EDIT: Well I've entered hyperspace and now it appears to have bugged out, I've been in the same hyperspace jump for 2 minutes straight now and it won't stop.

Someone already made it to earth. I guess the easiest way for early exploration is to sell your eagle for 50k, buy an Hauler + fuel scoop. He made it in 8 jumps with an Hauler, would probably take a day with a sidewinder hehe :)

Playing earlier, I was dropped in fairly close to Sol. I made all the necessary jumps, made it to Sol full of excitement that I could cruise around our local planetary bodies, then...


the server connection kicked me.

Super noob question. How in the world do you find the entrance to dock on these D12 looking motherfuckers. I''ve been flying circles around this thing for 20 minutes now and can't find the glowy blue entrance.

EDIT: Oh I see, the 3d hologram in the target window has arrows pointing towards it, neat.

Refer to the icon of the station on your HUD, it has arrows on it which should point you towards the entrance :)

Also:
The entrance (side) has blinking green lights and the opposite red.
The entrance is "always" (?) facing a planet, so exit supercruise from a decent angle.
 
Well couple of hours I played seem very very promising. But it's at the point where if I keep going I'm gonna get sucked in big time and I don't want to do that if it's going to be wiped on release.

Well, it's frustrating, because for me it's getting worse and worse for every version. And with 3.9 and gamma even old glitches have come back..: I used to lose the pos tracking in the first beta, then some versions in it was fixed, but now that problem is also back in addition to all the glitches introduced in the newer beta versions. It's almost a bit depressing..

So beautiful! Can I get there with an Eagle? Only 80 LY away :/

These screenshots make me always sad because they are so damn sharp. I've never played the game without the rift. It's quite good now btw. A lot of bugs are gone and the performance is amazing, now I don't have the shuttering in big space stations anymore.

They did say that in the past, but yesterday the executive producer said they will almost certainly wipe one last time on the morning of December 16th. So yes, one more wipe.
 
To be fair, they never definitively said no gamma wipe, but they were alluding to that for the last few months. Having been through so many wipes in alpha/beta, I always expected one at launch.
 
Huh, I actually made a decent amount of credits from exploration data. I ran a courier mission that was four jumps away and in two of the systems I ran the discovery scanner, picked up about 10 new bodies in total and made 10k when I handed it in.
 
Guys, I made it to Sol with my Eagle. I am in the space station of our moon right now :D

It was 80LY away and it took me about 15-20 jumps. Had to zigzag to get there.

I'm going to make some money there and later I'm going to find BD+28 4211. I want to see the black hole that is located there.

I cannot find an upgraded FSD or PowerPlant for my Eagle. I ain't going anywhere until I find one.
 
Been trying to get my EDtracker to work. Y axis is perfect, but X axis drifts slowly back to center immediately. It's been a very frustrating experience. I've read that it works better with Opentrack, but I am a complete idiot, and can't figure out how to even get the Opentrack exe.

Please tell us how it goes. I'm curious how much of this is local issues or something that affects everyone.

My three biggest issues:

The loss of pos tracking (and graphics grays out), (this is a weird glitch, and it's the only game/application where I have this problem)
The loss of focus in the station menu when looking at the left upper side area
The loss of focus when trying to read the upper part of both side menus (menus just disappears).
 
Neat flying! Were you actually trying to get away during the interdiction? It seems like at some point you almost submitted, then changed your mind again.

Also, small suggestion: Consider visitting a station and swapping the top laser down, next to the other one at the bottom. At least for me it seems to help having both lasers in a similar position.

Also, I just flew all the way down into empire territory and boy are my arms tired.
 
Yeah actually I did change my mind after 3-4 seconds. I wanted to face him :) Thanks for the tip with the laser. Didn't cross my mind.

I don't know how much time I should spend on the Gamma. I will loose everything on 16th December anyway. I might use the time to get better at dogfighting. It seems like nobody is using flightassist off-mode.
