I was going to build a new PC in time for the DLC but guess what I haven't even started researching yet
For me when I want replay Elden Ring, I play it from scratch so I can make entirely new build but it take at least two playthrough to complete my build... I dont think I cant make it it until DLC comes out.

I started my DLC build. I have a Level 113 character. I’m not sure what level I should have my character at or at which point should I hold off from doing. Wait to finish the northern part of the map? Wait to
burn the tree?
I keep wondering how and where we start the DLC. Certain events shouldn’t or doesn’t cancel certain things.

Just found a nice price for the DLC and base game.
Had to double dip on PC as when the DLC is done I plan on playing extra modded content on the PC.
There's some impressive stuff out there, I saw Sekiro's deflect mechanic, including an extra bar on each boss (probably each enemy). Having just finished that game, it's tempting.

But if nothing else the ability to remove the slow, useless logo screens (including the blinding white From one) before the title screen and the chromatic aberration from the game itself is excellent. I also changed the FOV slightly IIRC.

It was well worth sacrificing the same old lazy jokes posted in messages throughout the game, and I wasn't summoning anyway so it was no loss.

Looking forward to trying the dlc even though I got stuck on godskin duo and never finished the game
If you want tips, let us know. There's something extremely effective for balancing the fight in your favour.

Mohg is difficult as well, but it mostly comes down to learning the moveset and reacting/punishing where appropriate.

I did not realize they nerfed Rivers of Blood. Here I was playing my new MC with a +6 moonveil thinking id respec for Rivers of Blood. It doesn’t do anything it use to. I switch over to Blasphemous Blade at level 120. No wonder on NG+3 I had to switch to the Blasphemous Blade because it was the only weapon that took significant damage at the very end.

Horfrost Stomp being scaled back was understandable. That art broke the game back at launch, but to wait this long to nerf corpse piler just makes me sad. 😭

ROB was justifiably infamous pre-patch, but I forgot about Hoarfrost. I made a conscious choice to not use it unless needed as I don't like being OP on a first run at all, and I remember Gargoyle Duo being one that drove me to it.

I heard Darkmoon Greatsword was also nerfed that weapon still incredibly strong. It does good damage but also its ash of war ability dose lot of poise damage.

The best part is it only cost FP to activated but using actual Moonlight skill doesn't cost FP.

Curious to see how much Rivers of Blood got nerfed. I’m putting my runes into Arcane until I reach 20. At level 210 I can use most weapons which is pretty nice.

Mohg in NG+ is no joke. I wasn’t able to do much with the Blasphemous Blade so I switched back to good old Bloodhound’s Fang, and holy shit what a difference it made. It made a joke out of Mohg and the fight was over in less than a minute. I guess certain weapons are extremely effective against some bosses but not so much against others.

Not much left to do before the DLC’s release. Might do the Haligtree next.

The RoB nerf, from what I remember, is largely in the extended range being reduced and moving the most damaging parts back to weapon only, as well as of course scaling back the bleed of it all. Before you were chopping down gods from a safe distance but it's much fairer now.

The "new RoB" is putting double slash on a nagakiba with bloodflame blade. Seen a quite a few people use that in pvp

You think that's bad? At least they still function. There is zero reason to use Bloodhound Step skill now as rolling twice is safer and covers more distance at no FP cost.

I played through the game on PS4 and got almost all Trophies. Now I took my save to PS5 and already unlocked all 3 endings lolol. Now the question...NG+ for easy trophies or...a new build in time for Shadow of the Erdtree.

Also I had a bit of a scare when I preordered the DLC because it was only the PS4 version...Thankfully it ended up changing to PS4 and PS5!

I wonder if they’re going to patch the cliff jump glitch for runes at Mohgwyn Palace.
I also wonder how high the percentage for Mohg will be once the DLC drops. It’s at 34.4% now.

My NG character is almost ready for DLC after 30 hours on this character. I just need to get a couple talismans to get my attack rating where I want it. 36 more days!

Mohg is one of those bosses I need to practice against because I found him to be a pain, but because he's so far out of the way in a place of not so much consequence I rarely do it. I really hope they include a feature like Sekiro's for fighting bosses again, it would have so much more use in ER with the build variations you can do. An ideal testing ground for the experimentation the game encourages.

I hope they don't patch the cliff jump, even if killing the Albinaurics with the rune boost talisman is a good alternative, it's always funny for me to see the bird jump to its doom. Speaking of farming runes, the sacred relic sword does wonders for killing a large number of mobs in one hit.

I found him to be relatively easy compared to the rest of the bosses. Maybe I got lucky? He took me a few attempts. I don’t consider myself to be a good player either.

This isn’t the bird. That is forgivable if you ask me. You actually have to hit the bird. This one is a little tricky. You have to wall jump up a cliff and drop off the map. Keep attacking and you’ll fall for 1-2 minutes. Everything on the map dies or around the area dies. You’ll get over 170k each time.

lol I just realized you must already know that. Sorry

My bad, I thought this was about the stupid bird. I checked this on YouTube and wow, I never knew about it. Must be a lot more runes on NG+.

Is there a build randomizer website or something I can use to randomly decide a build? I'd like to do a 2nd playthrough before the DLC drops, but I dunno what to aim for. First playthrough was completely blind and I was just a generalist with stats, ended up using the Sword of Night and Flame for most of the playthrough, dipping into Wing of Astel/Mantis Blade now and again to switch it up.

I dont know about any randomizer but there are video guides that can give you idea what build you want go with.

Is there are more OP class than samurai? Dawn, I'm razing through the early game bosses and have to limit my Uchi upgrades on purpose to not make it too easy. :D

My main character is still sitting at Malenia and boy it's hard to go back to him.

I wonder if the expansion will get new classes to start.

Bit of lucky and different playerstyles and build, really a common thing in Souls series.

But of all the demigods he is relative OK if you have the vial to break his curse.

Thief is the most difficult, but more rewarding because their focus in arcane and early Reduvia.

But yeah, of all classes Samurai is not only the best to start, but the most OP. Even with the bloodlost nerf he still hit like crazy.

I never even knew about the dial either. I just dropped my mimic and we both had moonlight great swords.

Yep. Use before start the battle. When he start to spell his curse just attack him with katanas and add frost build, mix of bloodlost from the katana inself and frost will drain his HP very quick.

Not only that, in the capital city after you go down the sewers there is an item that stun him for 4 seconds and can be used for like three times.

Thats why he can be relative easy. I avoid using all those itens in order to beat him fair an square, but you can use summons, use the vial that break the curse and the item that stuns him.

Bare in mind you can only use the stun item in the first phase. The second phase is where he get wings and became imune to this item.

Astrologer. You start with not only the expected basic spell but also a wide and penetrating spell that murders mobs. Yes, bosses input read, but Night spells are barely weaker than normal ones and it's not forever until you start getting them. You also have Rock Sling as a fairly early get that is extremely effective because it bypasses input reading.

The only time I've ever picked a magic class for my first playthrough of any Souls game was was Demon's Souls, and that was me restarting because it was a difficult game. Elden Ring's casting is even more OP, and with the multitude of buff options you can wreck anything. I never pick caster classes first off because they trivialise so much, and that's true in ER where the only boss that really resists is Rennala.

If you want to return to your main, one of the builds I found effective for Malenia was Great Stars with Prayerful Strike. GS recovers on each hit, and PS gives you a huge chunk of health back. You get to turn the tables on her, and you don't really get to take too many swings at her anyway so it being a big heavy weapon doesn't really hold you back. Blasphemous Blade for similar results.

Or, if you want to do absolutely nothing at all, give your Mimic nothing but 2 spells incants and let him do the whole thing himself. I mean it.

Just watching a few vids on YouTube.

Godrick’s transformation has to be one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen in any video game. It just hit so different. At that moment I knew I was looking at a GOAT contender.

Damn Miyazaki, you mad bastard.

Great cutscene, and a great idea. Godrick might be a simple boss (as an early one should be), but his presentation is great.

And as a bonus, his weapons are slept on. I had a playthrough where I only used the axe and the Grafted Dragon after I got them, and the GD destroys bigger enemies if you get a couple boosts to fire damage going and get up close. Quick example:

I sold my Series X, which I platinumed the game on, and just don't have time to go through loads of it again on PC, so I found a save on Nexus Mods that's set me up right in front of Miquella's egg with a 150 level character, and a similar build to what my last one was when I went into NG+. Lovely.

Alright, wtf did the updates do to this game? I thought I'd hop in to refamiliarize myself prior to the DLC dropping, haven't played it since release when I got the plat trophy with over 200 hours clocked. Turns out a bunch of my grace waypoints are missing, secret Halligtree medallion is gone, I'm now back in Sol and need to fight this fucker Niall again, this shit happen to anyone else? Weird stuff.

Hyped af for the DLC though, while I'd normally say DLC can't be GOTY all indications are it's longer than most full games so for me it qualifies lol. Praise the Erdtree!
