capptcmblack, me and bob_arctor are Jets/Yanks fans...you can't really pinpoint what each New Yorker roots for because there are different combos.

Although I dont buy the whole Yankee/Giants...Mets/Jets thing, usually most of the fans I've encountered are Yankee/Giants.

Yeah the Pats have faded in the 2nd half of the season. They still won, but they didn't really dominate anyone except for Anthony Smith.

I guess if faded means winning only 10 more in a row the 2nd half your correct. Why does that matter how they won. The goal is not to dominate it's to win and they do that pretty well. So the Giants aren't that good because they won by a total of 7 points the last 2 games and didn't dominate? Pats haters are all the same. When they win big they are running up the score. When they grind out a win were not that good because they didn't blow out the team, then it's a weak schedule blah blah blah. It's pretty amusing though.

What can I say, the TV showed underdogs.

Oh, I spent my early life in Boston and family's still there. I am of a conflicted soul.

All ya haters say we gowt a problem with tha daaaahkies in Bahstan but we elected a black gov'nah in Massachusetts and it's nice to see the daaaahkies finally gave us something in return: A day off to celebrate tha Paytreeuts domination a' tha Chaaaaaarjahs and a return to tha Sooper Bowl! 18-0, ya shitbawxes!

Naturally, there's Welkah finding the endzone, like always. And Tommy Brady overcoming a few minor setbacks, nah thanks to that lazy daaaarkie Moss. What's with being a non-factah in the playoffs, ya shiftless daaaahkie!

:lol

How can you possibly say this with a straight face, Mr. 7 Game Lead?
thank god for that. the last thing i wanted was the Mets in the playoffs with a 3-0 NCS lead, only to blow it by losing to their rivals in the biggest playoff collapse in the history of mankind.

Oh yeah, 2004. Forgot about that. And by forgot I mean buried deep down within the bowels of my soul to never, ever see the light of day again. Thanks for the reminder though. Now if you'll excuse me, I seem to have something in my eye...

This is such a misnomer. For one, it's not the first time IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND that a team lost a 3-0 lead.

Secondly, if you want to talk about playoff collapses, there is a distinction between losing series leads and collapsing in-game. What's harder to do-- lose four consecutive games to the same team (happens all the time in the playoffs in every sport) or lose a 2-run lead in the bottom of the 10th of a clinching WS game with 2-out and no one on? It's not even close in my opinion. We're talking about needing one pitch to win a World Series, as oppoed to winning one game.

Thirdly, you can't mask the embarrassment of losing a division up 7 games with 17 to play and not even making the playoffs as no big deal. You lost out to a not-so-great Phillies team by losing to cellar dwellers for 3 straight weeks in an unabashed freefall. It doesn't have the historical significance of an ALCS, but it doesn't make it any less of a collapse.

I'm not gonna get into a Sox/Yanks 3-0 debate here but... I've been saying it for years now... the Yanks didn't choke... the fucking Sox TOOK it from them. I'd be more proud of that if I was a Sox fan... but... I know New England fans better than that (not the amazing ones which are, w/o question, some of the best this country has to offer... shame they are few and far between). :/

Anywho... how amazing is it that we get to bask in NFC Championship glory and the possibility of a monumental upset for 2 FUCKING WEEKS! Omg... so nuts. haha... I'm still giddy.

I hate New England, but also the Giants for beating my Packers. I dont know who to root for. Im just gonna go for the commercials again this year.

There hasn't been a good super bowl commercial in like 5 years or so. Terry Tate, I think he was the last decent one.

i believe that brady publicist just saw how rivers played the heroic role sunday and said he should wear it around. I won't put anything pass these sneaky fuckers.

Oh, and apparently the whole LT thing is cleared up. When he said he was 95% healthy he was counting his knee as 5%.

No surgery for him. Rivers got a knee scope removing the ACL it looks like last week and will get reconstructive surgery in the offseason.

Rumor from espn radio yesterday mentioned that Norv turner set him out because he was thinking forward to the superbowl and LT was pissed. trade proposal or offseason hold off imminent if true. :/

sounds fake though

Wait, Norv sat him down to play the Super Bowl? I doubt that since he played Rivers, who was in much worse shape. I think LT had just never been hurt before and had no confidence in himself. He did look pretty stupid with his helmet on though.

i'll do anything for that gif. :lol

if LT didn't want to play, norv should've been the coach and threw his ass out there. I think its simply more to the story to be honest.

tmdorsey said:
If that's true that's got to be the dumbest thinking ever.
the conservative play calling on third downs was already suspect.

not to mention that perhaps norv wanted Mike turner to do the heavy duty like he did in the colts game. Perhaps he lost faith in LT. Either way, phillips and gates were men enough to say "fuck this shit" and risk severe career ending injuries, while LT looked like darth vader on the sidelines.

What did I say that you disagree with? Are you saying that the Pats are playing as well now as they did in the beginning of the season?

Yes they have won 18 games, but at the same time they were lucky to win at least 2 of those games (Philly and especially Baltimore) and if the Chargers had a real qb and coach then the Pats would have lost last week as well.

No one really cares how you win as long as you win, but I don't know how you or anyone can say the Pats have been dominant in a lot of their games outside of that Pittsburgh win.

who even mentioned those years? i'm talking about this year. :/

More AFC teams have a winning records than the NFC this year. Interleague is very close and this is one of the few years that has happened recently. You were also saying the AFC was weak when addressing what the Pats have done. Look at the quality wins they have. Nobody is even close. If NY didn't beat GB they would have beaten Indy, SD twice, the Redskins, Jags, Giants, Dallas, and Pitt and then even possibly GB in the SB. That's almost all the top tier teams in the NFL in one season but hate on that's all you have to cling to :D

Are you serious? You really don't think it matters how you play? So were the 49ers and Patriots equals in the beginning of the season when both were 2-0?
