The entire thing is inherently biased, but its still noteworthy and worth reading. The only way it would be non-biased is if all Twitter files were released to multiple newspapers and non-opinion journalists. Instead we have a billionaire and owner of the site personally selecting what he wants to reveal and what he doesn't want to reveal, and it reflects his own self interests. He even required that it be released on Twitter, literally making it a publicity stunt to benefit his site. Its also entirely focused on exposing negative liberal elements, but doesn't reveal any of the Trump requests to Twitter while they were in the white house. It also doesn't reveal anything since Elon has been in charge.

The only way you'll get a full picture is to read through articles explaining what is noteworthy about it. Then read through the stuff criticizing it and pointing out all the huge issues with how its been curated and released and what elements they decided to focus on. Then think about it on your own and decide which parts you find convincing from the two viewpoints.

See the key thing is not to treat any such revelations as fact on their face, but to treat them as allegations. You want to disprove or confirm, have at it. But to just handwave this off as a "nothingburger" is insane.

I'm not into Tesla, Space X or any of his stuff. Just kind of passively observed it from a distance. Really only been hearing more details in the last few months so take this all with a grain of salt or whatever.

From what I understand though, they don't have any real proprietary technology that other auto companies can't make better at this point, for cheaper. All the stuff about full self-driving is likely not even close to being done despite multiple claims that it's done. The semi is based on a ton of lies as well about it's ability to haul, it's ability to recharge and the cost of this compared to fuel. I think it was literally hyper-inflated based on nothing but hype and exaggerated promises. It was detached from reality a while ago, and valued something crazy like 10x the value of other car companies that all made way more cars than Tesla ever did. There's a reason that several famous investors were publicly shorting the company for years, including the main guy from The Big Short movie.

The bubble was literally his reputation and his customer allegiance, which was somewhat bipartisan, but mostly left leaning consumers in California and big cities. He fully burst the bubble on his myth of genius-level competence, and shit all over his customer base by being overtly political. His last refuge was fundraising, but he's kind of blown that up as well by lying to investors repeatedly about selling Tesla stock and other things, and blowing up his political connections to public funding.

He still has a last card to play though. Saudi, CCP funding instead, but the Chinese consumer auto market is tanking as well currently. I'm not an expert either, but I witnessed the engagements of engineers who do work on it, and read a few articles (). What I gathered was that basically no visual (like camera-based tech) or software solution combination has ever been acceptable enough in preventing things like self-driving cars running over child-sized objects, or becoming unacceptably erratic in dim lighting. There's also been some famous examples of the tech causing bad accidents.

I have to think that the largest barrier to widespread acceptance of self-driving cars will be anecdotal examples of horrible accidents. Even if the technology reaches a point where it's statistically much safer than human drivers (and it might already be there), the loss of control will be too much for many people. I'd compare it to plane travel in that respect.

When I get into the market for an EV I highly doubt I’d look at Teslas. I’ve seen too many anecdotes about their build quality, even if I appreciate the strides they’ve made in pushing the EV and self-driving markets forward. I’d much rather stick to Toyota, which isn’t at the bleeding edge of tech ever but basically revolutionized manufacturing quality control and culture and sticks to tried and true tech until the new stuff meets their standards.

Second, Twitter and other large tech companies were not built by, and certainly not run by, "blue haired college students" but rather highly educated engineers and other professionals of all kinds, all ages, from all prior experiences. This is obvious to anyone who gives the matter thought, or bothered to look into it. Theres so little specifics provided in these blurbs that they are almost scrutiny proof which I imagine is by design.

Sure it SAYS "98% went to dems on 3 specific years" but we don't know the pool of users, how often donations were made, if these were several of the same people, what dems got votes, what happened other relevant years etc. Theres nothing to extrapolate from this because its as ideologically slanted as they are claiming twitter was, and incredibly vague.

These "Twitter Files" show that they removed content by requests from all kinds of parties - government and private. Again, just read them. It's only like 20 - 30 minutes worth of reading material.

Because Tesla isn't taking it upon themselves to decide what truth is, and censoring anyone who disagrees. I don't care who believes what if they're not trying to censor people because of it.

Well, and I am not trying to be flippant, but they certainly are now, via the man that owns them and Twitter. Just keep up with the deluge of embarrassing news and tweets.

Also, do you have an example of how they were attempting to bend the truth before? Blocking things like bigotry or revenge porn or calls to / advocation of violence isn't trying to "change truth" or whatever. It was an attempt to be responsible as a social media platform. Look at them now. The new owner is literally tweeting conspiracy theory stuff and bigotry.

It's more that those buyers in the general population who Musk has been railing against in his hero fantasy to save the world from committing suicide due to bad entertainment that don't want to financially support him when there are other options for electric cars as the tech develops. Ya im pretty sure teslas name and reputation was always far more valuable than the actual car specs because a lot of people actually thought this guy was some futurist who would innovate the future far more than he actually can or will do.

Couples this with teslas already high prices, an economy in tatters right now meaning less spending money for everyone, and Elon destroying his own public image makes it easy to see why this is happening.

I dont see teslas going anywhere but the veneer of pristine top of the line leadership at the helm is gone for good.

The fact that TSLA stock have dropped so much and they are seemingly having trouble selling Teslas, makes you wonder, were all these people buying Teslas buying it just because they were a fan of Musk's "progressive" values and a form of virtue signaling, rather than due to them being good cars?

It was prestige... And one of the first line of premier EV mass produced in America. Had nothing to do with ideology.
