E3 Twitter Just Now - Nintendo is coming to E3 No Need to Worry

What Nintendo said:

Iwata said:
First, we decided not to host a large-scale presentation targeted at everyone in the international audience where we announce new information as we did in the past.
INSTEAD, AT THE E3 SHOW THIS YEAR, we are planning to host a few smaller events that are specifically focused on our software lineup for the U.S. market. There will be one closed event for American distributors, and we will hold another closed hands-on experience event, for mainly the Western gaming media. Also, I did not speak at last year’s presentation, and I am not planning to speak at these events at the E3 show this year either.

How THE FUCK did anyone think that Nintendo was not going to be at E3? They literally said "Yes, we will be at E3." The only thing they're not doing is one of those awkward, large-scale international presentations. Instead, they're doing a couple of smaller presentations.

Who the hell was dumb enough to think Nintendo wasn't coming to E3?

I still think there is a subset in the internet gaming community who is under the impression Nintendo is solely having Nintendo Directs during e3 with no press events or a booth. Basically those who think E3 starts and ends with conferences.

End of an Era. Sure most of the past couple of E3's have been atrocious. But back in the gamecube and early wii days it was the best. Before Cammy that is.

So what you're saying is... Nintendo won't be at E3!?

edit: dammit srttoz!

Embarrassing it got to this point. For both Nintendo needing to better (or quicker) prepare clarification before the internet so rapidly explodes. And doubly so for the unbelievable lack of reading comprehension, blatant idiocy, and laziness by some parties.

Not surprised- Nintendo Direct is clearly a superior format to the press conference, purely based on the benefit of editing. Also, no chance of Skyward Sword type technical errors botching the conference.

If they can deliver the same message to an audience that is watching it online anyway, without having to rent a space, build an expensive set, and herd hundreds of press into the same room, why wouldn't they?

Nintendo should be like "WE WON'T HAVE A E3 PRESS CONFERENCE BUT WE WILL HAVE A NINTENDO DIRECT FOR THE GAMERS AT THE SAME TIME SHOWING OFF OUR NEW GAMES, AND A CONFERENCE FOR INVESTORS AND THE PRESS, AND ALL THE GAMES WE ANNOUNCED ON JUNE'S NINTENDO DIRECT WILL HAVE A DEMO AT E3 2013...AGAIN WE WILL BE AT E3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I think that would of got the message lol.

A mod needs to just close all the Nintendo E3 threads and just have one that states the facts.

#1 Nintendo will be at E3 on the showfloor
#2 Nintendo will not have a E3 press conference
#3 Nintendo will have a Nintendo Direct around the same time as E3
#4 Nintendo will have a closed door meeting with the press and let them play their games before the showfloor is open to the public
#5 Nintendo will also have a closed door meeting with Business Partners
#6 Nintendo plans to have more Nintendo Directs before E3
#7 Nintendo will host more events similar to the one on April 15th, where they anounced AlttP 2 and YI3DS and let the press play some upcoming titles, before the end of the year

Okay okay Nintendo. I get it. You'll be at E3. But...will you have any games there?

They can't seem to communicate anything to the press or public without causing confusion. Stop being so Japanese, Nintendo.

Blame definitely lies with Nintendo here. This was just not an effective way to announce this news. Should have waited until they could detail their exact plans.

Blame partially lies with Nintendo for not being clearer. Blame also lies with the illiterate who saw "no conference" and shit their pants without reading further.

IGN's Facebook status "Nintendo will not hold a large-scale press conference at this year's E3" Has about 95% of people commenting thinking they're not showing up at all.

What games? you mean the ones they've already announced? Then yeah.

Okay okay Nintendo. I get it. You'll be at E3. But...will you have any games there?

It just gives me the impression that they have nothing large to reveal.

BINGO!!!

Relevant:

Nintendo: "So we're not doing a pressconference this year at E3. We'll be there with demos and our future line-up. We'll have meetings with partners and the media. There will be Nintendo Directs communicating our announcements towards everybody at home.

Part of GAF: "Oh man, no conference? What about the games!?"

Nintendo: "Oh sorry, you didn't get that. We'll be at E3 with our products."

Part of GAF: "But if you don't have a conference, where are you going to show your games!!??"

Nintendo: "Uh, our new products will be attending E3. We've just explained the two meeting set-up. Everyone at home can expect something (likely a Nintendo Direct) like a broadcast detailing our new announcements."

Part of GAF: "But there won't be a conference?"

Nintendo: "Yes"

Part of GAF: "But what about your games?"

Nintendo: "... ... ..."

Simple fix. They just need to hold a large press conference to explain the lack of a large press conference.
