English Training DS

So I played a bit yesterday and was really impressed! It has almost the exact same menu layout as the other "Training" games so its easy to get into right away.

I played a game where you had to write words as they were spoken to keep a pack of mice away from the cheese. I really like the way it recognizes letters and how they fade away quickly. It is really easy to write fast this way.

I didnt have much time to mess around with it but it seems like an interesting title, and Im picking it up next week.

Please release Japanese training in the UK. Thanks.

edit - your English needs improving? o_0 or do you just buy everything?

Havent bought it yet. One of my students brought it to class, she is a straight up game Otaku. Brings her PSP/DS and shit to class all the time. We used to make fun of her, but she brought me some Japanese porno mags/manga so we are cool now...

Kanji training on the DS would be all sorts of awesome. Is there such a thing?

sounds well put together. nintendo's building up an impressive range of fun education-like games on ds.

so the text recognition is good? had anything it hasn't recognised or mistaken for another letter?

eh... ?

I have a feeling that some of the brain training games involve Kanji, but I doubt any will be included in the localized version...

She didnt "have" to bring porn, she just happened to bring me a pile of magazine and comics that her husband was finished with.

Yes, you're correct, in Otona2 there are 2 games about kanji, and recognization is very good (even if not perfect)

that would be all kind of perfect for my work.

no longer would people come in asking to get some kanji tattooed on thier ass and me not know for sure what the hell it means. lol

Sounds interesting. I have no interest in the english version unless they release other languages. Does anyone have screenshots? This isn't a moetan game for DS is it?

I want to know about these.

Also I really want a kanji training program/dictionary for the DS. I would pay a lot for it.

edit: YesAsia has the PS2 The Kanji Quiz for $21.90 with like $3 shipping. I am seriously considering buying it unless someone has negative impressions.

bump for more info-begging.

Have any gaffers 'played' either of those Kanji Quiz 'games'? (OMG NONGAMES ON SONY SYSTEMS KANJITON)

Are they usual worthless D3 stuff or is there any edutainment merit?

I own the Simple 1500 version. I think if you want to use this to study kanji, you're going to be disappointed. It's pretty much only useful for testing your existing knowledge, and won't teach you anything new.

Porno in Japan is not as big a deal as most of you would think. It is pretty much ubiquitous at this point, nobody gives it a second thought.

I played "talkman" on the PSP also, but it gave me a lower score on speaking than the japanese woman who owned it so...Im not so sure about how good the voice recognition is.
When she said the phrase "its on me" (the one she was praticing on Talkman) I didnt even understand her until I saw it spelled out in game.

Im ordering English Training tomorrow and should have it by next week I will post more then.
