Maybe I was over-reacting about about HH. It was Gemberling. I've never head of him before and, I'll just say his style of humor is a little slow for me. Maybe it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't a great ep.

Yeah he mentioned writing some parts of it in the recent pisode with Eric Stonstreet (I think, the modern family guy).

Yup. All the obvious Scott Auckerman/Neil Campbell jokes were pretty great ("...for a person"). And the show actually ended on time. Which means that it was pretty good for an award show (apart from all those GoT wins).

Today's CBB is amazing.
PFT, Lapkus, off the rails from the getgo, Orphan Black, Scott bashing. It had it all!
Tatiana and Kristian were great guests. Though I do wonder what new listeners coming for Orphan Black think of the show.

Great CBB. Tatiana was great and PFT/LL were awesome as usual. So bizarre.

Had to pause CBB this week because I was literally in physical pain from laughing. PFT and Lapkus are a dream team.
I think what works best is that they're both fantastic at key improvising skills: Lauren will just blurt out something completely random and off the cuff and PFT will pick it up and run with it no matter what.
And it's always great when the 'normal' guests play characters too. I love that there was what...8 people to go around at the end of Would You Rather.

It's enhanced ten times by Paul's unabashed laughter bursts--even when he hasn't been introduced yet. Loved the subtle Tom Leykis jabs too.

I started at PFT (2nd one), Lapkus, and Paul Scheer episodes to get into it and that worked. For me getting into the show was more about finally understanding their sense of humor rather than knowing specific callbacks.
Yeah, these are solid ones. Also the first fans episode is great. No one ever gets my wet pizza reference now.

I did not know Tom Leykis was a real person until probably a year after knowing Adomian's character.
It made it all the more insane.
I agree it's a good show but at the same time the entire movie section is Howard shitting on movies and how they're too long. It's even worse when there's an animated kids movie on the list. But that's why it's fun, hearing Howard have to double down on the dumb things he says.

They have a "best of" episode that really got me into it, but it might be behind the Howl paywall at this point.
I listened to the first few when it started. Now I'm catching up with the backlog. I love it. Favourite yet is the first of the live episodes (with Colin Hanks). It sounded like they all had a very good time!
What spont really excels in is consistency. It never blows my mind, it's simply and consistently funny. Knew going in improvisers like Varney and Gourley would deliver, but the mvp has been Colleen Smith. she's hysterical

I feel bad for Matt Gourley for having the unfortunate luck of being the Volkswagen spokesperson.
The PFT episode as Santa was pretty good, especially since those are two solid characters. I remember dying at the Adomian episode's intro segment, but that was before Lapkis joined in.

Matt Besser's episode is really unique and one of the best IMO. I liked the most recent episode. "John Early: Celebrity Wow" was good but extremely short. The Teacher's Lounge episode was pretty good. Brandon Johnson's episode was great too.
