Wow, lots of Sony-fanboys here

I know we don't have full info on the PS5 yet, but... PS5.

It's not just the exclusives and Sony's general knack for fostering the community, it's that Microsoft has yet to truly show that it has learned from some of its bigger mistakes in the Xbox One era.

I don't want to oversimplify, but Microsoft has a way of making the Xbox feel... well, Microsofty. That is, bland, corporate and mediocre. The UI feels like it was developed by the people who made Windows. And you can predict how most of Microsoft's in-house games will turn out: they'll be okay, possibly have a clever mechanic or two but never come close to the stature of Sony exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn or Uncharted. For every Forza, there's five Recores or Crackdown 3s (both benchmarks for crappy Xbox One exclusives).

The Hellblade demo for the XSX is cool, but it's just a canned sequence. I want to see "why didn't we see this earlier" titles that make you find room in your budget for an Xbox, and we might not see those for months, if at all.

Halo Infinite
Forza Motorsport 8
Flight Simulator
Minecraft Raytraced Edition
3rd Party Exclusive (probably)
Whatever else

Xbox at launch for me with that lineup, and as my main machine for the gen. Probably get the PS5 the year after, I skipped the PlayStation this gen so I can also play a few BC games in between exclusive software droughts.

This user has been removed from the thread. Console war trolling.
You said it the first time and it gained little traction to derail, so you double down on the console war bait?

Actually, it did 'gain traction' the first time, but the reactions were so insecure that I wanted to friendly troll the same people :] I'll behave now, though, no worries.

But Godfall is.. ? 🤔
Likely to be shit. Not buying PS5 for Godfall.

Edit:

People really think it's just Godfall vs Hellblade at this moment?

Couldn't possibly be Sony's exclusive track-record vs MS track-record?
MS doesn't come close to Sony, hence PS5.

At this point it's just laughable to think MS suddenly will be able to truly compete with Sony (or Nintendo) next-gen.

No, nobody was waiting for this wierd bastard from Warframe and Darksiders. I don't understand the whole positive resonance (yet).
But it's nice to be able to pursue your hobby from day one on and look forward to something. Even without a big line-up the PS5 will definitely be a day one purchase.
If it is then completely downward compatible, I am satisfied.

PS5 after a couple years when the price drops. No need to get an Xbox when I own a PC. My current One X is collecting dust.

PS5 because my PC makes the X obsolete. But if the PS5 is as noisy, or even remotely so, as the Pro, I'm out!

To me the Xbox is a redundant console at this point.

The PS4 in general has more and better 1st party exclusives, practically all 3rd party games that the Xbox has and also the full support of Japanese developers which Xbox doesn't. There's no reason for me to get an Xbox at this point unless they can magically get the support of Japanese devs and start producing more quality exclusives than Playstation.

Xbox would have to do something crazy or Sony something disastrous to drive me to switch

I'm heavily locked into the PS ecosystem now. GOW, Spiderman, Naughty Dogs next game, Horizon are must plays.

Sony seems more adventurous pushing things like PSVR and PSnow and I hope that continues while MS seem to have been playing it safe for years and it hasn't been paying off

Sony need to massively screw up to change the tides. But MS's acquisitions make it more compelling to eventually invest in them as a second console next gen or go for a PC upgrade when PS5 hardware is starting to show its legs

I want to say I'm still in wait and see mode to see whichever company does better overall, but carrying forward all my PS4 library is honestly a big momentum driver.

PS5 at the end of next generation, maybe, assuming there are enough exclusives to snag on the cheap. Everything great on X will be even greater on my PC.

I voted ps5 but I probably won't buy one as I game very little these days.

I really doubt I would buy the Xbox. Nothing against it but they haven't made a game I've liked. The only xbox exclusive I've ever enjoyed was kung fu chaos.

Pc and I'll probably get a ps5 down the line just for the exclusives. I doubt Sony IP's will be released on pc and if they do, they'll be atleast a year apart from the console launch.

I'm a bit unconventional in that I don't really care for either MS's or Sony's first party games all that much. I like Halo but it's not a system seller for me. However Killer Instinct is one of my favorite fighting game series ever so if they announced a KI2 for XSX I'd be ecstatic.

When it comes to Sony with the PS4 I really only care about their third party Exclusives like Bloodborne or Spiderman, but I've been able to borrow friends' PS4s to play them in the past.

Tbh Nintendo are the only company I really care about Exclusives for but since I had a WiiU to play BotW I haven't needed a Switch yet. I'll probably get one when No More Heroes 3 comes out and then wait and see how the PS5 and XSX are looking. I'll probably end up going with the SX so I can move all my OGX/360/X1 games over to one system, but if Hellblade 2 and Halo Infinite are all they have to interest me out of the gate I'll probably wait.

If I were rich I'd probably get a nice PC and PS5, but I'm not so an XSX and Switch will probably be fine.

As far as i'm concerned MS have not given me a reason to support their platform since the start of the 360 era. Its really that simple.

Their exclusives are just not interesting to me, and as that lineup has barely changed in over a decade... shockingly my opinion hasn't either.

Another big problem is that by the time next gen rolls round I'll have over 200 games as part of my PS+ library, and if I stop subscribing they are all going to go away. So as time goes by it becomes a tougher and tougher decision not to stick with Sony.

Neither ATM; XSEX I need to see what exclusives it'll have coming. PS5 I need assurance from Sony they're gonna cut it out with the censorship-happy focus they've been growing into (particularly towards mid-to-smaller Japanese games).

In the meantime more PC investments and (eventually) a Switch will be enough for me, but I can easily see myself getting PS5 and/or XSEX within a year of their release.

I will most likely get a ps5 at launch. The xbox one had very few exclusives I was hyped for. I'm kinda not hyped for next gen right now. I'm not a big fan of Microsoft exclusives and I tend to get more hype over Japanese games which usually come first or only to the Sony console rather than Sony first party.

Sony have provided me with unique new properties and games 4 generations in row. Meanwhile, Nintendo and Microsoft stick to the same damn thing every generation. For this reason alone the choice is very easy, PS5 is my priority.
If MS show off playable Hellblade 2 and it looks as impressive as the trailer, I'll want to be there day 1 as well though.

Since Xbox Series X already look like a PC tower and all the game are available on PC im happy to stick with PC

PS5 maybe not a day one purchases but deff will be getting it someday

I will get both, assuming Sony releases an exclusive I must have. Buying the seXbox first though, because Halo and Gamepass.
