Even Bendis is Confused By Peter's Best Friend in Spider-Man: Homecoming

"Evil Batman" is an easy sell as long as you frame Bruce in there too. I'm not asking for a solo Valley movie here or Knightfall exactly lol, but I get your point. I just wanted to take it somewhere else.

To be honest, I'm DTF with the DCEU. At this point I just hope they become the studio of weird shit.

The best thing they could do is let some some creativity flow.

You're Lord and Miller. Execs are begging you to work on their properties.

To be fair, I'm way more interested in watching the Miles animated movie than a Flash movie, but I still see being able to work on that big a name a 'bigger deal'. You're right though, they can probably pick anything they want and get it.

Peter Parker is one of the most recognizable characters in all of comics. No chance they would just jump into Miles Morales as the first MCU version of Spiderman and bypass the buckets of cash that Parker gains them instantly.

Do we even know that Sony would have been interested in the Marvel deal if they were going to use Miles instead?

The MCU is hodge-podge of multiple storylines and character incarnations, after the weird Crimson Dynamo/Whiplash mix we saw in IM2, folks really shouldn't be surprised.

It's likely Sony will crash this franchise again and again, so by the time Miles and friends get a proper shot, this specific reboot and it's characters may only be remembered Slayven.

So Miles will fight Smuggler in his movie?

Since the first news of it, I came to terms with them having a Ganke because I don't feel like a live action Miles movie is coming soon. BUT, when he does get a movie, Ganke needs to be there.

That's the thing though, isn't it? If they do a Miles film in high school and put a Ganke in it, people will dismiss it as being the same as the first film. With everything they borrowed to make this film, they can't use it to make another film, as it won't look fresh any more.

The extended school cast feels incredibly forced and without even a hint of nuance. Reeks of Sony moreso than Marvel.

Promo shots like this are kinda fitting when you consider Spider-Man sports Pepsi colours.

That looks like the Paco kid from Fuller House on the right. I don't think it's him, though

Edit: OH! It's the kid from Dope!

Would you really want to have anything to do with the DCMU right now?

I'd say it depends on your passion for the character. If I was a director or writer, no matter how famous I am, I would love to work on a Nightwing movie or a Spiderman movie. I love both characters.

And plus, since the universe is already a flop, even if you mess up the fault would fall more on DC execs haha.

I enjoyed those movies as well, That restores some confidence in it being good. They must believe in the project to leave it for an animated Miles movie. Who's writing Flash now?

I mean, it's turning down a pretty iconic super hero.

I'm not sure if Flash has a writer atm. But yea, Lord and Miller have been on fire. The Miles movie will def. be solid.

I will say that it makes sense to have a diverse cast, but it feels like they just slapped Spider characters onto people that don't look like they could possibly have a similar role, or the names are just nonsensical. The not Ganke should just be Ganke, because Ned Leeds is a stupid ass name for an Asian teenager in 2017, and Ned Leeds is a completely different character to whatever Ganke is.

This Flash thompson in this seems to have basically no relation to Flash from the comic books. Not because he is Indian, but you're telling me that dude, with that hair, and that pudgy look, is supposed to be Peters bully at the school? Because he looks like he is in the chess club with him.

And they have changed his character apparently from being an actual bully to like... making sick burns about Peters shoes. Which doesn't really have the same tension as the physical violence, because part of the game is that Peter could whip the shit out of Flash but he pretends to be weak. That' dramatic irony is lost if Flash is just a rich smug asshole with a boy George haircut and a vest.

Honestly though, from what I'v read and heard, physical direct bullying in non-terrible public schools is something that doesn't really exist. It's far more effective to attack people via social media and the like. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I'm betting that a smarmy jackass making douchy social media posts about what clothes you wear appeals far more to teens in 2017 than a guy stuffing you in a locker.

Why couldn't this movie be about Miles in the first place?

Did you perhaps notice that people age in real time while comic book characters generally don't? Marvel likes to lock in their actors for 6+ films.

By Spider Man Homecoming 2 or 3 this Spider Man will have aged up to the point where it no longer resembles comic miles at all.

It would be parker in every way, shape, and form- using parker's storylines and Parker's rogues. Graduated from high school, done with college, working as an adult in the real world while juggling bills and a vigilante career. you may like Miles but that isn't him at all. It's Parker.

Miles is an attempt by Marvel to keep telling high school era spiderman stories without de-aging or rebooting peter parker. This is where they're going to keep that character and it will be a long time before you see Miles outside of a school environment. it works for animated films because aging doesn't come into play there, so that's the only place you're going to see miles, unless they do a live action TV series that does a whole lot of episodes in a short period of time.

I would have just said because Miles is boring. He just happens to have a solid supporting cast
