EA goes with Xbox Live for the Superbowl

Must admit, I'm very surprised that Sony let this slip to MS. Being from UK I'm not sure, but I was under the impression that the Superbowl is one of the most prominent mass-market advertisment opportunities?

Maybe EA and MS are getting cosy together, plus it seems like another win for MS in making the Xbox brand mass-market...

Maybe EA will go with Xenon as lead dev platform :lol :lol

They're doing the same thing here in Europe with FIFA 2005. Weird that Sony is just sitting at the bench looking out over the field.

The thing with things like "the official world cup console" and stuff like that is stuff I am shocked to see Sony not chasing, but I dunno... Live content is something that 60+ million console gamers won't care about. Great exclusive but..

Yeah, but they are still the main sponsor for Champions League -- which is really big. I agree with you though, very strange they don't want this kind of deal.

One can always hope Konami and Sony teams up during the next World Cup :)

Right, but being the world cup's official console probably means that Xenon will get *great* exposure during the event, probably with its logo acccompanying every match and tv commercial, and maybe with banners along the field too. It's for sure a great marketing opportunity for the brand itself.

It really seems EA is flirting very much with Microsoft and their online service: I think that things will get really interesting next-gen ;-).

My head hurts reading that, and I still don't know what he's saying because I'm not over the shock of that first sentence.

It's just more incentive for Sony to stop messing around and get their online network complete. They talked about it at E3 but nothings come out since.

Still muttering "This online gaming - it's just a fad... You wait and see..."
