I really, really hope Brendon Small's new character comes back on Comedy Bang Bang. Hopefully he can find a way into the studio whenever Tiny 'n Victor show up. Also, Scott finally got to talk call sheets! I was so happy for him.

The Hooray Show has been pretty consistently great. Shame they're not on Earwolf anymore, making this comment basically illegal here. But I feel I've got to point that out regardless.

Thanks for reminding me. I didn't figure Hooray Show would start so soon. But it's basically just him doing it in his basement so I guess there isn't much production.

I've only listened to Wild Horses and the Psychic Pshow. I actually thought the Psychic Pshow was going to end up being an improv show about Lauren visiting a fake psychic, but no... it's actually about visiting real psychics. :p It was actually the most interesting at first when she was talking to her dad. The first psychic was sort of interesting, but I really didn't feel like the others really gave enough for it to be interesting. Plus thinking psychics are complete frauds doesn't help.

Wild Horses is pretty good. I've liked the improv bits for the most part. As stated, though, I just wish the interviews were a bit shorter.

Those are the only things I wish I could access beyond the Earwolf Wall. Love Wild Horses, and Erin Whitehead needs her own podcast. Different people will try different revenue streams, but I like my podcasts ad supported and free. Podcast ads are literally the only palatable ads. Enjoying new material from presenters focused on pimping products is so much better than forcing me to look at something the advertisers know I want to avoid.

I grabbed all the episodes of Hollywood Handbook and archived them just in case - same with The Reality SHOW Show. Sean and Hayes podcasts are best podcasts. Hopefully if they're getting more popular, we'll finally see some official HH merch.

Listler fuming over the idea of taking a motorcycle to Europe cracked me up.

I know some people are tired of Wompsters Inc. and Listler, but I still love them and their crazy antics in Marina del Rey.

Marisa and Listler didn't even talk much this episode. It was mostly the rest of the cast talking over each other...but I thought that was a good thing. It was fun.

how you guys feel about the CBB tv show in general?

really doesnt get any talk here, tho there was a separate thread at one point?

I like Cudi so I thought he'd be a good fit but the show really just lost a ton without reggie. he just aint as good

also ridiculous that he hasnt been on the podcast yet

I haven't really dug the transition from Season 1 to 2. The change from 3 to 2 guests makes sense (especially with their big series orders), but I don't really dig the packages and b-plots as much.

I really like the cbb tv show.

It's hit or miss and I liked Reggie more than Cudi. at the end of this recent 10 ep block, though, it felt like they really found a rhythm. he fit really well in the witchbusters ep last week and in the summer vacation ep. Every episode leaning on a concept leads to varying returns. plenty of them are great though, the Birdman parody was smart and impressive, the summer vacation one was great. Celebrity guests are similarly hit or miss but sometimes they surprise me. I like that Cudi being on means people like A$AP Rocky show up. Michael Sheen, Brie Larson were some recent hysterical guests. show also puts a bunch of stupid funny characters from Matt Besser and Claudia O'Doherty and Paul Brittain and Brett Gelman and Brendon Small and Noel Wells and Maria Bamford on my TV, so. It's a relentlessly silly and pleasant show--its tone really does remind me of Pee-wee's movies/tv, which I think Scott's often cited as a key reference point. I hope it keeps on for a while.

for me it just never hit the same level of Scott lookin to solve the mistery of the death of his ex-wife or "man's cave? more like a man's grave" bits

those were some high highs, and felt more like classic cbb bits

"Man Cave? More like a man's grave," should be Scotty's epitaph on his actual tombstone one day. Great bit.

I love the show, my girlfriend hates it. I think it's a lot more hit-or-miss than the podcast is. Another good critique I've read is that the character guests on it (and I think Horatio Sanz has been noted for this a lot in the avclub reviews) don't actually have enough time to settle into their bit like they do on the podcast. Fourvel in podcast form will always be better than the 4-5 minute segments on the tv show.

Scott really plays up his cheery loud persona moreso than anywhere else and while it can be hit or miss it's just so fucking different to anything else in comedy right now, which just got really personal / self deprecating and can get tiring

cbb tv is borderline pee wee herman. I know we got that "hipster comedy" label but it really is so, so unique and refreshing.

The CBB TV show is fun background noise and not an awful lot more than that. I stopped watching it regularly a while ago.

I kind of wish it were called something else, simply because it has very little in common with podcast and I don't think it serves as a particularly good gateway to it.

Agreed. Not to harp on season 1, but with more guests, there was more time for each and chance for them to inter-talk.

It seemed like there was a period of a few weeks earlier this year when Scott was trying to shove the HH guys down everyone's throats (had them on one ep of the podcast and in the ads in multiple eps). I hated them intensely, so I'm glad he got away from that. I tried listening to a couple different eps of HH and I just really don't like those dudes.

Hooray for more CBB on Netflix! I only found out about the podcast because of the TV show being on Netflix. I love both, but they are very different animals. I think the TV show is a little more accessible (I'm saying that because my wife has grown to mostly had the podcast, but usually has no beef with the TV show).

Different strokes! I'm in the same camp as your wife: I can usually deal with the TV show, but find the podcast pretty grating. To be honest, I can't stand Scott Akurman. I actually find his comedy painful, and don't understand where all the love for him gestates. His observations are obvious and without the irony that would turn them into satires of bad comedy. Every time a guest drops a homonym, he'll leap on it and steer their interesting bits into hackish, painful wastes of air. Sometimes he'll say something I find funny, and I'll feel a rush of amazement because it's such a rare occurance. I resent having to listen to his CBB shtick in order to enjoy the superb comics who appear on his show.

...And that's what I think of the comedic stylings of Scott Akurman. I have no desire to bash him further or convince others of his unfunniness; it just feels good to opine.

It didn't really like HH at first, but it's become my favorite Earwolf podcast.

Anybody who really liked Fran Gillespie as Marco should like her ep of feral's Doughboys on Subway, which addresses the Jared controversy pretty well and funnily. She genuinely has a lot of Marco's tics and is eager to be kinda offensive which is hilarious. Doughboys in general is a fun podcast I think, I like Nick Wiger and Mike Mitchell so even if it's not as consistently funny as other podcasts they do a great job of diving into what makes a chain restaurant great.
Scott getting his ass-beat by Santa; animated.

I really like Doughboys. I agree it's not always funny (more of a chuckle every now and then type of podcast) but I find Nick and Mike to be very charming. Plus I really like chain restaurants so it's fun to hear a podcast discuss them.

Guest on LaPF Hollywood Handbook may have been the worst ever. Like Pauley Shore bad. I don't think he's ever heard of improvisation before. Kind of funny to watch in a train wreck like way, but Hayes was almost visibly upset. Sean was awesome though.

I would love a CBB podcast episode featuring Claudia O’Doherty, Jemaine Clement, and R. Shrift (Nick Kroll's charac). Musical guest is of course Courtney Barnett.

That would be really weird if Hayes was upset with gemberling. He's on improv4humans all the time and they almost certainly know eachother.
