I do not have an XP CD so whats the easist thing I can do?

Um... you can't, really. If you are having an OS problem, deleting unrelated files isn't going to help anything.

Well in that case, the easiest way is to go through each directory and make sure you get rid of every file there! Delete unneeded accounts, search for more personal entries in the registry and delete those keys/folders, etc. etc.

No easy way. Since XP is so easy to get a hold of, why not just blank the whole thing?
If you've got the product key, that's all that's needed to legitimately reinstall the OS.

Yeah I would just do a secure format of the drive, reinstall XP and sell on. I always like getting machines from companies who did a basic format and thing that their files are gone.

if you're selling it with XP installed but not licensed it's illegal anyways, so why not just grab a copy, format a couple times (with zero-filling or something if you're worried about that) and reinstall. if you're selling it without an OS, just format and sell it.
