It's supposed to be backwards compatible with the PS4. If that doesn't satisfy you, you'll probably enjoy Xbox more.

What do you mean by full?

They said it will be BC with the PS4, and I am more than positive it will be on the same ecosystem/store platform.

If you are talking prior to this gen, Xbox is not "full" either, but it would be nice if they had some PS1-3 emulation in comparison for those that want it.

I will probably have no reason to buy an XSX since I'll be doing a major PC upgrade next year or the following year. With that said, I do look forward to getting lots of great games from Microsoft via Gamepass.

well not exactly. I have a huge library of ps1 and ps2 games. My phat ps3, before it melted, used to be able to play these. I was just hoping the ps5 could fill that void.

There was a "leak" about PS1/2/3 BC on the PS5, but it was fake. Assume only PS4 BC.

It still sucks, but with the amount of remasters/remakes of PS2 and PS3 games the PS4 had, it's somewhat representative nonetheless.
The only reason it works for me is that I mostly got PS2/3 games I never owned before on the PS4.

I looked at the "both" and "neither" votes in previous polls, compared to this one, and I noticed two interesting things:

1. The percentage of people voting "Both" has decreased by over half. Back in March and April, 19% to 22% said they were planning to buy both. Now, after both companies have had their reveals, only 8.6% say they are getting both. The "both" votes have dropped by over half.

2. The "Neither" votes have doubled. Back in April, 8% said "neither;" in the current poll, 16.6% are saying "neither." I can see two possible explanations for that: 1) The reveals caused a lot of people to decide to hold off on buying either console for the first year or two; or 2) I added a qualifier to this poll option ("at least not for the first year or two"), which was not present in previous polls. That might have helped some people choose "neither" as an option, who felt a simple "neither" was too declarative or final.

TLDR: After the reveals, people voting "both" went down by half, and people voting "neither" doubled.

Yeah I voted both before but now it seems it'll be neither for me. I mean, why do you need those consoles if you can play all the games on PC? It's funny/sad that after such a weak launch lineup PS4/XB1 had, both Sony and MS claimed how strong their upcoming lineup will be, only to turn out it will be even weaker, much weaker than 7 years ago, they basically have no games ready for those consoles, and won't have until 2022/23, at that time we will most likely get the slim models already, if not even mid-gen refresh models...

The Xbox Showcase made me choose PS5 to start Next-Gen off. If and when Xbox has some exclusive that is amazing I will probably end up picking one up. But I have been disappointed with Xbox for most of this current gen and I've supported them for many years time to put that support to PS5. Last time I got the Xbox One at launch and then I picked up the PS4 3 months later. I will not be doing that again, Sony this whole gen or picking up the Series X in 3 years.
