RIP to an absolute legend.

Grammy's going to have to add an extra hour just to show the in memoriam segments.

Hadn't he stopped touring with the group a while back now?
I recall seeing a video of them recently and it clearly isn't him as lead.

Parkinsons took away his ability to tour and perform in the studio with them in the 90's, but he was still active with the band.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Devastated.

If there was one thing my dad taught me, was an intimate love of Earth, Wind & Fire music...

I'd like to shake your father's hand. It was my mother and her huge collection of records that got me into Earth Wind and Fire.

I guessing I'm going all my Earth Wind Fire albums now. One of my first bands I started listening to from my dad and my uncle's collection. RIP

By the way, that's not Maurice in the OP (I think it's Ralph, another founding member):

Fuck!!!!!! I miss him already...I was lucky to see him live before he couldn't tour anymore...that was 20 years ago. :(

Fuck ):

My parents and I saw EW&F at the Santa Barbara Bowl several years ago, sometime after the concert my dad somehow spoke with someone in the band or a roadie or someone and asked about Maurice, and that's when we learned about the Parkenson's. Ever since I check his wiki page every so often to see how he's doing, and it looks like it finally got him.

Fuckin hell man. I LOVE his solo album. His cover of Stand By Me is incredible. Such good music.

RIP dude. Yes, this wonderful generation of musicians is aging, and I can't recommend enough that you all go see the living legends we still have with us live. I implore you all to go see Bob Dylan the next chance you get. I got to see the Grateful Deads final shows in Chicago this past summer, and it was a truly magical experience. I hope those guys are individually all with us for a long time to come, but you never know. Go out and experience as much music as you can live before all that's left is guys that only know how to play a MacBook. EW&F were an amazing funk band in their day, and have composed some of the happiest music on the planet.
