So Paul McCartney just reposted my oil painting of him on Facebook & Instagram, i'm totally obsessed with The Beatles so this has obviously blown me away. Got me thinking, have you ever been recognized by someone famous for something you've done or created?

The writer of a young adult series i love knows i was one of the first fan blogs for her series and checks on the blog from time to time. We have also spoken before :D

If anyone is interested its marissa meyer (not to be confused with the yahoo ceo) and she wrote the lunar chronicles.

EDIT: I forgot to mention her publisher also sent me a hoodie of the series.

When Kanye West rapped, "When I park my Range Rover. Slightly scratched your Corolla. OK, I smashed your Corolla.", he was talking about me! Felt pretty weird but awesome at the same time. Of course, it sucks that he smashed my Corolla with his Range Rover...

Anyway. Good job, OP. That's very cool. You could've just made a "Paul McCartney recognized my art!" thread instead of a "Ever been recognized by someone famous?" thread tho ;)

I got a lot of props from Classified, the guys from Zion I and O'shea Jackson Jr after having a cypher on three separate occasions.

Edit: That painting is amazing.

Uhh...no. Closest I have come is someone prominent from Major League Gaming recognized me at an event as some dude with a great Rifle in the video game Shadowrun (2007.) I enjoyed the flattery, since it is my most played, and favorite game, but OP is on a whole nother' level. A great painting, recognized by one of the greatest musicians of all time? Yea, that is something to be proud of.

Ashton Kutcher replied to a twitt i did once, he said something about his DJI Phanton diving into a lake, i commented on it and he replied back.

Pretty lame huh

I collect indie kaiju toys and I was interviewed on TV in Tokyo, ended up with a little segment on prime time TV about my collecting and painting toys. They asked me what my favorite was and I mentioned a really rare toy that I haven't been able to find since the odds of being able to buy one when they go on sale are about 1/200. The guy who makes those super rare toys emailed me, said thanks for mentioning his toy, and then sent me a gift package including one of his toys and a bunch of rare swag. And then the next time he put up a toy for sale he made sure I was a winner and got to buy one <3

Michael Mann shook my hand and said "thank you, good work" when I worked on the Miami Vice set. talked a bit too

as a film student at the time that was pretty big

I once sent an email to Robin Walker and got a reply back during the Engineer update in TF2.

Also,

My friends and I prank called somebody because they won a contest fourteen years ago and his name was used as one of the optional bosses in a popular game we really like. We convinced him that we were from the company who made the game and that we wanted to re use his name for the third game that's finally coming out. He actually believed us and gave us his permission. His name is pretty obscure so all we had to do was google it and we found his phone number. Keeping it vague cuz I want him to be optimistic.

Hahah, this is true. :)

A couple more from me. Dan Bilzerian liked by painting of him on Instagram.

Ex-NBA player Larry Sanders reposted my painting of him.

Ricky Gervais liked my painting of him in a comment I made.

Seth Killian said he might have heard of me but I think he was being polite and he's not really famous so no.

So you're a painter.

Dennis Miller thanked me for showing him where the cold Gatorade was in a supermarket once. I think he was hungover.

Suda 51 recognizes me and seems excited to see me when ever I see him at events. He always comes to say hi, it's crazy. He likes my girlfriends art too and put some of her stickers on his 3ds.

Ken Levine retweeted my attempt at Bioshock humor, and sighed as well lol. I don't know if he thought it was funny,or he hated it, but he still responded so there's that.

i have nothing else to add except that is fucking cool. :D

Evilore replied to a post I made once

Same. So did Orson Scott Card (don't hate me) and Neil Gaiman once sent me a postcard reply to a question I asked him about one of his comics. Tad Williams wrote me a letter too. 😄

I asked a question once on Boss Key Fridays on their Live Twitch stream and my name was said right next to Cliffy B. That was awesome! His streams are real great. You learn a lot from their team.

David Jaffe was nice when I sent him a pic of my God of War III poster on Twitter. He said it was nice! I had a different name back then.

I sent an e-mail to Caroline Ray and she responded. No, not the celebrity witch either.

I got to chat with Adam Sessler when he had his live show on Rev3. It was the second show I recall. We chatted about Kojima and his masked developer he was hiding behind. I also got to send Kevin Pereira an e-mail. He gave me some music recommendations, which was nice.

Seth Killian was real nice and recommended me FATE on PSP many years ago. He's even on my old accounts friend list. He's a very nice guy.

I had my name called out by Justin Wong on his channel. I am not an amazing SF player, but I spent some dough and had him give me a lesson. He's beyond amazing at his game.

I've donated to people on Twitch and they've said my name, but that's just because it's money. Nothing to really take serious. It's just supporting their cause.

I get to chat with you guys when I can! That's a celebrity!
