copyright.

And i'm open to suggestions.

Nice. I'd upload some stuff, but it won't let me register. The login page also gives an error.

Yes i just noticed that, you can still click upload anonymously.

Edit:// about the spamming, people have asked for a torrents site. If your refering to the titaniumforums banner is because the page is built on the same template (php) as that forum, and thats why i've asked for someone to make a new banner(i'm no good at photoshop, someone made that banner for me).
edit2://The registration has been fixed.

People should bookmark this site if it's the one we're gonna use, the forum won't be around that much at E3 for you to find the link that way.

I already had a working tracker site for GAF torrents during E3 last year, can't say it was a big success but it had some nice content from a few members. It's not working anymore (tracker is down) but it would be a few minutes work to have it online if needed.
I'm not sure it's a good idea to make a "general" tracker like this, especially with anonymous uploads.

It is unlikely I will keep that for more then a few weeks. And its very easy to delete torrents.

Will you be there 24/7 ? A few hours is enough to get a few hundreds or even thousands downloads using your tracker. Believe me, I know :(

how will forcing people to register make them stop uploading?
Considering how simple the registration is.
I don't say it will change anything, but it's a good start. Just make sure you have a good moderation team, especially if you plan to have a "clean" site with no pay to see ign/gamespot/you name it content.
Do you plan to have a way to filter the torrents by systems? Like if I want to only see Xbox/Xbox 2 content?

Yes i can make catagories, I'll add those on the next update.

Most of what people trade during E3 is just content swiped from the paysites. Does that count as copyrighted? If so, it's going to be a lonely lil' tracker...

I called my lawyer, and he said "no". So I think it's safe to go ahead. :) PEACE.

Torrents? DC++ is much better. Chat + File Sharing.

I know quite a few of us ended up here because the forums were down so we could chat. Is this going to be setup again? I can't believe it's a year gone by already. Also, are the forums going to be locked down to members only again?

That all depends on what your downloading. They can't copyright trailers and demos that are released, but they can copyright their own interviews and their own videos

As border said, if stuff from Insider/Complete etc. isn't allowed, I'm not sure it'll get much traffic. I know it's illegal and all that, but that's certainly all I used it for last time.

Let someone else set up a DC hub if they really want. The last one I remember really wasn't all that great, though. When HOT TRAILER X gets released, the person that grabs it can only really send it out to a couple people at once. Torrents work much better, if handled properly.

There seems to be something wrong with the uplaod torrents page, its not uploading the torrents. I will have it fixed as soon as possible.

therein lies the problem :)

Well I like torrents better because I don't have to worry about sitting in a long download queue. All you really have to do is make sure someone is seeding files.

Can't we combine a DC++ hub -with- torrents?

DC++ is good for archives, chat, and such.. torrent is good for distributing giant files.

You know, there is an IRC channel if you guys care about having a chat room so much. You can chat there while you download a torrent :lol

I was going to suggest we put up a web host again, but it looks like the service I used last year isn't providing "unlimited" transfer accounts any longer. Guess we showed them...haha.
