Edinburgh 360 impressions

Just back from lunch and had a brief demo of the X360 at Game in Princes St.

The only playable games I got to try were COD2 and Kameo.

First thing - the dashboard seems to be the best thing about 360 - nice, intuitive interface.

COD2 (which was labelled pre-release demo) was distinctly underwhelming; I hope that the LCD was not configured properly or something as IMHO Riddick on my Xbox at home looks significantly better. Jaggies galore, appalling collision detection, from a graphics POV very dissapointing.

Kameo was a big improvement visually, but the demo wouldn't let me skip the intro cut-scene so I only got a minute or two of actual playtime, so not much comment on gameplay.

The controller is so *small*, which for me is not so good as I'm a big fan of the Duke, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

On the whole I would have to say that vieiwng the 360 'in the flesh' has actually made me more inclined to hold off on a purchase...
