I just heard the first track on Disc 1. The Full version on The song from that 6 minute clip posted in the first page. Holy fuckin balls is right O___O

yea its arranged version of theme from Nadia which I loved.

They used 2 tracks I loved the most in Nadia in Q, so its a good thing.

I listed to the first couple of tracks fantastic. I don't mind spoilers because by the time I get a chance to watch it on blue-ray in the States it will probably be 2014 unfortunately.

We should get a decent english sub in about 6 months.

Doesn't really matter if there's no movie to watch it with. I mean 2.22 took like a year and half to come out after 2.0 theatrical release, and I wouldn't want to watch a camrip of this.

^ Maybe they don't know how to properly handle distribution.

2.22's home release was delayed in Japan as well. It debuted June 27, 2009 and released May 26, 2010. (Then finally in April 5, 2011 in the US.) I hope they hurry their asses with this one.

I'm not sure how licensing is done, but it seems to take time also. I hope Funimation already has the rights for 3 (and 4). I wonder what difference between localizing games and movies is.

Heh, for some reason I thought it took longer. Probably because the wait was excruxiating.

But yeah, it usually doesn't take a full year for other anime movies... I remember some really quick releases like Gundam 00 : mid-september in theaters, late december on blu-ray. Obviously won't happen here since there's so much money to be made still.

I doubt Funimation has a license for 3.0 and Final already. It took Funimation over two years to license and release 1.01 and 1.11 because Khara kept holding out for a larger company, like Sony or Warner Bros., to license it. They finally settled for Funimation. They got 2.22 out faster, but I'm sure they were still the last choice and Khara probably still held out for a while and they probably will for 3.0 and Final, too.

That's because this is Evangelion! They know that no matter how long they wait, people will still buy the video release. The longer they take to release it, the more people want it and then it'll sell more copies.

Good points. We should all refrain from throwing (enough) money at Anno.

I hope Funi gets them all, otherwise we'll have another shitty situation like with D&R and EoE, in which Manga got the rights to the films while ADV the series; then when they got re-released, ADV couldn't get the films so the remastered versions stayed in Japan. I want to get the complete set in a box, so I hope they'll get the license.

RAGE.

I hope when they re-release the series in HD, that Funi can pry Manga's hand.

It seems like a far more consistent soundtrack stylistically compared to 1.0 and 2.0.

(music spoilers)

Aside from some key themes it sounds like Sagisu has ditched a lot of the show's music, which have a special place in my heart but sometimes felt out of place in the new movies. Still a little too much WAH WAH WOOOOOOO guitar wankery for my taste in spots, but otherwise it's pretty great. Good piano stuff too.

I dunno if anything will ever top EoE's soundtrack for me (and certainly not something this bombastic) but this soundtrack seems super cool.

bonus: a great rendition of the finale of Ode to Joy.

I just heard some of these tracks. Yeah, guitars . . . Why. This isn't some bad JRPG, is it? I know there were guitars in the original series, but not like that.

Well, at least it's only a few songs.

Re: licensing and delays, I think Khara also required that there be a theatrical release of the Rebuild movies, which further pushed back a home release. Many strings come with the Evangelion license.

The Eva license is also really expensive.

But that's what makes them awesome.

Actually it's slightly nauseating. And now I know why this anime was such a mindfuck from the beginning to the mindfucking end. Body horror and mindfuckery. Mainly it was this phrase that got me, "inhabited by the soul of his mother".

Blu-ray release confirmed for 4/24. Sooner than I thought! http://eva3.0.b-ch.com/blog/3_0/

Nice, Evangelion 2.22 took about half a year between Japanese home release and German home release, so I'm hopeful that I'll be able to pick up the Blu-ray this year. :)

Pretty early compared to the other ones, and still it's billed as being "Evangelion 3.33". Huh. Not sure what to expect.
(probably not a miraculous fix that turns the whole movie around and suddenly makes it good though)

We are going to see Anno's ultimate troll: Evengelion 3.33 will be the movie that was teased at the end of the second movie. :p

Edit: Eh, I spoiler this just in case. I don't know if that's considered common knowledge at this point or not. It's just about the basic premise of the movie though...

Who said there won't be anything new?
Evangelion 3.33's running time is stated to be 105 minutes, and according to Wikipedia, Evangelion 3.0 was 95 minutes long, so perhaps there's something new to look forward to?

EDIT: The script is labelled "3.33 ver.", so it does look like there will be some differences.

I got excited for a moment, then realized that this is for the Japanese version.

So, we probably won't see a 3.33 blu-ray release in North America for a while. :(

Damn it, Kagari. Way to get my hopes up for a moment.

HK release of 2.22 had subs. I'd definitely pick it up and double dip later
