Disclaimer: I don't know if the person in question is sick or otherwise hindered (though nobody else does either?), but...

Anybody know Every Frame a Painting? Well, I was a fan and wanted to check out the videos I missed in the past year, but... There are none. Thing is, Tony Zhou has a Patreon. 4500 Patreons. Around 7.7 k Dollars and people asking on the wall that he should comes back. Am I missing something or is that a little bit bizarre?

In before the Allies vanish forever.

EDIT: I am dumb. It charges per vid, not month. NEVERMIND.

Tony's been doing video essays for Criterion.

That's kind of on them also. They don't have anyone monitoring their levels during podcasts like at GT.

I doubt they do much post processing on the audio and while most of them have solid mic discipline, Huber and Damiani definitely need to work on it.

I really miss having Ian in the booth, honestly.

I remember posting a few weeks back at how disappointed I was by how dismissive and immediately cynical the Allies were about UFO 50 on the podcast, especially as it was the creator of Spelunky and the creator of Downwell's next game

Glad to see they've changed their tune a bit since seeing the game in action.

Sorry for the double post but what a coincidence after that remaster/remake game on the Q&A...

LA Noire Getting a remaster

I love this game so damn much but I don't know if I can play it again because after playing it and then doing a couch coop version too I feel like I'd remember all the answers to the cases. Damn. Still considering, I wonder if it will be a fun game for handheld

I forget. How did the different allies answer that one

I think the majority picked 'forget/trash' (whatever the similar answer was) but a couple picked remaster/remake inc. Huber.

I think it's a good choice, to be honest. I feel like a rarity on GAF that I actually liked the game (especially how all the cases intertwined) and it's decent technology that won't be again used for a long time.

Huber loves L.A. Noire, so he'll be pleased by this news.

Imagine his reaction to L.A. Noire 2 during a live conference. Hnnnnng!

I would love a sequel but of course people have said team bondi's gone for good so I suppose it's a pipe dream

...although of course the remasters would seem to suggest there could be more down the pipeline

I do wonder if LA Noire will be the deciding factor for a possible GTA V port on Switch. With GTA V being a sales phenomenon, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Hearing them talk about there top ten arguments got me thinking that would be a great alternative group stream (like hall of greats).
Patrons vote between 3 potential top tens then whatever wins the allies have two hours to put together and agree on the EZA official list to be immortalised forever.
No produced video or anything, they just decide the list. Could do it every few months or whatever.

Got around to watching the panel. Loved how relaxed everyone seemed, and the responses were great. I hope they do more panels like this in the future, I really enjoyed it.

Someone please GIF Jones' expression at 53:59 in this week's podcast. I'm sure there will be many uses for it.

I'd say this thread has been always positive, to the point that some fair criticism has been flagged as trolling or personal attack. I don't mean things like "Damiani is always wrong" or even worse things said in the yt comments about Ian. Blood and Damiani are known to read the thread, so I think it's helpful to give them feedback and they shouldn't be shielded from fair constructive criticism. A patreon audience can easily grow to be very insular and the last thing we need is an EZA defense force.
Listening to the panel, I heard the guy asking the question, but at the time I didn't understand the context. Still unsure about it actually.

Someone made the point on the QA that a lot of their stuff is really big.

I wonder if they could do this.

Take frametrap, and for Patrons, put the whole episode up. But just on youtube, cut it up in smaller sections, and dole them out over the week. So one day would be what Huber was playing, then Blood, etc.

Could give casual people more incentive to watch, rather than opening up the video and seeing this 4 hour brick just laying there.

That'd be awful. Frame Trap's already something you can easily consume in your on rhythm - I usually listen to it over two days. Holding back content for the illusion of compactness would be nonsensical.

Many acting like it was some outsider taking a stab at gaf while it was probably just someone from this thread.

Don't think that's exactly what the person was asking for. I think it was a more just a polite way of asking for more produced content, quite a few other people in this thread have expressed the same thing. Cutting up the podcast (which can be very hit and miss and might demand more patience) and cluttering up the yt channel probably isn't the answer to that.
Now if only they had some kind of best of videos!

As a Kinda Funny fan, no. They do that currently and did it to their games podcast to the point of ruining it.

I prefer longform content, and produced stuff takes way more effort, so I don't think they should expand much beyond what they've already said they'd do. That'd said, it wouldn't kill them to have Game Sleuths and Cup of Jones pop up more regularly.

Naw I wouldn't do that.

Honestly the thing they need is something like SomeGameNew's best of EZA series on the main channel. Condenses all the highlights from the streams/podcasts to the 15 minutes of gold. Do that each week and I think they're good

I need this, only way I can catch up to all the missed streams.

Huber continues to get what he wants. Anyway we can get this guy to start obcessing over Advance Wars or Rogue Squadron or KOTOR so we can new games for those series? :p

Man maybe that one guy was right about this being a dark place of the internet if I can't even get one person to explain one little meme to me... Sickening...

Can someone explain to me (or link me?) the origin of the Sifo Dyas meme? Somehow I've completely missed it.

Ok ok.

The group started talking about Sifo Diyas and how he's just this mystery Jedi that was there for 5 seconds and then never mentioned again. You know how the eza guys get. Just some random thing that gets brought up and gets snowballed into this whole meme. Now they have an obsession on finding out more about him.

There really isn't too much to it.

Also, they talked about how to pronounce soften. With a hard T or soft T.
Then someone in chat said "Soften Diyas", and that pretty much cemented that meme.

I'm super disappointed to not get Huber's reaction to the opening of Destiny 2. (Not the beta mission, but what happens directly after.)

The South Park preview made me realize I probably prefer conversation style previews more than narrated ones like this. You don't have control over what Ubisoft decides to release/spoil in advance but actually seeing it played out adds another layer of spoilery in addition to reading or hearing about it which was inevitable with Ubi's strategy.

yeah, if you have any intentions of playing the game, that Fractured But Whole preview is a bad thing to watch. it was just like here's everything that happens in the first couple of hours.
I dunno what I expected

Eh, there's more than enough people outside of GAF who throw insults/jabs at it, whether because they've been perma banned, feel like their console of choice isn't treated the way it deserves here or are just people who generalise GAF based on a couple of threads they read. It could be anyone.

Regardless of whether he is or isn't though, I watched it earlier today and thought it was a pretty cringeworthy comment. Anyone who thinks GAF is anywhere near "one of the dark places on the internet" should really get a clue. Sure, GAF can be bad at times, particularly when over-reactions snowball into a complete mess, but it's still probably the most reasonable and knowledgeable large gaming forum on the internet. Nowhere near the shitshow 4chan and reddit often are.

Please no.

Right now the only change I'd suggest is dropping Community Comments. It might be a difficult change to make because it is their $10 tier but it sounds like Jones puts way too much effort into those videos for what, honestly, isn't great content and that's why he's months behind on them. I just think his time would be better suited working on other stuff.

Anyway, I loved this week's Huber Syndrome. I've only played Edith Finch of the games they named (great game) but Night in the Woods is one of the two 2017 indie games I really need to play (Pyre being the other one). And while Little Nightmares isn't as much of a priority as those two, it's on my list too.

Totally agree. I've been featured on it a couple times but I wouldnt' miss it at all if it went. It's a huge amount of editing and time dedicated to something that is essentially fan-service (If I wanna read hot-takes from the community, I'd read this thread or the forums, I don't feel like it should be video content) - I hope they can think of a decent replacement for that tier at some point.

Yeah, I had a few times during the preview that I wanted to turn it off as I it was somewhat on the spoilery side.
In the end, I am sure there is plenty of other stuff to see and do in the game (the last one was surprisingly long), but there is plenty of stuff that some people will see as spoilers.
But youtube is full with South Park game video's at the moment, so I think it is Ubisoft strategy.

That said, I am quite sure I am going to enjoy this game (totally forgot it comes out in October, I am probably playing Forza 7 at that moment though and I still have to play Yakuza Kiwami before March :p, not sure when I will start it).

Seeing this made me want to play the game even more for sure (because of all the delays, I wasn't really looking forward to the game as much as I was when it was announced/when I preordered it. EZA fixed that for sure).

I think they need to get in a position where they get more people involved in video editing to give Jones some slack. Whether that's one of the others learning the ropes by doing some weekly highlights video (kill two birds with one stone) maybe with the aid of the community posting timestamps for the videos or getting the money to afford someone full time to do it. That would hopefully allow them to put out more produced content too. Obviously not sure how viable it is for someone to try and learn them editing skills while they have whatever else going on outside of EZA.

Podcast and FT were good stuff, as always.

Regarding long form stuff, I love it. Especially considering how little gaming audio content is there for the Allies relative to their entire output.

As far as I know did he complain that he didn't have time to watch everything.
Cutting it up in pieces doesn't change the time needed to watch it.

Also, there are plenty of times I watch the podcast of frame trap in smaller pieces. If you are logged in, youtube remembers where you were in the video and you can leave the video open if you want to watch/listen to the rest later in the day (I do this at work sometimes). They have timestamps for all sections in the description of most of their podcasts as well, which comes in very handy. In that sense, they are already cut into smaller pieces anyway.

It seems that most of the later (p)reviews are edited by Don or Ian instead of Jones. Also I think Damiani edits Friend Code and I am quite sure Ben edited Tales from the East.

I finally watched the snippet about the dark places of the Internet question (I'll try to watch the entire panel later) but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. At least he named a place where it does happen (YouTube) but from the sound of it I would say he is someone that has either participated or lurks the thread. I have heard/read from a few other gaf users that they avoid this thread because they don't like to see anything hateful written about the Allies, though I don't think it's much of an issue here.

There's only been one time in the year or so I've been on gaf that I would say I was uncomfortable with what was going on in the thread (can't remember why, not even sure it had anything to do with the Allies) but all I did was wait until the conversation turned into a cheerier one before I made a post again.

Conversely I am constantly bothered by YouTube and perhaps masochisticly read through the comments of the vids while I'm watching, even though there's no point in me looking.

Edit: also I love this Huber Syndrome so much, everything they talk about I either want to play or recommend.

Little Nightmares is on sale on psn right now (the US one at least I dunno about the others)

Weird South Park preview. I'm not in "super pumped, media blackout!" mode for that game or anything, but I'm not sure I wanted a detailed breakdown of everything that happens in the first 4 hours either. Excited for the game though, anyone know when Stick of Truth comes out on PS4? Or is that JUST a preorder bonus released on release day?
