Eurogamer: GTA V coming to PC early 2014

I'd double dip for sure and jump to nextgen whenever the new game comes out. Wish by some grace of god they were cross-compatible with current gen. Obviously they wont be, but I know most of my friends wouldn't jump to the nextgen and buy this.

This is nice, but my friend convinced me to get it for 360. So I dunno if I will want this anymore. Maybe when it's cheaper or bundled with some delicious extra content.

Early 2014 alone is looking so strong on the PC side of things.

GTAV, Titanfall, Dark Souls II, and I'm hoping for Destiny as well.

I have feeling that Bungie doesn't want to make PC version because they are forgot how to make good PC controls for FPS.

I'd love for a next gen version as well. I wouldn't think twice about double dipping. I'd get the PC version but I'm sure the next gen consoles are going to be better than my rig right now unless I upgraded by video card. I think I'd rather wait another year or two to do that anyway.

Maybe I should try to build my new/first rig so that it can play GTA V almost at max. Yup, could end up insanely expensive...

Entirely not surprised. What's the bet they'll wait till the PC version is out and then announce the next gen consoles versions? Dat triple dipping.

Shut up and port it to next gen already.

Cool. Will double dip. Hopefully personal music in Radio stations is also supported as always.

Aside from obvious PC benefits I am mostly happy I will be able to take proper screenshots without the crappy in game camera resolution or waiting for Rockstar Social club to get its shit together. :P

Even though I got spoiled of a
character death
, I will purchase!!

If it makes you feel better, thats not really much of a spoiler. There is more to it than that.

Here are the relevant counter arguments.

  • Bungie used to make games with M/KB before Microsoft exclusivity.
  • Activision has invested large amounts of money into the property, they are going to want to recoup that investment.
  • Similarly, the cost of hiring employees with experience in PC ports would be trivial.

Can't wait to see what modders do. Wish my PC could handle it.

I also remember them saying the game has the capability for 32 players but consoles would struggle with it.

Bungie actually did it first with free look mouse controlls in Marathon...

I'm not sure why people are so worried about system requirements. To be sure, when GTA IV came out in 2008, it ran like shit on my E8400 and 8800GT.

GTA V, of course, was designed to run on the same consoles as GTA IV (and does so better in any event), but meanwhile, most PC guys have upgraded to i5s and GF500/600 (or AMD equivalent) and beyond.

The real challenge will be 4K with ENBs.

I hope the PC version has actual foliage/ better foliage.

Even on these consoles it looks very good to me but the foliage is just bad ( some parts are ok I guess)

I'll get it, as long as it's not particularly gimped as far as a port, and features visual improvements over the console version.

It'd be nice if they added the Special Edition content to the base game. Seems pretty weird to not have stuff with stunt planes unless you paid $80 for a game.

Speaking of which, if I were to get GTA IV, what good mods are there to update the game? GTA IV has some awful fucking dithering.

Early 2014 on PC and late 2014 on next gen consoles after the install base grows a little.. that's what I see happening. Probably won't see the next gen version until E3.
