Ever use a private investigator?

I'm interested in finding out what happened to an old friend of mine, but they don't turn up on any google searches or like, classmates.com, etc.

All I have is what I knew of the person 20 years ago, like their name and the town they lived in.

Is that enough to actually find someone? Or do you need more information for them to go on?

I've felt this same way at times too. I've always wanted to track down my best friend from kindergarden through elementary school. I never actually considered hiring a private investigator or trying to find them, though.

Well, the only other way I can think of people finding old friends is like... when people go on talkshows to see old crushes or old tormentors or whatever.

I just wanna know what the dude is up to... I had some letters we'd exchanged years ago after he moved, but they're long since gone, so I have no idea what the address is, or if he'd even still live there.

But because the information I had was from when he was a kid anyway, I don't know that it'd be in public records or whatever.
