Can't get any worse :pie_roffles:
You joke but you know that's not true. If he actually implements what he has said then it going get MUCH worse. Especially if he allows the Russian propaganda machine to start pumping again. Same goes for the political misinformation that was rampant after the last presidential election and the attempted insurrection at the Capitol.

And that's not mentioning the fact that he might losses the restrictions on hate speech. If he does that then Twitter will see a mass exodus of companies and advertisers because they won't want to be associated with that kind of content.

Im reading his own words.

By his own definition of what "free speech" is it would relax the restrictions and sanctions put in place by Twitter against Russian State media.

Now he may make an exception given the genocide in Ukraine, but by his own words that's what would happen.

Did you watch his TED talk? His words were to have oversight for actions, and to go after all of the bots and make it known they are bots.

Oh, the horror!

And I know you like to walk this walk, and ignore that political misinformation is in all directions. Always has been and will always continue to be.

One word... Laptop.

He’s vocal about the bot swarms being a problem. Fixing that would cut down on the Russian and CCP influence to a far greater degree than silencing some obvious propagandists.

I'm talking about the actual propaganda that was coming out of Russian media when the war in Ukraine started. Things like Russia Today was kicked off the air and Russian State media sources were sanctioned on Twitter because they were spreading literal lies regarding what was going on in Ukraine.

So not a "Boogeyman".

They could but how many twidiots will want to lose their sub counts and sponsors?

It'll have to be a group effort jumping off the ship. Corporations, media companies and celebs following along would help. They can create their own circlejerk economy at the new site even if it has less numbers to start with.

Actually that’s what this will fix. Leftist Twitter has mixed basic debating with true hate speech. For example someone saying “biological males cannot be biological women” is not hate speech, but right now it is on Twitter.

That I know. And I will be infinitely grateful for that. No more "Mike37618964627392836" telling me his hot take of why Putin is just misunderstood.

I'm talking specifically about stuff like Russia Today or other outlets going full ham on straight up lies regarding things that actually matter again like it was before Twitter introduced more strict guidelines on misinformation. That kind of thing coming back isn't good for anyone. Especially the company itself.

He’s vocal that being able to say offensive things to one another is a good sign of free speech. You can see how that can be a problem if allowed to be taken to a certain level l, because ultimately no big company lives by that principal anyway.

I am curious how they can fix bot swarms but also make the algorithm public. I think each of those sounds like a good idea to make the service better but can you do them both simultaneously? I don't really know much about this stuff but wouldn't one end up impeding the other? If you make the workings of the algorithm public then wouldn't people just be able to create better bot swarms to take advantage of that?

you couldn't have made a better case in favour of the Musk twitter buyout if you tried

😂 this and the Disney thing says it all. It’s the major hypocrisy that’s so funny. Elon is not a conservative and conservatives aren’t celebrating because they think Twitter will be right leaning .. they are celebrating because it may actually finally be EQUAL.

Russia can't even take over one fucking city in Ukraine and liberals like you have the delusion that they have some fierce, well funded propaganda network that out-competes those of Western powers by orders of magnitude. There's no logic with people like you.

They are contradictory forces to an extent, but figure that 1,000 top engineers are put on it. It could be public but very difficult to outmaneuver.

How bad? You know it’s going to be the exact same but without the extreme partisan propaganda push from Twitter itself.
They still have all the same moderation employees and it will take time and be hard to purge employees that don't have extreme bias against certain points of view.
