Ever been recognized by someone famous?

Nah, but Robert Rodriguez and the Waitress from It's Always Sunny have answered my questions on Reddit AMAs.

After a mention of Excitebike on the Professor Blastoff podcast where most the cast had no idea what it was, I sent them a tweet about it which they read on the next show. I used to do graphic design freelance when I was younger, and I got to do shirts for two of my favorite bands, Between the Buried and Me and This Is Hell. That was exciting.

Dave Mustaine got angry and snapped at me on 2 separate occasions for my posts on the Megadeth forums. I hardly ever post/posted there so that was a rather unlikely thing to happen.

Geoff Keighley responded to my AMA too. He was super nice. I even got an answer about the VGAs last year on his Twitch stream. He answered everyone's questions.

Tina Amini answered a question I sent her. That was nice of her and Jason Schreier responded to my post once. That was awesome.

No, I've done nothing of note and have not had any memorable run-ins. Like with ridiculously hot girls, I get nervous around people with any sort of celebrity.

Lauren Tom, Grey Delisle, and Ernie Hudson and other notable voice over artists all call on me when I raise my hand answering multiple questions in smaller Q&A panels. Like a lot. But I also felt bad for them because all the questions other people were fielding were embarrassing and you can feel the social awkwardness of the questioner. Like, "Mr. Hudson, in that one scene in Ghostbusters 2, you were wearing boots during the day. But two scenes later, you come out wearing the same clothes but with Converses. Explain that!" Shit like that. :cringes:

With Lauren Tom near the end, she decided to completely block out all the weirdos and just make eye contact and talk directly to me the last 10 minutes because I was apparently the only one in the room who knew and asked about her time on Friends and The Joy Luck Club.

Me and Lupe fiasco had a argument on instagram once when he tried to throw some shade on kanye by saying he was on a song named all day first.. dude deleted the post lol

Thread title confused me. I thought it was some sort of mind blowing situation where a famous person simply saw a regular person, but knew who they were and came up to them. Like the reverse of recognizing a famous person sitting near you in a theatre and you go up and tell them how you love their movies.
The Cruise missile is an acquaintance.
I envy you.

I have a few, I Talked to Shaq for about 5 minutes outside of a Amscot once, I also met T.I coming out of the elevator while i was at Atlantic Records for a meeting, met Rick Ross an Dj Khaled at a Club, chilled with Caskey while he was at the Studio recording his last Mixtape, so yea a few people :D

One time on Twitter, I tweeted to a streaming website talking about the movie Moon that Moon was an excellent movie and I had it too on Blu-Ray, then Duncan Jones replied to me saying something like: Thanks! And it's a great gift for Christmas!! ;)

I was like, Wait, what?

I'm acquaintances with a few Youtubers, and I modded for two semi famous Twitch channels if that counts.

Edit: Oh, and I shook hands with Troy Baker.

OP that is awesome and I am a huge Beatles fan but there is one thing I want to bring up. I don't think Paul actually runs his own Twitter account unfortunately.

That's how I read it (and answered it) as well. D'oh

A Korean actress really want to play pool with me in a bar, we played a couple games and she really want to meet up with me so wrote her email on a napkin, which I blew my nose on and lost.

Oh, yeah. Also had email communication with Orson Scott Card, the kicking guy from Jackie Chan's Who Am I, and the guy who created Sliders.

Rubbing elbows with royalty, folks.

I thought you meant recognised as in recognised walking down the street or something. Acknowledged might be a better word for what you mean

I made a fat joke about Mistajam (if you don't who that is, he's fat) recently and he replied with his own self deprecating fat joke. Not that famous, and his joke was weak, but it is what it is.

Only game industry people. I guess the most popular here would be Kamiya, but then again we work together in the same project so it kinda makes sense... Otherwise, some people from Microsoft also recognized my work and also the president on the company where I was working before (CyberConnect2).

Uh... that's about it, I think :P

I saw Guy Fieri driving next to me one day and he throw up the peace sign at me.

We're kinda like best friends.

Maybe Americans don't really know comedians/ djs Adam and Joe (the latter is Joe Cornish, who directed Attack the Block) but they named one of their BBC podcasts after me cos I sent in some bad jokes and they liked my username.

Milla Jovovich, David Faustino , Ancilla Tilia (former dutch model now turned activist), Lauren Bleszinski (wife of cliffy b), Casper van Dien are following me on twitter that is a very awesome feeling. I even got invited to David Faustino for his radio show but i live 5000km away so that was a bummer since Ed O'neil was also on that show. Duncan Jones tweeted a few times with me. I also got retweeted by them a bunch of times you know that is to me the closest i could get to a famous person it's still pretty cool.

I met Greg Miller at NYCC in 2011 and he remembered me every year since because I wore a superboy shirt that day. He was even a guest on my podcast.

He's a celebrity to me, dammit.

I came semi-close to working on a project with feminists and published authors Jaclyn Friedman and Jessica Valenti once. We follow each other on twitter and I am Facebook friends with Friedman.

Jenn Frank and I follow each other on twitter as well.

When I was about 15 I saw Bret Hart a a CHL hockey game and he came down from his booth to chat with me for like must have been 10 minutes. It was amazing.

Not to shit on your parade, but "Paul" in this case was probably a faceless social media team.

Sweet painting
He'd have a team running it guaranteed, i'd just like to think he'd choose the artwork himself, or give it his nod of approval before it's posted.

Josh Robert Thompson (Geoff Peterson the gay robot skeleton) responded to some of my tweets about the Wii U. Yeah, that's about it.

Four years ago Chris Hardwick had a tweet about Justified so I replied with a joke about Timothy Olyphant in Deadwood and he sent me a DM instead of replying publicly:

And as you can see I had no idea if I was supposed to respond so for four years I've left Chris Hardwick hanging.

They were most likely doing the same that you asked.

They seemed pretty ecstatic about it actually, even though it was totally something they've done a billion times by now.

Still, immediately regretted asking them to do that.

I was 10 and was cast as Oliver in my school's production of Oliver Twist. My dad's then girlfriend was friends, and a client at his acupuncture clinic, with the guy who played Oliver in the movie from the late 60s and he wrote a letter to me wishing me luck.

If that counts.

I've been hit on by several male and one female celebrity. One of which is a controversial casting decision in a major upcoming movie.

ScarJo?

When Kanye West rapped, "When I park my Range Rover. Slightly scratched your Corolla. OK, I smashed your Corolla.", he was talking about me! Felt pretty weird but awesome at the same time. Of course, it sucks that he smashed my Corolla with his Range Rover...

Anyway. Good job, OP. That's very cool. You could've just made a "Paul McCartney recognized my art!" thread instead of a "Ever been recognized by someone famous?" thread tho ;)

What? No way lol
