Easy Allies |OT3| "That sounds like the GameTrailers guy!"

It's because those two don't really have giant announcements

Last year was obviously pretty weak (Sony didn't even have a Euro conference) but that doesn't mean they haven't had big announcements at them. Yakuza 6, Yakuza Kiwami, Nioh, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters and Gravity Rush 2 were announced at TGS 2015. While Gran Turismo Sport, Driveclub Bikes and Detroit: Become Human were announced at Sony's PGW 2015 conference. If anything, PSX has typically been much weaker than either of those shows.

So I'm mostly just lurking in these threads nowadays, as I never have any time to watch the streams (living in Europe and all) or keeping up with threads like this at all really, but I'd just like to say that that Easy Update episode was delightful. Making this a recurring game with different teams with the other Allies would be amazing.
Yeah. I think this could be great as a once a month thing.

Oh okay I'm remembering 2015 better now. Hopefully it will have a good turnout again this time!

I also remember Wild was announced at PGW and I wonder if that will be coming back this year, it's been a while since we've seen it

I'm pretty sure it was announced at Gamescom 2014 because it feels like it's been forever since it was announced. But yeah, another showing at PGW 2017 should be a given considering how quiet they've been on it. Same thing goes with Dreams.

Off the top of my head, didn't we get Lost Legacy, The Last Of Us Part II, and Ni No Kuni 2 announced at PSX last year? I feel like that's bigger than the typical Gamescom/PGW/TGS announcements.

Ni no Kuni 2 was announced at PSX in 2015 (alongside Ace Combat 7, which from what I remember was the only other notable announcement that year), but yeah, that's why I said typically. Last year's PSX was insane but 2014 and 2015 were "merely" decent shows and that's what I'm expecting this year.

Has Kyle given any updates or talked about his Boxpeek project during his streams? Just curious how it's coming along and if things are going as he expected them to.

Unless he's said something during his solo streams, then he's been quiet on the matter. In last months update, he said if the first episode isn't out by November 1st, he would put out another update.

So hopefully things are going smoothly.

Not much in terms of release but I asked Kyle at PAX how it was to work on something so creative and he said it was tough, but incredibly rewarding.

Have you at least done the main side quests, like
the attack on the people who attacked the Nora
? I found those quests to be some of the best in the game, at least until you start getting into the end game.
It says something that even though I did most of the major side quests I can't tell if I did this one or not.

Anyone know who's reviewing Destiny2? I'm guessing Huber? Although I think Jones did the first one so maybe him?

I finished Kiwami yesterday, 30% completion, 20 hours and also watched Ben's review. Overall I pretty much agree with his review, especially in regards to the waves of knives and friggin' gun enemies in later chapters. I liked the Kiwami moves, though and they might have overdone it with Majima Everywhere at times. Regardless, I love the game, not as much as the brilliant Zero, obviously, but still - highly recommended. On that note, it is also important to note that playing Zero first is the best way, can't really imagine playing Kiwami without it.

As a huge Hotline Miami-fan, I do not like Mr. Shifty. In almost all ways inferior and never hits a particular high note. A little bit disappointed.

Also, does the single player of Everybody's Golf work without Plus? Don't know how the game is set up. Cancelled my subscription the other month and I don't plan to resubbing anytime soon. (Oh wait, Gran Turismo Sport next month... fuck :D)

Still working on Easy Livin'. Around the five hour mark of Sunshine right now and the short while where Kyle and Damiani played alone together was magical, really cool.

Edit: Love the bi-weekly sponsor reading of AWWR Ghost of War. :D Not a native speaker here, but without the text I never would have figured it out. :D

HowLongToBeat is one of my fav gaming related websites. So helpful!

Everybody's Golf should work without Plus. You specifically have to go online, it's not really always on.

Doesn't sound like Huber made it to max rank online. Once you hit that, you can then use those tickets not just for warp pads, but for upgrading clubs.

Been looking high and low and I cannot find any stream VoDs or youtube videos of the EZA panel :(
I hope someone recorded it.

so it's not recorded i guess
the Q&A vid was good enough.btw props to Kyle for acknowledging they do not do anything to attract new viewers to the channel

and seriously , is Game Sleuth still happening?

I use How Long to Beat to basically decide what I'm going to play next and how to budget my time, it's wonderful

I really don't think this year/my backlog would be an issue if I wasn't such a completionist, it's a really bad habit to have in this day and age.

I never play games beyond not enjoying them but I'll play them for much longer than I need to just for the sense of finishing it.

That destiny 2 preview was really good. Lots of good footage captured and some nice early impressions of the game through the level cap. Tells you what it is and what it isn't.

Heh The early YouTube comments were pretty salty. Those usually show up later on

I'm looking like crazy forward to Huber/Ben "Weekly Hunt" (+ anyone else that wants to jump in from the allies).
It's like unreal. I'm 160% psyched about MHW and 80% of that is EZA weekly hunt streams. Going to be my first real hardcore dive in with MH as well.

also thank you so much for frame trap because i'm about to go on a 6 hour flight and i know what i'm going to do for 3 and a half hours.

Ben don't let anyone ever tell you Frame Trap is too long.

When I went to Canada on my own earlier this year, I spent a lot of time listening to Tabletop Adventures when travelling (two 9 hours flights still wasn't enough time to catch up). The shows make for excellent travel companions, I still remember the moment I was on a coach from Vancouver to Whistler when Huber/Pomper goes "WHO AM I!?". Almost burst out lauhging at the back of the bus.

Have a safe flight!

Rocked a Frame Trap from Vancouver to LA earlier this year and it was basically the perfect length.

I listened to Frame Trap on a flight as well and I agree, it made for a great travel companion. One thing that was slightly annoying though was how soft their voices were (I think I listened to the ep where Huber shares his critique of ARMS). I could barely hear what they were saying over the plane sounds. Of course turning the volume up didn't help because whenever they would laugh it would get really loud.

I really need to invest in some noise canceling headphones.

We got a shout out as a dark place of the Internet at the panel... Woo?

Great panel, though. And I had no issues with the quality.

Thought the Q&A was good, with some actually interesting & thought provoking questions, tbh.

Also, can we get "The Dark Place of the Internet" as the OT4 title?
Yeah I'm pleasantly surprised, seems like it smooths out as it goes on though

The BOTW shout out though, oof

Lol the GAF shoutout. WE DON"T WANT YOUR MONEY ANYMORE

This thread has become an absolute crap fest at times to be fair

At least those that have caused such things to happen from time to time either haven't posted here in awhile, or learned to keep certain comments to themselves.

Other than that, I'd say everyone here is cool.

Sure. It's a message board community thread. Arguments are hard to control and can see much more exaggerated when done in that format.

But I'd also say this place has done a good job in settling in and found a good groove. Most of the rabble rousers have either moved on or calmed down.

And whether others in the community like it or not this is still probably the biggest "unofficial" EZA community spot.

I tried their forums but it's too inactive and barren in its current format. Then there's the discord and a couple other pockets. Not sure if that reddit is still going.

Speaking as someone who hasn't really posted in the OT because of some of this stuff, it's gotten better and it's never been on the level of youtube comments. I suspect the questioner has an issue with Gaf.

Can't say much about the patreon page itself since I don't go there interact with others much but I'll just say the honeymoon on holding EZA members to general standard of being loving and respecting has kinda worn off for me(by seeing people being exactly not that in other places making be less so as well in response sadly). Be it here or elsewhere and even speaking about the internet in general the crapshoot is always there. Even at EZA. So in that sense I don't feel like we're that much better than other moderated places I'm a part of as far as the community itself is concerned.

Yeah, the last time I've seen someone here be shitty I just called them out for once after repeatedly trying to give the benefit of the doubt several times. Maybe just coincidence that they stopped posting after that but dunno, when people are still rude for the 10th time in how they express themselves maybe the only thing that helps is talking to them in the same way *sadly*.

Edit: Still I do love the motto EZA has and it's something to strive for, for sure.

In the past year and a half that this community has existed I've seen the several occasions where someone comes in and says something like "I hate Damiani in videos, he's always wrong " or "how dare they do this to us Patrons, absolutely disgusting" and people say "hey, calm down, get some perspective"

Of course people can go overboard either way with hating or drinking the KoolAid. It's whatever.

I just think it's funny to go run to a Q&A to say "HEY, THESE GUYS SHOULDN'T BE IN THE COMMUNITY" like you're taking the high ground.

There are far darker issues to worry about with anonymity and toxicity on the internet than people having discussions on GAF, a heavily moderated site where people generally aren't being inflammatory as much as blunt

Especially funny to talk about policing the community when the very issue you're bringing up is a community policing itself from, as stated, "non-constructive comments"

Agreed man. Anecdotally people that generally have these stances I've seen just been generally hypocritical. GAF got a bad rep in a couple of places I post so I do see these type of people a lot. They also generally share being unbelievably selective in their reading.

And I don't necessarily mean to defend gaf all that much given that my 1 and only ban has been instigated by a pedophile ex mod(the amirox guy) whining to a current one but I just have a hard time people always generalizing places. Basically bad and good is everywhere.
That has held true to this day for me.

And even at its worst, the thread has always been better than YouTube comments. Hold your head high... Ish

Yea I'm super curious about this question asker. Can't watch the panel since I'm boarding my plane right now but who the hell thinks gaf is bad compared to the dumpster fire that is YouTube? Most people in this thread behave and even when someone comes into shitpost people generally tell them to step off

Gaf is a happy frolic compared to like actual shitty places on the net
