Wario > Mario
Now with numbers!

mini games > minigames?

so Mario Party 6's numbers are finally up and running? Nintendo must have been worried that first day/week.

and Capcom's up to EXE5 now? Milk kings.

"I ain't buyin somethin called 'Snake Eater.' Sounds queer."

Wow, aside from a Pachislot game this is proof why the Japanese game buying public is so much better than the American one :P

PS2: 166k
DS: 143k
GBASP: 67k
GC: 59k
PSP: 47k
GBA: 2.6k
PSOne: 1.8k
Xbox: 1.6k

PSP numbers are a tad low. They still having problems getting product out? I'm going to assume that any supply = sold.

DS = oh gawd. Monster. DS + GBASP = Oh GAWD![/B

5 months and they would combined have sold a million.

GC got a healthy xmas boost too.

PSP was released on 12/12, so that was the rest of the launch week shipment. So that's about 210k; presumably everything that was shipped.

I sure hope EXE5 has some nice legs and hit 300-400k before EXE5 v1.0a comes.
And I would love to see some info on EXE for DS :/

They were also shipping an additional 100k for every week for the rest of the month, so by these numbers, the number supplied to retailers should be about 300k.

Where did those non-enterbrain #'s come from?

But if you have been reading the official PSP thread it looks like the 2nd shipment hasn't made it out yet. :P

MGS3 overachieving in Japan and underachieving in NA. Although I do feel MGS3 is due for a big boost in sales in December for NA! :D

From the same source as CVX is using DS 220K, PS2 124K, GBA 88K, PSP 81K, GC 54K.

So far we have either:

PS2: 166k
DS: 143k
GBASP: 67k
GC: 59k
PSP: 47k
GBA: 2.6k
PSOne: 1.8k
Xbox: 1.6k

or

DS 220K
PS2 124K
GBA 88K
PSP 81K
GC 54K

Can anyone clear this up?

Interesting.

In Japan it looks like the DS is eating into GBA SP sales, while in the US, GBA SP hasn't slowed down.

Maybe it's kind of a similar situation to the PSOne and the PS2, here in the US the PSOne still sold for a while even with the PS2 around, but in Japan, everyone just bought a PS2.

The source (linked to at game-science.com) is:

in Japanese but it doesn't matter, scroll down until you see the list of platforms PS2 12.4, GC 5.4, GBASP 8.8, PSP 8.1, DS 22. Now which does this list look most like. :)

I would call it more of a nibble if the second numbers are to believed...and it's still not much of a drop even with the first.

Usually towards the end of the year with the Japanese gift giving season, GBA SP numbers are around 100k+ though or roughly equal to what the PS2 is selling.

And still being at 70% at that with two new handheld systems releasing is pretty impressive, and if it's 80% that's even better. Talk to me when it drops to 20 or 30.

You go MGS3! Does this mean MGS4 will come out in Japan first? Because it's selling more over there?

Sell more in US overal. oops

Also, games usally sells 60-70% of its power in the first week, usally, for big games in Japan.

Looks like a nice holiday season all around in Japan though.

Sony, Nintendo, Konami, Square-Enix, Namco, etc. have to be all pretty satisfied with those kinds of numbers.

Or maybe seeing monthly numbers combining before and after launch, compared to seeing weekly data covering a broader time period is hard to compare?

Anyone have GBA SP's numbers from last year at this point (weekly?).

Because generally IIRC GBA usually is doing 100-150k a week as the year end shopping rush ramps up in Japan (generally 1:1 with the PS2 if not better).
