Well, I suck at this game, but I'm getting better. :D

Best gun I found so far was the Pitchfork. A very simple gun. Loads of ammo and sets everything on fire.

I feel like I'm missing something. Is there any sort of lasting progress in this? I get this currency (?) after beating a boss, but I can't seem to spend it anywhere, as I would in Necro-Dancer, for example.

You need to rescue NPCs first, then shops and other stuff in the hub world open up

early on you rescue a prisoner and you get an extra room that is basically a weapon museum

there, you use that currency to buy guns, which adds them to the gun pool, aka the possibility of you getting it in dungeon within a chest

Oh man, this game is awesome. Definitely not regretting my purchase. So far not being able to get past the third floor,
Cannonbalrog
just straight up wrecks me every time, gonna take some time to learn how to dodge his stuff.

How could you hate Nuclear Throne?
I honestly don't know. I literally played and liked every rogue-lite game that came out, it's just NT that I can't stand. Everything about it seems like something I should like, but all it does is fill me with irritation. Good thing for me Gungeon doesn't feel like NT at all really, I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I hate Nuclear Throne as well.

Locked to 30fps, 4:3, I got input lag in the menus and surround sound is fucked, as in most sounds came out of my back speakers instead of my fronts.

Altogether disappointing.

This is great but man, I really suck at it. I can barely get past the first dungeon on most tries
Same here man. I put four hours into it and haven't got far.

It's all good though. It's a game I can replay over and over and not get bored. All dem guns!

Haha i'm fucking done. The gun i just found had me in tears, it's a reference to
aqua teen hunger force. It's called the quad laser. Yes, the bullet travels exactly how slow you're expecting

I haven't seen anyone else mention the hitch when you kill something. Does this happen to everyone or just me. I'm starting to get paranoid now. Wish I would have waited and bought on PC if it's a PS4 issue.

The thing that bugs me is it doesn't do it on every enemy. It happens mainly on the bullet shaped normal guys. There's a sound when you deliver the killing blow and then a freeze frame as someone put it in this thread. If you're rolling when you get the killing blow it's very noticeable.

If you're not noticing it try turning screen shake all the way down as well. It's much easier to notice. Easy to notice with it on as well though.

Hmm, are you sure that's not just a brief amount of hitstun to emphasize the kill? I'm pretty sure my game on PC does it too, but it's an intended behavior.

Is there any kind of persistent progression outside of the cycle of trying, dying, and resetting? So far, all I've seen is stuff showing up at the breach.

so where are the
vampire lady
and the
bullet old man
after you rescue them? cant find them in the hub, top right door still blocked, and the bottom right door is the
elevator guy
which is also still blocked

You unlock weapons (that you can find in the dungeon), shortcuts, and NPCs/shops in the hub area. However, the start of each run you start with the same items and stats.

The
vampire lady
will show up in the dungeon at random as a special shop

First impressions: I'm not so sure about the default bindings on a controller. Thankfully, it's fully remappable!

Looks great otherwise.

So the Steam controller doesn't seem to work very well with this game, unless I'm missing something about the setup. Aiming is impossible

How do you find the secret rooms? In the tutorial, there was one behind a crack on the wall, but I haven't been able to find other cracks in the main game. I have found some secret rooms accidentally, but I'm almost sure there weren't any cracks on the walls they were behind.

I think you have to use Blanks.

I'm usually not into roguelikes or bullet hell games, but everything I've watched or read about this game just sounds awesome. I think I'm gonna pick it up on PS4.

Was hesitant, but glad I pulled the trigger.

This game takes the best of Isaac and NT and adds a greater sense of progression.. Most importantly the game is a ton of fun to play.. I like the fact that it doesn't go overboard with the roguelike elements .
